Mumbai, 27th July 2026: At JBCN International School, nurturing a love for reading and storytelling is at the heart of the learning experience. Through initiatives such as Peek-A-Book, its annual literature festival, Literary Oasis, a book donation drive that helps establish libraries in schools, and regular author interactions, the school encourages curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong reading culture.

Furthering this commitment, JBCN recently hosted its first literary masterclass with celebrated author Amish Tripathi for the launch of his debut children’s fiction book, Dhruv Tara, The Great Indian History Quiz, engaging learners across the secondary section in an inspiring session around the importance of reading in the era of AI. The masterclass also focused on history as a subject and how it nurtures analytical thinking, empathy, and an understanding of how societies evolve over time.

The reading session with Amish Tripathi gave learners an inspiring opportunity to experience the joy of books, reading, and storytelling alongside one of India’s most celebrated contemporary authors. During the interactive session, he engaged learners in conversations about history, fiction, the relevance of reading in the age of AI, and even challenged them with an engaging quiz. The excitement in the room was evident as learners eagerly asked questions and interacted with the author.

Learners also got an exclusive glimpse of the book through its trailer, adding to the anticipation and excitement. Concluding the session, Amish Tripathi encouraged them to cultivate a lifelong love for reading, nurture their imagination, and find their own voice by creating stories that inspire and connect.

Ms Debika Chatterjee, Director Principal, JBCN International School, Borivali, said, “For today’s learners, the world can often feel fast-paced and demanding. Reading offers them an opportunity to pause, reflect, and immerse themselves in stories that spark curiosity and fuel imagination. This is why at JBCN, we have always endeavoured to encourage a reading culture and give learners across all classes ample opportunities to even lead initiatives that nurture the same. The reading session with Amish Tripathi was yet another opportunity for our learners to interact with one of India’s most prominent literary voices. It was also heartening to see their enthusiasm and to know that the love for reading continues to thrive among younger generations.”

Amish Tripathi mentioned, “It was a delight interacting with the students of JBCN. The idea behind Dhruv-Tara is to make history fun. The children can read an exciting adventure of two 11-year old kids (Dhruv & Tara) and through that adventure, learn about India’s fabulous history. I was extremely encouraged by the deep interest of JBCN children in reading, history and our motherland, India. “

The session concluded with an engaging exchange of ideas, leaving learners inspired to explore more books and continue their journey as curious readers.

In the past, too, JBCN has hosted initiatives like Peek A Book, an engaging literature event encompassing activities and contests, where learners between the ages of 4 years to 16 years had the opportunity to meet and interact with talented authors like Anand Neelakantan, Shabnam Minwalla, and Bharti Singh. Likewise, Literary Oasis aimed to promote the joy of reading and curiosity amongst its learners who set up two reading stations with 400 books at MHB School. They also executed multiple book donation drives fostering a love for reading among over 10,000 learners.

The school also recorded a 100% IB Diploma pass rate, while 85% of learners scored 5 or above (out of 7) across subjects, underscoring the consistency of strong academic performance.

Learners also excelled in the IB Core, achieving an average score of 2.20 with over 93.3% of learners securing 2 or more out of a maximum of 3. This further underlines the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who demonstrate excellence not just in subject knowledge but in research, critical inquiry and the broader dimensions of the IB philosophy. Beyond academics, learners have actively engaged in community projects, leadership initiatives and interdisciplinary learning, embodying the true spirit of the IB.

Learners pursued purpose-driven pathways across STEM, Business, Liberal Arts, Design, Law and Sport Sciences, supported by JBCN’s future-focused university and career guidance programme. Beginning in middle school, the programme combines personalised counselling, mentorship and goal setting, guided by globally trained IB and CAIE educators, nearly half of whom serve as official IB and Cambridge examiners and curriculum consultants.

Mr. Kunal Dalal, Managing Director, JBCN Education, shared, “The Class of 2026 has demonstrated that true excellence is never one-dimensional. These results and placements are a reflection of years of curiosity, perseverance and a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact on the world. At JBCN, we have always believed that academic achievement and personal growth are two sides of the same coin — and this cohort embodies that belief in the truest sense. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our faculty, the trust of our parents and the extraordinary commitment of our learners themselves. We are immensely proud of each one of them and look forward to seeing them thrive on the world stage as the Changemakers they truly are.”

As the Class of 2026 embarks on the next chapter, in universities across the world and beyond, they carry with them not only academic accolades but the values, perspectives and resilience that will define them as the Changemakers of tomorrow.
