										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b>Bengaluru, July 7, 2025:</b> Jindal (India) Limited, part of the B.C. Jindal Group and one of India’s leading downstream steel product manufacturers, has received Letter of Approval (LoA), through its wholly owned subsidiary, Jindal India Steel Tech Limited (JISTL), for setting up a green-field steel manufacturing plant in Dhenkanal, Odisha. The company received the project approval during the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting, chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. Jindal (India) Limited’s JISTL plans to invest a total of Rs 15,000 crore in Odisha in three phases by 2030, with the current Rs 3,600 crore investment marking the first phase of the project.</p>
<p>As part of this strategic expansion, the company’s state-of-the-art facility will focus on manufacturing special coated steel products. The plant will feature coating facilities such as a Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) with a Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) and a Colour Coating Line (CCL) for steel sheets with multiple high potential downstream products with total capacity of 9.6 lakh MT per annum, will also be manufactured. This phase will be commissioned by 2027. In parallel, JISTL will enhance the total capacity of the Odisha plant to 30 lakh MT per annum in the flat product division by 2030.</p>
<p>Speaking on the occasion, <b>a company spokesperson </b>said, <i>“This move aligns with our endeavor to support the Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and to contribute to India’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. Along with enhancing the company’s domestic manufacturing capabilities, the green-field manufacturing plant will reduce reliance on imports and generate </i><i>employment opportunities in the state. The modern facility will also strengthen Jindal (India) Ltd.’s footprint in Odisha’s growing industrial sector.”</i><i> </i></p>
<p>Jindal (India) Limited, will also establish a steel pipe manufacturing facility that will have an estimated annual production capacity of 2 lakh MT per annum. The project marks Jindal (India) Limited’s strategic expansion in the Indian steel manufacturing sector, reiterating its commitment to industrial growth in the region.<i> </i></p>
<p><i>“In FY26, we plan to drive the company’s growth by focusing on our premium product offerings like colour-coated sheets. Looking ahead, we also plan to introduce high potential downstream products</i><i>.”,</i> the spokesperson added.</p>
<p>Jindal (India) Limited has two state-of-the-art factories located at Howrah, West Bengal and its capabilities include advanced colour coating, galvanizing, and galvalume technologies. The company offers a comprehensive range of products across three major divisions that include sheets, pipes, and aluminum foil. With strong brands like Jindal Sabrang and Jindal NeuColour+, Jindal (India) Limited dominates the colour-coated sheets market, particularly in Eastern India, and maintains a significant presence across the country. In FY25, the company had announced an investment of over Rs 1,500 crore to expand its steel production capacity, with completion targeted for FY26.</p>

<p><strong>Bengaluru, 18 September 2024:</strong> Jindal India Renewable Energy, a part of the BC Jindal Group, announced its foray into the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The company plans to build 1 GWh battery pack assembly line with LFP chemistry by 2025 and will foray into battery cell manufacturing with 5 GWh capacity by 2027.</p>
<p>To achieve this, the company will be entering into a Technology Collaboration with a world-class technology provider to achieve highest quality standards. This move aligns with India’s efforts to strengthen its position as one of the top renewable energy players in the world.</p>
<p>Currently, the sector is witnessing rapid growth due to policy emphasis on renewables to enable the Government’s push towards a greener future BESS as a technology enables grid stability, efficient storage and most importantly, addresses the issue of power supply during peak periods and to fulfil the FDRE / RTC demand, and is expected to power India’s renewable energy aspirations. The Indian BESS market is expected to grow at an impressive CAGR of 11.41 pct till 2032, underscoring the significant opportunities that this sector presents.</p>
<p>Speaking on the development, <strong>Mr. Punit Gupta, Director,  Jindal India Renewable Energy </strong><strong>said</strong>, “<em>Jindal India Renewable Energy is proud to step in and meet the growing demand for India’s energy storage solutions. By investing in battery energy storage systems, we are expanding our portfolio as well as contributing to grid stability and deeper integration of renewable sources.</em>”</p>
<p>This announcement comes in the backdrop of Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE) aiming to generate 5 GW of power from solar, wind, hybrid and FDRE modes. Along with this, going forward JIRE will also manufacture PV Cells and Modules to tap into the solar demand.</p>
