KIRAN BEDI MESSAGE AFTER REMOVAL FROM PUDDUCHERRY

Kiran Bedi on Wednesday said that she found a message on the cover of her diary that told her to have a “kind heart, fierce mind and brave spirit”.

Bedi was removed from Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry post on Tuesday night in a sudden development when the union territory was witnessing a political crisis following the resignation of Congress MLAs from the V Narayanasamy government.

A brief communique issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman Ajay Kumar Singh said the President has directed that Bedi “shall cease to hold the office of the Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry”.

“Thank all those who were a part my journey as Lt Governor of Puducherry-The People of Puducherry and all the Public officials,” Ms Bedi, 71, tweeted this morning, along with a statement.
“I thank the Government of India for a life time experience in serving Puducherry, as its Lt Governor,” she said. “Team Raj Nivas” worked diligently to serve larger public interest, Ms Bedi said.

The former IPS officer also tweeted a clip of a motivational quote from a cover of a dairy on her table. “Kind heart, fierce mind, brave spirit,” it said.

President Ram Nath Kovind gave the additional charge of the union territory to Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan “with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office, until regular arrangements for the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry are made”. The direction from the President comes amid the political crisis where the ruling Congress-led government has been reduced to a minority after one more MLA quit the party on Tuesday.

Bedi and Narayanasamy have been at loggerheads over a range of issues. A retired IPS officer, Bedi was functioning till late Tuesday evening and reviewing the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the union territory and issuing directions for bringing in police force and sanitation workers in the frontline worker category for the inoculation.

BIHAR Police questions IPS forcible quarantine

Bihar’s director general of police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey tweeted that An IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, heading a Patna Police team to investigate an ‘‘abetment to suicide’‘of actor SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUTS case was “forcibly quarantined” by civic authorities. This has created buzz in social media where Sushant fans claimed Mumbai police not helping in investigation .

He was sent Mumbai on the basis of a complaint filed by the late actor’s father in Patna.

“IPS officer Vinay Tiwari reached Mumbai today from Patna on official duty to lead the police team there but he has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 PM today,” Pandey tweeted.

Meanwhile Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh again condemned the demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He shared on social media that
“@MumbaiPolice already began investigating allegations about @itsSSR’s unfortunate alleged suicide. Even if Bihar Police registered an offence in Patna, under Ch. 12 & 13 of the #CrPC it has to be investigated, inquired and tried by police and courts within whose jurisdiction…,” Deshmukh said in a tweet.

“…the offence is committed. I condemn the demand for the @itsSSR case to be handed to #CBI. The case is now being politicised for political gains. #MaharashtraPolice is inquiring into the case professionally and are competent in digging out the truth, leaving no stone unturned!” he added.

Rajput’s father lodged a police complaint against actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family members and the department registered a first information report (FIR) under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including abetment to suicide.

Rajput’s father alleged that Chakraborty and her family kept his son away from his family, handled his bank accounts and took away crores of rupees. His FIR mentioned that when she found Rajput’s bank balance was depleting, she left his house on June 8 and took cash, jewellery and his medical reports along with her, and also blocked his mobile number.

Maharashtra IPS officer Abdur Rahman quits in protest over CAB

MAHARASHTRA cadre senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Abdur Rahman resigned to protest over Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

Rahman announced his resignation soon after the bill passed in parliament and termed it to be “communal” and “against the basic feature of the Constitution”.

In a statement issued on Twitter, Rahman said, “The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 is against the basic feature of the Constitution. I condemn this Bill. As civil disobedience, I have decided not to continue in the service and thus not to attend office from tomorrow. I am quitting the service finally. I say sorry to those who want me to continue in the service and give justice to the deprived people.”

He has sent his resignation letter to Chairman Maharashtra Human Rights Commission. The IPS officer had on October 2019 applied for a Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) but his application was not accepted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He had then challenged the decision in court and the matter is still pending.

Kiran Bedi supported Cop’s Protest

The Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and former IPS officer KIRAN BEDI supported cops protest in Dehli and said seniors should come forward “When police men and women perform their duty fairly, firmly, fearlessly and responsibly, they need to be protected by their seniors,” Ms Bedi said in a statement, defending the police force.

“Never drive men and women in uniform to the wall and let them lose faith in their own service and own seniors,” she added.

More then 8 thousend police personals protested on Tuesday after violent clashes between cops and lawyers at the city’s Tis Hazari court complex on Saturday.”…the police departments have exclusive departments of vigilance and departmental enquiries. Hence, it is the duty of the department itself to scrutinise their acts of omission and commision in a rigorous manner,” Ms Bedi said. It is the leadership’s duty to ensure “no one is prejudged and humiliated for doing their bonafide duty”, she said.

The protesters policemen were seen carrying posters of Kiren Bedi that read “we miss you” and chanted slogans of “aa gayi aa gayi sherni aa gayi (the lioness has come)”. They placed it right on the top of the entrance of the Police Headquarters building in central Delhi.

Ms Bedi had faced a similar situation in January 1988 when a lawyer arrested for theft at St. Stephen’s college was brought to the Tis Hazari court in handcuffs. “But I remained firm and refused to budge to the demand of the lawyers seeking suspension/arrest of the cops responsible for hand cuffing the advocate,” she told news agency PTI, adding that the person did not identify himself as an advocate at the time of his arrest and also gave a different name to the police.

She said during the 1988 police-lawyers clashes at Tis Hazari, when she was DCP (North), there were demands from the advocates associations for her suspension and arrest. But then police commissioner Ved Marwah strongly supported her and rejected the demands, she said.
