RBL Bank Marks Kargil Vijay Diwas with a Commitment: Pledges 1% of Workforce Representation for Ex-Armed Forces Personnel

Bengaluru, July 28, 2025: As India honoured its war heroes on Kargil Vijay Divas, RBL Bank too paid its tribute to India’s brave soldiers. It pledged to ensure that going forward, 1% of its workforce will comprise personnel exclusively from ex-armed forces. As an organization with a long heritage, the Bank has engaged ex-service personnel in a wide variety of roles in the past too.

With this initiative, the Bank intends to provide meaningful second career options to ex-armed forces personnel, while duly recognizing and capitalising on their exceptional leadership qualities, discipline, values, training, fitness, and survival instincts.

Various opportunities include core business operations, general administration, financial crimes, risk management, technology, IT services & ICT. The Bank has also planned specialized onboarding programs, assisting the new employees as they transition from armed forces to a corporate work stream.

The recruitment process will commence from July 28, 2025 onwards and applications need to be sent on Exservicemen@rblbank.com email id. The Bank aims to start onboarding and training from September 2025.

Project Naman supported 183 martyr families with 79,000+ cement bags

Bengaluru, July 25, 2025: Shree Cement, one of India’s leading cement producers, extends a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s Bravehearts on Kargil Vijay Diwas through its pioneering initiative, Project Naman – A Salute to Martyrs.

Deeply rooted in the company’s commitment to national service and conceptualized by Shri H.M. Bangur, Chairman, Shree Cement, Project Naman is a unique CSR initiative that offers free cement to support the families of soldiers and personnel from the Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces who lost their lives in the line of duty—helping them build a secure and dignified future.

The idea stemmed from a simple yet profound question: What can be done to offer something truly meaningful to the families left behind by those who gave their all for the nation? The answer was as powerful as it was practical—to help them build a solid home.

Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director, Shree Cement said, “A home is not just a shelter; it is the very foundation of dignity, security and healing. Project Naman is our way of giving back to those who gave everything. On this Kargil Vijay Diwas, we stand with the families of our martyrs. They will always remain in our memories, and we want to give our humble support to the families.”

The project was formally launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) with an MoU signed in October 2020. Since then, Project Naman has steadily grown in both reach and impact. As of July 2025, the initiative has supported 183 families from the Army, BSF, CRPF and Assam Rifles. Over 79,000 cement bags have been released under the scheme, laying tangible foundations for dreams that once seemed uncertain.

The scheme covers fatal casualties that occurred between January 1, 1999, and January 1, 2019 — a deliberate span to ensure that even long-forgotten sacrifices are recognised, remembered and honoured. So far, applications from 266 families have been received, helping many lay down new roots and rebuild their futures.

As India remembers the heroes of Kargil and countless others who laid down their lives for the nation. Shree Cement is committed to lead with empathy and purpose, transforming tribute into tangible impact.

कारगिल विजय दिवस पर बोले मुख्यमंत्री, वे लोग देश का इतिहास बदलना चाहते हैं… हम ऐसा नहीं होने देंगे

पटना। कारगिल विजय दिवस पर बुधवार को गांधी मैदान के समीप आयोजित राजकीय समारोह में राज्यपाल राजेन्द्र विश्वनाथ आर्लेकर, मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार व उपमुख्यमंत्री तेजस्वी प्रसाद यादव ने शहीद-ए-कारगिल स्मृति स्थल पर कारगिल के अमर शहीदों को पुष्प चक्र अर्पित कर श्रद्धांजलि दी। इस अवसर पर बिहार रेजिमेंटल सेंटर (बीआरसी, दानापुर) के सशस्त्र जवानों ने कारगिल के अमर शहीदों को सलामी दी तथा सूचना एवं जनसंपर्क विभाग के कलाकारों ने बिहार गीत एवं देशभक्ति गीतों के कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किये।
कार्यक्रम के बाद मुख्यमंत्री ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत की। मणिपुर की घटना पर पत्रकारों के सवाल पर मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि वहां जो कुछ भी हो रहा है उसपर केंद्र सरकार को ध्यान देना चाहिए। महिलाओं के साथ गलत व्यवहार किया गया। विपक्ष इस मामले को लेकर एकजुट है। प्रधानमंत्री को इसका जवाब देना चाहिए। विपक्षी एकजुटता से संबंधित पत्रकारों के सवाल पर मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि हम इसको लेकर लगे हुए थे। पहले पटना में विपक्षी एकता की बैठक हुई। कई दलों के लोग उसमें शामिल हुए। उस बैठक के बाद पत्रकारों से बातचीत हुई थी। उसके बाद बेंगलुरु में विपक्षी दलों की बैठक हुई। विपक्षी गठबंधन का नामकरण किया गया। बैठक में कई चीजें तय हुई हैं और आगे भी चीजें तय होंगी। विपक्षी दलों की बैठक आगे और भी होती रहेगी। कौन कहां से चुनाव लड़ेगा, आगे और कैसे कार्यक्रम होंगे, इसके लिए जल्द पॉलिसी बनेगी। हमलोग मिलकर देशहित में काम करेंगे। विपक्ष की मीटिंग के बाद एनडीए की मीटिंग हुई। वे लोग देश के इतिहास को बदलना चाहते हैं। देश के इतिहास को बदलने नहीं दिया जाएगा। हमलोगों ने नई पीढ़ी को इतिहास से अवगत कराने के लिए अपने राज्य में कई कार्य किए हैं। देश के इतिहास को पहले बदलने की कोई कोशिश नहीं की गई। ये लोग देश के इतिहास को बदलना चाहते हैं, इसलिए हम उनसे अलग हो गए। हमलोगों ने बिहार में विकास के कई कार्य किये हैं। उनकी पार्टी के लोग कहते हैं कि केंद्र के सहयोग से विकास कार्य हुआ है। विकास कार्य हमलोगों ने अपने संसाधन से किया है और कर रहे हैं। यहां के कई कार्यों को केंद्र ने अपनाया है। हमलोगों का उद्देश्य है लोगों के हित में काम करना। हमलोग सबके हित में काम करते हैं। आपस में विवाद न हो, समाज में अच्छा माहौल रहे, इसके लिए काम कर रहे हैं। राज्य में अल्प वर्षापात की स्थिति उत्पन्न हई है, इसको लेकर सरकार गंभीर है। किसानों की मदद के लिए सरकार कार्य कर रही है। इसके लिए कैबिनेट से भी मंजूरी दे दी गई है। विपक्षी एकजुटता से भाजपा घबरा गई है। एनडीए नाम तो पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के समय का है। वे लोग एनडीए का नाम अब क्यों ले रहे हैं। एनडीए की बैठक इनके कार्यकाल में पहले कभी नहीं हुई। अब जो एनडीए की बैठक हुई है वह विपक्षी दलों के दबाव में हुई है। एनडीए की बैठक में जो दल शामिल हुये हैं, उसमें कई दलों का लोग नाम भी नहीं जानते हैं।
राजस्व एवं भूमि सुधार विभाग में हुए तबादले पर रोक लगाने के फैसले को लेकर पत्रकारों द्वारा पूछे गए सवाल पर मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि हमलोगों को सूचना मिली कि राजस्व एवं भूमि सुधार विभाग में अनावश्यक बहुत लोगों का ट्रांसफर हो गया है। इसलिए सबसे बात कर फिलहाल ट्रांसफर पर रोक लगा दी गई है। मंत्रिमंडल विस्तार को लेकर पूछे गये सवाल पर मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि बिहार में मंत्रिमंडल विस्तार समय पर होगा। मंत्रिमंडल विस्तार में कोई समस्या नहीं है। इस अवसर पर विधायक अनिरूद्ध प्रसाद सहित अन्य जनप्रतिनिधि, पटना प्रमंडल के आयुक्त कुमार रवि, मुख्यमंत्री के विशेष कार्य पदाधिकारी गोपाल सिंह, पटना के जिलाधिकारी चन्द्रशेखर सिंह, पटना जिला के वरीय पुलिस अधीक्षक राजीव मिश्रा, मेजर जनरल विशाल अग्रवाल, डिप्टी ब्रिगेडियर अमित कुमार शर्मा सहित बड़ी संख्या में सामाजिक एवं राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ता मौजूद थे।
