Strong Q1 revenue, EBITDA, and profit while investing in long term capabilities to unlock future growth.

Bengaluru, July 16, 2025: Justdial, India’s No.1 local search engine, has reported a strong first quarter performance, setting new benchmarks in revenue, operating EBITDA, and net profit for Q1. It posted a revenue of ₹297.9 crores, registering a YoY growth of 6.2%. Operating EBITDA stood at ₹86.4 crores, up 7.2% YoY, while net profit reached ₹159.6 crores, reflecting a 13.0% YoY growth.

User activity remained strong, with 193.2 million unique visitors recorded during the quarter. Business listings grew to 49.7 million as of 30th June 2025. This reflects continued user trust in the platform for discovering local businesses, and vendor confidence in using Justdial as a key channel for digital marketing and business growth.

Mr. Shwetank Dixit, Chief Growth Officer, Justdial, commented: “In the last quarter, we have significantly invested in building long term capabilities. While we remain a strong horizontal platform, we are taking a more vertical focused approach to add depth and make business discovery more engaging for our users. Our use of AI to identify intent and qualify user enquiries is helping drive efficient matchmaking and deliver more conversion-ready enquiries. Combined with increased advertising investment, this has boosted enquiries for merchants, which augurs well for Justdial’s long-term revenue growth. In parallel, our focus on sales leads qualification has significantly improved sales productivity, enabling our teams to prioritize high-value conversations.”

In Q1 FY26, Justdial deepened its vertical-focused innovations across key high-impact categories. These enhancements led to richer listing content, tailored service experiences, and the planned rollout of advanced booking functionalities across segments such as medical, astrology and home services empowering users to directly engage and transact on the platform.

Justdial has also been investing in integrating AI more deeply across its core systems, especially in lead intent identification, lead scoring and content curation. These developments will enable the delivery of more personalized, efficient, and scalable experiences at every touchpoint—strengthening the platform’s ability to serve both users and merchants with greater precision.

Building on this momentum, Justdial will continue to invest in long-term capabilities and expand its presence across India’s tier 2 and 3 markets. By deepening vertical offerings and leveraging AI, it intends to enhance user experience and create more monetization opportunities, while continuing to drive profitable growth by generating high-conversion sales leads through cost-efficient acquisition channels.

Luxury car rentals saw a 3x rise from winter to summer

Self-drive rentals spiked 103% in Visakhapatnam alone

Car rentals jumped 48% this summer compared to winter

Seasonal travel pushed car-rental category searches up 36%

Bengaluru, July 8, 2025: India’s travel and tourism sector has witnessed strong momentum over the past year, especially during the summer season, as more travellers opted for road trips, weekend getaways, and short holiday breaks. This seasonal uptick in domestic tourism has led to a noticeable rise in car-rental-related searches across the country, reflecting changing consumer preferences and an increased demand for mobility options.

According to Justdial’s latest trends report, car-rental-related searches saw a sharp spike in Summer 2025 as compared to both Winter 2024 and Summer 2024. Nationwide, there was a 36% rise in searches during Summer 2024 compared to Winter 2024, underlining how peak holiday periods drive mobility needs. Additionally, Summer 2025 registered a 21% increase in car-rental category searches compared to Summer 2024, indicating strong year-on-year growth.

A closer look at the seasonal trend (Winter 2024 vs Summer 2024) reveals that searches for luxury car rentals tripled across India, highlighting how leisure travellers and urban consumers are increasingly opting for premium experiences. Among the top cities, Allahabad led with a 5x surge in luxury rental searches, followed by Kanpur (4x), Lucknow (3.5x), and Delhi (2x).

Meanwhile, self-driven rentals gained popularity among independent travellers and road-trip enthusiasts, with searches rising 67% across India. The trend was especially strong in Visakhapatnam, which recorded a 103% increase, followed by Pune (86%), Mumbai (72%), and Bangalore (54%).

Traditional car rental services also saw a 48% increase in interest, with cities like Kolkata (65%), Jaipur (52%), Lucknow (50%), and Delhi (45%) showing notable demand. This was complemented by a rise in searches for car rental for outstation travel, which saw a 19% uptick nationally. Cities like Patna (45%), Indore (37%), and Coimbatore (25%) emerged as key contributors to this trend.

The year-on-year comparison between Summer 2025 and Summer 2024 further reinforces this positive trajectory. Searches for luxury car rentals climbed 51% YoY, with Kanpur (79%), Allahabad (63%), and Delhi (60%) among the top cities driving growth. Self-driven rental interest also saw a steady rise of 16%, with Pune (46%), Mumbai (34%), and Delhi (29%) leading the pack.

In the car rentals category, searches grew by 8%, with Jaipur (43%) showing the highest spike, followed by Delhi and Lucknow. Outstation rentals, which remain a preferred option for intercity travel, registered a 7% growth across India, with Patna, Coimbatore, and Mumbai showing steady demand.

These trends clearly indicate that as domestic travel continues to expand, the demand for flexible and varied car mobility solutions is only expected to rise. With road travel offering both convenience and comfort, car-rental-related services are poised to play a key role in shaping the next chapter of India’s travel economy.

– Five metropolitan areas including Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, and Kolkata have driven the 62% national increase in Golden Retriever searches

– Siberian Huskies have experienced a 23% growth in search interest with Mumbai leading at 22% among four major cities

– Exotic bird searches have increased by 26% nationwide while Mumbai shows a remarkable 68% spike in Love Birds interest

– Labrador searches have fallen by 16% while Pomeranians show an even steeper decline of 25% nationwide

Bangalore, 09 April 2025: India’s pet landscape is experiencing a remarkable transformation, with Golden Retrievers emerging as the nation’s new favorite dog breed. Search data from March 2024 to February 2025 by Justdial, India’s No. 1 local search engine, reveals a stunning 62% surge in Golden Retriever searches nationwide, signaling a significant shift in the country’s pet preferences.

The capital city leads this golden revolution, with Delhi recording an extraordinary 117% increase in Golden Retriever searches. Other major metropolitan areas follow this trend with Lucknow showing a 32% rise, Kolkata 26%, Hyderabad 18%, and Bangalore 17%. This widespread interest spans diverse geographical regions, indicating a national rather than regional phenomenon.

As Golden Retrievers capture India’s heart, traditional favorites are experiencing a decline. Labrador searches have fallen by 16%, while the once-popular Pomeranian breed has seen a dramatic 25% drop. Even German Shepherds, long considered a staple in Indian households, registered a slight decrease of 2%, further emphasizing the shifting landscape of canine preferences across the country.

The trend toward larger, more energetic breeds extends beyond Golden Retrievers, with Siberian Huskies seeing a 23% increase in searches nationally. Mumbai leads this trend with a 22% surge, followed by Indore (20%), Chandigarh (16%), and Delhi (7%). This growing interest in cold-weather breeds in India’s predominantly warm climate suggests pet enthusiasts are increasingly prioritizing distinctive appearance and personality over environmental suitability.

Beyond canines, India’s avian interests are also evolving. Searches for exotic birds increased by 26% nationwide, with notable growth in Delhi (6%) and Mumbai (4%). Love birds, in particular, have captured significant attention with a 27% national increase, driven largely by Mumbai’s remarkable 68% surge in search interest.

These shifting preferences reflect broader changes in Indian lifestyles, with more spacious living arrangements in urban areas potentially enabling ownership of larger dog breeds. The trend also aligns with global patterns where distinctive, social media-friendly pets have gained popularity as companions and status symbols in the digital age.

– Visa assistance searches up – Canada student visas see a 20% increase.

Bengaluru, March 25, 2025: India is witnessing a growing interest in studying and working abroad, as reflected in a 10% surge in related searches on Justdial, India’s No. 1 local search engine, between March 2024 and February 2025 compared to the previous year. While metro cities saw a moderate 5% rise, the demand in non-metro cities grew significantly by 14%, indicating a broader shift in aspirations beyond urban centres.

Among metro cities, Hyderabad led with an 18% increase, followed by Delhi (14%), Bangalore (7%), Kolkata (4%), and Mumbai (1%). However, it was the non-metro cities that recorded the most striking growth, with Nagpur surging by 145%, Chandigarh by 31%, Lucknow by 15%, and Jaipur by 4%. This highlights how smaller cities are becoming key drivers of the overseas education and employment trend.

One of the most notable findings is the soaring demand for German language courses, reinforcing Germany’s growing appeal as a preferred destination. Searches for ‘German Language Classes for Corporate” skyrocketed by 147%, while “Language Classes for German Conversation” rose by 121%. Overall, German language classes saw a 31% spike, with Hyderabad registering an astounding 136% increase, followed by Chandigarh (69%), Delhi (56%), Ahmedabad (38%), Chennai (34%), Mumbai (26%), and Pune (21%).

Other foreign languages also gained traction, reflecting diverse global aspirations. Searches for “Language Classes for Foreign Language” rose by 48%, with Delhi (81%) and Mumbai (34%) leading the demand. Chinese language classes saw a 40% increase, particularly in Delhi (42%), while classes for American English, Arabic, Japanese, and French witnessed steady growth. Japanese language classes spiked by 21%, with Mumbai (34%), Chennai (33%), and Delhi (16%) showing notable interest. French classes grew by 8%, led by Chandigarh (28%) and Delhi (6%).

Interest in visa assistance services also saw an uptick, with “Student Visa Assistance for Canada” increasing by 20%, while overall student visa assistance searches rose by 13%, with Chandigarh recording a 38% spike. This suggests a strong inclination towards pursuing educational and career opportunities abroad, with Canada being a preferred choice.

The data clearly indicates a paradigm shift, with non-metro cities increasingly driving demand for international opportunities. Additionally, the overwhelming interest in the German language suggests that Germany is emerging as a top destination for higher education and employment.

Bengaluru, 27th December 2024: Justdial, India’s no. 1 local search engine, unveils its comprehensive ‘How India Searched in 2024’ report, offering a fascinating glimpse into the diverse and evolving search habits of Indians. This year’s data reveals intriguing trends across categories like healthcare, fitness, travel, food, and education, reflecting a nation increasingly focused on health, convenience, and experiences.

Search trends show a stark contrast between Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, with Tier 2 searches registering 112% more searches than Tier 1 cities, showcasing an expanding digital footprint beyond metropolitan areas. The analysis reveals that while certain categories like healthcare, wellness, education, and leisure hold universal appeal across urban and semi-urban areas, the priorities and growth trajectories differ significantly.

The healthcare & medical services category recorded a 24% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth in searches, solidifying its place as one of the most actively searched sectors. Among healthcare professionals, gynaecologists & obstetricians saw a notable 22% increase, reflecting a growing emphasis on maternal and women’s health. Simultaneously, searches for ENT specialists (up 21%) and dentists (up 19%) underline a heightened focus on specialised medical care. Hospitals and diagnostic centres also observed an uptick in demand, driven by consumers across urban and rural India prioritising accessible healthcare solutions.

Close behind, the wellness & personal care sector surged by 7% YoY growth as Indians embraced self-care and rejuvenation. Relaxation Therapy Services, beauty spas, beauty parlours, salons, and skincare clinics led the way in searches, particularly in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai. Skincare has emerged as a major focus area with 15% YoY growth, underscoring the shift toward preventive care and wellness.

Education remained a focal point throughout the year, with high search volumes for schools, colleges, and libraries topping the charts. This reflects India’s continued emphasis on foundational and higher education. However, the trends extended beyond traditional academics, showcasing a vibrant interest in skill-building and hobbies. Searches for activities like dance, cricket, music, and tailoring classes stood out, highlighting the nation’s growing inclination toward holistic development. These interests were not confined to specific geographies, as they featured prominently among the top 200 searches in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

India’s urban hustle continues to shape search trends, with high search volumes for real estate agents (10% YoY growth) and transporters highlighting the significance of housing and travel solutions. As more individuals migrate to cities for work and education, services like paying guest accommodations (12% YoY growth) have become increasingly sought after.

Tier 1 cities saw 18% YoY growth in searches for flexible housing solutions, while Tier 2 cities recorded a 9% YoY increase. However, hostels are experiencing a significant decline in demand, with a 40% decrease in Tier 1 cities and a 33% decrease in Tier 2 cities, as consumers increasingly prefer facility-rich PGs and flats that cater to modern living needs.

The resurgence of travel and leisure was another defining trend of 2024, with searches for tourist attractions, hotels, travel agents, and taxi services witnessing a 27% year-on-year (YoY) growth. Tier 2 cities emerged as key drivers of this growth, recording a 30% YoY increase in travel-related searches, outpacing Tier 1 cities, which saw a 19% YoY growth. This trend suggests that while urban migration for livelihood opportunities continues, many travellers prefer exploring less urbanised, rural destinations across India. Notably, the top cities contributing to travel-related searches include Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, and Hyderabad.

Food and dining remained integral to the Indian experience, with categories like restaurants, tiffin services, caterers, cake shops, and coffee shops/cafés consistently ranking among the most searched terms. One dish stands out as the undeniable favourite: Biryani, maintaining its place at the top of the search charts. Meanwhile, evolving palates have brought global cuisines like Mandi and Korean into the spotlight, recording 18% and 15% year-on-year (YoY) growth, respectively. The appetite for diverse dining experiences is most pronounced in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune, the top five cities leading food-related searches.

On the entertainment and leisure front, activities like visiting water parks and enjoying amusement parks have consistently remained popular, reflecting India’s renewed focus on outdoor and social experiences. These categories have witnessed a robust 36% YoY growth, indicating a strong interest in recreational activities as people embrace a more open and social lifestyle post-restrictions. Surprisingly, cinema halls have experienced a 15% YoY decline in searches, suggesting a shift in leisure preferences toward more interactive and dynamic experiences over traditional movie outings.

As digital platforms like Justdial continued to bridge consumers with their needs, the report highlighted not just the trends but also the stories driving India’s search behaviors. From increased health consciousness and self-care priorities to a resurgent enthusiasm for travel, leisure, and fitness, 2024 encapsulated a year of transformation, resilience, and growth for the nation.

When comparing the period from January-August 2023 to January-August 2024, non-metro cities emerged as key drivers of growth in EV-related searches

– Metro cities like Hyderabad led the surge, with searches growing to 8 times their previous levels, while in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Jaipur, searches increased to 3, 2, and 2 times, respectively. (January-August 2022 vs. January-August 2023).

– Indore topped the chart with a staggering 379% rise, followed by Patna at 230% and Surat at 143% (January-August 2023 vs. January-August 2024)

Bengaluru, September 12, 2024: The electric vehicle (EV) market in India has witnessed a remarkable surge in recent years, driven by a combination of government incentives, increasing awareness, and advancements in EV technology. Sales data for the past three years reflects this trend, with a consistent upward trajectory. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the year-on-year market share of electric passenger vehicles doubled to 2.6% in March 2023, up from 1.3% in March 2022. Overall sales of electric passenger vehicles surged to 90,996 units in 2023-24, registering a 91% increase compared to the 47,551 units sold in FY23. Five months into FY2025, EV retail sales have already reached 733,000 units, accounting for 43% of the previous fiscal year’s total of 1.68 million units. This consistent growth underscores the increasing consumer interest in cleaner mobility solutions across India.

To gain insights into this growing consumer interest, Justdial, India’s leading local search engine, analysed search data for EV-related categories. The data reveals a significant uptick in searches from January 2022 to August 2024, mirroring the surge in EV sales.

From January-August 2022 to the same period in 2023, the platform saw a nationwide increase of 220% in searches related to electric vehicles. In metro cities, the growth was even more pronounced, reaching 233%, while in non-metro areas, it was at 187%. Metro cities like Hyderabad led the surge, with searches growing to 8 times their previous levels, while in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Jaipur, searches increased to 3, 2, and 2 times, respectively. (January-August 2022 vs. January-August 2023). Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata also showed substantial increases of 179%, 166%, and 117%, respectively. Non-metro cities were not far behind, with Coimbatore experiencing a 178% rise in searches.

However, from January 2023 to August 2024, the trend reversed, with non-metro cities experiencing a more significant increase of 141% compared to metro cities’ 71% growth. Indore topped the chart with a staggering 379% rise, followed by Patna (230%) and Surat (143%). Metro cities like Chennai (368%) and Kolkata (114%) also saw considerable growth, though the overall spike in metro regions was more tempered at 71%.

Among EV categories, electric bikes on rent experienced the most dramatic spike, with Hyderabad’s search volume increasing to an impressive 18 times its previous level. This was followed by Ahmedabad and Bangalore, where searches rose to 5 times and 4 times their previous levels, respectively. Electric vehicle dealers also experienced a substantial jump of 203%, while electric car dealers saw a more moderate 55% rise. (January-August 2022 vs. January-August 2023)

For the comparison years January-August 2023 vs. January-August 2024, electric vehicle dealers recorded a 151% growth nationwide, with Delhi leading at 146%, while electric bus manufacturers grew by 142%. Searches for electric bikes on rent grew by 97%, with Kolkata seeing a 167% rise, followed by Pune (123%), and Mumbai (91%).

These year-on-year trends underscore the growing demand for electric vehicles across India, with both metro and non-metro regions showing heightened interest. As EV adoption continues to grow, it is evident that consumer curiosity and awareness are expanding rapidly, further fuelling the market for electric vehicles and related services.
