Speaking on the occasion Mr. Panda highlighted the potential of such training in bringing about financial independence among the village women by integrating traditional crafts with modern market opportunities.

Mr. Jyoti Bikash Dash appreciated the efforts of SAIL, RSP and LEADS in introducing profitable skill enhancement programmes for women of the village.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. During the inaugural session there was an open panel discussion on promoting Adivasi Cultural heritage as means of livelihood for tribal youth.

Mr. A K Singh welcomed the gathering and coordinated the function. Ms. Nirjharini Rath, Senior Programme Manager (LEADS) and Ms. Richa Sudhiram, Manager (CSR) proposed  formal vote of thanks on behalf of their respective organisations.

Notably, the initiative aims to enhance employable skills, promote tribal art, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women in the region. During the three months course the master trainer will provide hands-on instruction on the art of Kantha stitching and fabric painting, enabling women to create marketable products such as painted clothing, home décor, and accessories. Additionally, the project includes a market linkage provision, ensuring that from the third month onwards, the products created by the beneficiaries will be made available for sale. The trainees, selected from BPL households, are between 15-45 years of age and possess basic education with prior drawing skills.
