The appointment comes as IRCON continues to execute major rail, transport and infrastructure projects across India and overseas.

A seasoned railway professional with extensive experience in project execution, infrastructure development and public sector leadership, Ahmad is expected to provide continuity in leadership while supporting IRCON’s growth and strategic priorities. The move reflects the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening leadership across key public sector enterprises that are playing a critical role in India’s infrastructure modernisation and connectivity initiatives.

Prasad, Chairman, CIL, along with senior officials from both organizations. Under this collaboration, IRCON will provide its technical expertise to conceptualize, plan, design, execute, and maintain rail infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning, reinforcing CIL’s commitment to improving logistics and ensuring seamless coal movement across the country.
