]]> NEW DELHI. The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA), has achieved a major milestone with the creation of over 90 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs) across the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the achievement marks significant progress in building a connected, interoperable and citizen-centric digital health ecosystem. ABHA creation has grown from over 14 crore accounts in 2021 to 90 crore in 2025, driven by strong participation from States and Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh leads with more than 15 crore ABHAs, followed by Rajasthan and Maharashtra with over 7 crore each. The Ministry also highlighted that women account for nearly 49.75 per cent of total ABHA holders, reflecting growing inclusivity in the digital health ecosystem. ABHA enables citizens to digitally link and securely access health records across healthcare facilities, reducing dependence on physical documents while ensuring seamless, consent-based sharing of medical information, thereby improving efficiency, transparency and continuity of care.
