The team of doctors of RSP who examined the patients were Dr. Debasish Ray (Medicine), Dr. Manabhanjan (Paediatrics), Dr. Priya (O&G), Dr. Puspa Kumari, (Ompthalmology), Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo, (Surgery), Dr. Madhusmita Hota, (ENT). They were assisted by Mr. Partha Sarathi Sarangi, Mr. Lingaraj Pradhan, Ms. Susmi and Mr. B K Mohapatra, CSR Coordinator.

246 patients were examined in the camp and were provided free medicines and consultation. Besides, 21 patients were identified for further treatment at Ispat General Hospital under various CSR schemes namely Project Sunayana for free eye surgery under, Project Sushruti for medical intervention of people with hearing ailments, Project Charak for provision of free surgical interventions, Project Surabhi for treatment of gynaecological disorders and Project Akshay for treatment of TB.

It is worth mentioning here that the Medical camps are being organised by RSP in peripheral villages not only reach out to the people living in remote villages but also extend expensive surgical interventions for free treatment at IGH to the identified people suffering from grave ailments.

Thirty dance troupes from different villages of Kuarmunda Block enthusiastically participated in the zonal level competition of  Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav, organised by the CSR Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Teliposh  village on 20^th November.

Mr. Srimant Narayan Panda, CGM (HR), RSP graced the concluding function as the Chief Guest while Mr. Sanjay Mehrotra, GM In-charge (Works) was the  Guest of Honour of the function. Also present on the occasion were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM (CSR), Mr. T.B.Toppo, AGM (CSR), Mr. A N Pati, AGM (CSR), other Officials of CSR, SHG Group members and village elders.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Panda congratulated the winners as well as the participants of the event and lauded the efforts of CSR department of RSP in promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The dignitaries presented the first, second and third prizes to the winners of the dance competitions.

Siljore Dance Troupe of Sialjore village emerged as Champion of the Kuarmunda Block dance festival and won cash award of Rs. 10,000/- and the Champion trophy. Khadia Dance troupe of Hethibahal village, bagged the second prize that consisted of a cash award of Rs. 8,000/- and a trophy. The third prize carrying a cash prize of Rs. 6,000/- and a trophy was presented to the dance troupe from Jaykudar. The judges were also felicitated on the occasion. Consolation prizes of Rs. 2,500/- were also given to each of the remaining participating troupes.

The event was organised by the CSR Department of RSP with the support of Sneha  Self Help Group of Teliposh village. Ms. Munmun Mittra welcomed the gathering while Mr. T B Toppo proposed a formal vote of thanks. Mr. B Ekka, Senior Field Assistant (CSR) anchored the event. The event was facilitated by the CSR team of RSP. A large number of villagers from neighbouring areas enjoyed the dance extravaganza.

Earlier in the morning the programme was inaugurated by Mr. B Mallik in th presence of Mr. Rajesh Kumar Hansda, local Sarpanch and Ms. Susma Kanti Kindo, Ex-Sarpanch. During the programme  a street play was also presented to create mass awareness on Health, hygiene, cleanliness and other vector borne diseases.
