SJVN Limited has achieved Commercial Operation Date (COD) of its 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar, developed through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL). Located over around 300 acres near Hadhadiya, Kakanchaur in Jamui district, the ₹1,342 crore project is expected to generate about 90 million units of electricity in its first year and around 3,522 million units over 25 years, with power supplied to Bihar at a tariff of ₹2.96 per unit. The project has generated approximately 15–20 direct and around 5,100 indirect employment opportunities and is estimated to reduce nearly 82,250.74 tonnes of carbon emissions. Developed pursuant to a tender floated by the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA), the project strengthens SJVN’s renewable energy portfolio and contributes to the Government of India’s target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
