The PESB Panel has recommended the name of Manoj Kumar Sharma for the post of Director (Catering Services) of IRCTC. At present, he is holding the position of Group General Manager and Zonal Head (East Zone) in IRCTC. Sharma has been recommended for the post of Director (Catering Services) of IRCTC from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on June 19. Out of seven candidates, five candidates were from IRCTC and one each from CONCOR and Indian Railways.

DPE has announced the grant of Navratna status to the IRCTC and IRFC

The Government has approved the upgradation of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to Navratna CPSE, making it the 25th #Navratna among CPSEs!” the department said in a post on X.

The appointment was finalized by IRCTC’s Board of Directors, based on recommendations from the Nomination & Remuneration and Audit Committees. Sudhir Kumar, an officer of the 1996 batch of the Indian Railways Accounts Service (IRAS), takes over the financial reins of the public sector undertaking (PSU).

IRCTC, DMRC, and CRIS join hands to promote `One India – One Ticket’ Initiative

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and Centre For Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have collaborated to enhance travel for Delhi NCR passengers, promoting the ‘One India – One Ticket’ initiative. The beta version of the Delhi Metro Rail QR code-based ticket was launched today, allowing main line railway passengers to book DMRC tickets on the IRCTC website and Android app.

CMD IRCTC Sanjay Kumar Jain and MD DMRC Dr. Vikas Kumar announced that the regular version will follow the beta’s success. The new system enables booking metro tickets up to 120 days in advance, with tickets valid for four days around the travel date.

Sanjay Kumar Jain, a 1990-batch Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS) Officer, assumed the role of CMD of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with immediate effect. Appointed by the Ministry of Railways, he holds the position on an immediate absorption basis until his superannuation on December 31, 2026,. Jain, a qualified Chartered Accountant, brings over three decades of diverse experience in leadership roles within the Ministry of Railways, PSUs, and the Department of Public Enterprises.

Before assuming the charge of CMD, Jain was serving as the principal chief commercial manager of Northern Railway. He brings more than three decades of extensive experience in handling important portfolios in the Ministry of Railways, PSUs, and the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance.

His notable leadership roles include Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Group General Manager (North Zone), IRCTC, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai, Central Railway, Joint Secretary in the Department of Public Enterprises, Part-time Chairman & CEO of National Land Monetization Corporation Limited among others.

Govt Nominates Sanjay Kumar Jain As CMD Of IRCTC

The Ministry of Railways has entrusted Sanjay Kumar Jain to take additional charge as chairperson and managing director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp. The appointment, which is “pending approval of the competent authority,” comes after Seema Kumar, a member (operations and business development) of the Railway Board, relinquished the additional charge of the post on Jan. 9., according to an exchange filing on Tuesday.

Jain, who currently serves as the principal chief commercial manager of Northern Railway, will be appointed with effect from the date of assumption of charge till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IRCTC net profit at Rs 295 crore in Q2

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd has reported the total revenue of the company touched Rs 995.31 crore, rising 23.5 per cent from Rs 805.80 crore in the same period last year, according to IRCTC’s regulatory filing. As per notification on SEBI , 30.4 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 294.67 crore for the July-September quarter of 2023-24 has been recorded , against profit of Rs 226 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.The higher profit was attributed to an increase in ticket and catering sales. EBIDTA for the quarter worked out to Rs 366.5 crore which represents an increase of 20.2 per cent. EBIDTA margin was at 36.8 per cent as compared to 37.8 per cent in the same quarter of the previous year.
