The central government had reviewed the security of Mr Vishwas and the threat perception based on intelligence inputs in the wake of his allegations against AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

After the review, it was decided to give Mr Vishwas ‘Y’ category security through the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the sources said.

Under the ‘Y’ category security, Mr Vishwas will be protected by four personal security officers round the clock.

meanwhile Amid ex-AAP leader and poet Kumar Vishwas’ sensational claim, several poets have written an open letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleging that his counter to Vishwas had ‘hurt the sentiments of poets’. Over 40 persons, mostly poets, have signed the letter saying that instead of relying on facts to counter Kumar Vishwas’ statement, Kejriwal had ‘insulted’ poets as a class.

The letter addressed to the Chief Minister in Hindi read, “As poets and people of literature, we are deeply hurt by your disrespectful remarks. As an irresponsible person, you have ridiculed him (Kumar Vishwas) and without any proof, have called him the person who makes unreliable claims. That is why we are writing to you with a heavy heart.”

Breaking his silence on the ‘Khalistani’ allegations levelled against him, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, questioned why no one had arrested him to date if Vishwas’ statement was true. टीएमसी ने गोवा के पुराने क्रिश्चियन एनजीओ गोवा फाउंडेशन के साथ समझौता कर लिया है और इस संगठन ने पुराने कागज झाड़ पोंछकर एक नया जुमला 35 हजार करोड़ की वसूली और हर गोवा के खाते में तीन लाख रुपये जमा करने का नारा दिया है. पार्टी नेता डेरेक ओ ब्रायन ने कहा है कि गोवा में माइनिंग माफिया ने 35 हजार करोड़ का घोटाला किया था और उसे वापस लेकर हर गोवा वासी को तीन लाख रुपये दिये जायेगे . ये सब उनको गोवा फाउंडेशन के क्लाउड अलवारिस ने समझाया है . जो गोवा के हर विकास काम में रोड़ा लगाते रहे हैं.
क्या है ये 35 हजार करोड़ का खेल .
असल में गोवा फाउंडेशन की अपील पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज एम बी शाह ने एक रिपोर्ट बनायी थी जिसमें कहा गया था कि अनुमान है कि गोवा में गलत खनन से करीब 35हजारकरोड़ का राजस्व नुकसान हुआ .. ये रिपोर्ट 2012 के चुनाव में बीजेपी ने उठा ली और अरुण जेटली के साथ मनोहर पर्रीकर ने इस पर खूब प्रचार किया . बाद में जब पर्रीकर की ही सरकार आ गयी तो वो फंस गये . गोवा सरकार ने इस पर एक जांच बिठाई तो खुद पर्रीकर को अधिकारिक तौर पर कहना पड़ा कि ये आंकड़ा करीब तीन हजार करोड़ का ही है 35 हजार करोड़ तो अनुमान था .. लेकिन मजे की बात जब चार्टड अकाउंटेंटस की एक कमेटी बनाकर जांच की गयी तो असल आंकड़ा 300 करोड़ से भी कम के रेवेन्यू लास का निकला. आखिर में वो भी पांच साल मे वसूल नही हो पाये . यानि 15 लाख करोड़ के काले धन और हर खाते में 15 लाख के जुमले की तरह इसका इस्तेमाल हो गया. अब तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने इसे लपक लिया है और लगातार बयानबाजी कर रहे है लेकिन मुश्किल ये है कि खुद बीजेपी सरकार भी इसका खंडन नहीं कर पा रही है. डर यही कि लोग अगर फिर से खाते में तीन लाख के झांसे मे आ गये तो क्या होगा.
गोवा की हालत खराब ..
असल में इस समय गोवा एक ऐसा राज्य हो गया है जिस पर कोविड का सबसे बुरा असर पड़ा है. गोवा में दो साल तक पर्यटन पूरी तरह बंद रहा तो कसीनो ,क्लब और किनारे पर खुले होटल ठपप हो गये .दूसरी तरफ कानूनी पचड़े के कारण 2018 से माइनिंग बंद है .आइरन ओर की इन माइन के बंद होने के कारण ढुलाई और पोर्ट से आवाजाही भी बंद है . इससे सरकार को कोई इनकम नहीं हो रही .गोवा पर अभी करीब 23 हजार करोड़ रुपये का कर्ज है जो पिछले तीन साल मे 50 फीसदी बढा है क्योकि कोई कमाई नहीं है ..इसी के चलते सरकार के काम रुक रहे है . गोवा में सरकार को हर महीने 112 करोड़ रुपये चाहिये केवल तनख्वाह देने के लिए वो भी जुटाना मुश्किल हो रहा है . ऐसे में गोवा के सीएम प्रमोद सावंत फिर से माइनिंग चालू करने की बात कर रहे है लेकिन तृणमूल ने 35 हजार करोड़ का जुमला उछाल कर उनको परेशानी में डाल दिया है.
गोवा में 14 लाख की आबादी में से 3 लाख लोग किसी न किसी तरह माइनिंग में लगे हैं जाहिर है माइनिंग बंद होने से बेरोजगारी भी बेतहाशा बढ़ी है और कोविड में पर्यटन ठप होने से ये कोड़ में खाज की तरह हो गयी है. अब चुनाव में फिर से मुददे और जुमले उछाले जा रहे है जबकि आम गोवा वासी जो बहुत साधारण रहते हैं कहीं वो इस जुमले की राजनीति में फंस ना जाये तो बीजेपी को बहुत मुश्किल होगी..

With the administration of 83,88,824 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 120.27 Cr (1,20,27,03,659) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.  This has been achieved through 1,24,56,121 sessions.

The break-up of the cumulative figureas per the provisional report till 7 am today include:

The recovery of 9,868 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,39,77,830.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.33% which is highest since March 2020.

Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 152 consecutive days now.

10,549 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload presentlystands at 1,10,133.Active cases presently constitute 0.32% of the country’s total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,81,246 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 63.71 Cr (63,71,06,009) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.89% remains less than 1% for the last 12 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 0.89%. The Daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for last 53 days and below 3% for 88 consecutive days now.

Xi made the remarks during a virtual conference with the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, held to mark the 30th anniversary of relations between China and the grouping.

Two diplomats said ASEAN member Myanmar was not represented at Monday’s meeting after its military-installed government refused to allow an ASEAN envoy to meet with ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other arrested politicians. Military ruler Gen. Min Aung Hlaing was also barred from representing his country at the last ASEAN summit.

China has repeatedly sought to overcome concerns about its rising power and influence in the region, particularly its claim to virtually the entire South China Sea that overlaps the claims of ASEAN members Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei and the Philippines.

China resolutely opposes hegemonism and power politics, wishes to maintain friendly relations with its neighbours and jointly nurture lasting peace in the region and absolutely will not seek hegemony or even less, bully the small,” Xi said, according to the official Xinhua News Agency.

Xi’s remarks came days after Chinese coast guard ships blocked and sprayed a powerful stream of water at two Philippine boats carrying supplies to troops at a disputed South China Sea shoal and forced them to turn back.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte highlighted the incident in his remarks at the conference, referring to the shoal by its Philippine name.

We abhor the recent event in the Ayungin Shoal and view with grave concern other similar developments. This does not speak well of the relations between our nations and our partnership, Duterte said, according to a statement from his office.

Duterte also called on China to respect the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea which establishes maritime entitlements and sovereign rights over maritime zones, along with a 2016 Hague arbitration ruling that mostly invalidated China’s South China Sea claims. China has refused to recognise the ruling.

We must fully utilise these legal tools to ensure that the South China Sea remains a sea of peace, stability and prosperity, Duterte said.

On Monday, the Philippines redeployed the two supply boats to provide food to the marines based at Second Thomas Shoal aboard a World War II-era warship which it deliberately ran aground in 1999 in a move to fortify the country’s claim. Chinese vessels have surrounded the shoal and demanded the Philippines tow away the ship, the BRP Sierra Madre.

For the first time, an airport in India has been conceptualised with an integrated multi modal cargo hub, with a focus on reducing the total cost and time for logistics. The dedicated cargo terminal will have a capacity of 20 lakh metric tonne, which will be expanded to 80 lakh metric tonne. Through facilitating seamless movement of industrial products, the airport will play a crucial role in helping the region attract huge investments, boost rapid industrial growth, and enable reach of local products to national and international markets. This will bring new opportunities for numerous enterprises, and also create tremendous employment opportunities.

The airport will develop a Ground Transportation Centre that will feature a multimodal transit hub, housing metro and high-speed rail stations, taxi, bus services and private parking. This will enable seamless connectivity of the airport with road, rail, and metro. Noida and Delhi will be connected to the airport through hassle free metro service. All major nearby roads and highways like the Yamuna Expressway, Western Peripheral Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and others will be connected to the airport. The airport will also be linked to the planned Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail, enabling the journey between Delhi and airport in only 21 minutes.

The airport will also house a state-of-art MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhauling) Service. The design of the airport is focussed on low operating costs and seamless and fast transfer processes for passengers. The airport is introducing a swing aircraft stand concept, providing flexibility for airlines to operate an aircraft for both domestic and international flights from the same contact stand, without having to re-position the aircraft. This will ensure quick and efficient aircraft turnarounds at the airport, while ensuring a smooth and seamless passenger transfer process.

It will be India’s first net zero emissions airport. It has earmarked dedicated land to be developed as forest park using trees from the project site. NIA will preserve all native species and be nature positive throughout the development of the airport.

The development of the first phase of the airport is being done with a cost of over Rs 10,050 crore. Spread over more than 1300 hectares of land, the completed first phase of the airport will have a capacity to serve around 1.2 crore passengers a year and work on it is scheduled to be completed by 2024. It will be executed by the international bidder Zurich Airport International AG as concessionaire. The groundwork for the first phase regarding land acquisition and rehabilitation of the affected families has been completed.

A large number of incriminating evidences in the form of documents, diary notings and digital data showing earning of huge unaccounted income by the group and its investment in assets have been found and seized. The evidences clearly indicate evasion of taxable income by adopting various modus-operandi such as suppression of production, use of bogus purchase invoices without actual delivery of the goods to inflate purchases, availing of bogus GST credit, claim of bogus commission expenses, etc.  The assessee group has also received on-money in immovable property transactions. All these have resulted into generation of unaccounted cash. During the search proceedings, several incriminating evidences about cash transactions in investment in immovable properties and cash loans have also been seized.

The search operation has resulted in seizure of unaccounted cash of about Rs. 2.5 crore and jewellery of Rs. 1 crore. 16 bank lockers have been placed under restraint.

A preliminary analysis of the documents/evidence unearthed during the search has indicated that estimation of unaccounted income is likely to be more than Rs.100 crore.

Further investigations are in progress.

Lai and nine others were charged with incitement to take part in an unauthorized assembly, for their roles in a protest on October 1, 2019, when they walked down a road with thousands of others.

Lai, 73, was sentenced to 14 months in prison. He is currently serving a separate 14-month jail term for other convictions earlier this year also related to unauthorized rallies in 2019, when Hong Kong residents took to the streets in the biggest challenge to Beijing since the city was handed from British to Chinese control in 1997.

With the two sentences combined, Lai will serve a total of 20 months behind bars.

He is also being investigated under the city’s sweeping national security law, imposed last year, for colluding with foreign powers to intervene in the Hong Kong affairs.

Authorities have arrested and charged most of the city’s pro-democracy advocates, who also include Joshua Wong, a student leader during 2014 protests.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a statement called on Hong Kong authorities to drop charges filed against people merely for standing for election or for expressing dissenting views.

The trains – an essential service for lakhs of commuters, particularly for those from economically weaker sections – will be opened from the first service till 7 am, noon to 4 pm and 9 pm to the last service.

In between these timings, only those in essential services – such as frontline workers and healthcare staff, single women travellers and those with a special pass from the state government – will be allowed to travel.

The authorities have appealed to all travellers to follow standard operating protocols when in the station or onboard the trains, including wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing to minimise contact with other people.

The authorities have also reminded people not to crowd railway stations if they are not among those allowed to travel at given times.

The decision was taken after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s review meeting on the issue of resumption of suburban train services, considered as the lifeline of Mumbai, for all members of the public.

The decision to resume Mumbai locals comes minutes after the Maharashtra government today extended its lockdown restrictions till 28 February.

“Activities already allowed and permitted from time to time shall be continued and all earlier orders shall be aligned with this order and shall remain in force up to 28 February,” reads the Maharashtra government statement.

The order also said that the existing guidelines will be strictly implemented by all the departments of the Maharashtra government

The Government of Indiahad set up a special borrowing window in October, 2020 to meet the estimated shortfall of Rs.1.10 lakh crore in revenue arising on account of implementation of GST. The borrwoings are being done through this window by the Government of India on behalf of the States and UTs.  The borrowings have been done in 10 rounds. The amount borrowed so far was released to the States on 23^rd October, 2020, 2^nd November, 2020, 9^th November, 2020, 23^rd November, 2020, 1^st December, 2020, 7^th December, 2020, 14^th December, 2020, 21^st December, 2020, 28^thDecember, 2020 and 04^th January, 2021.

The amount released this week was the 10^th instalment of such funds provided to the States. The amount has been borrowed this week at an interest rate of4.1526%.So far, an amount of Rs.60,000 crore has been borrowed by the Central Government through the special borrowing window at an average interest rate of 4.6892%.

In addition to providing funds through the special borrowing window to meet the shortfall in revenue on account of GST implementation, the Government of India has also granted additional borrowing permission equivalent to 0.50 % of Gross States Domestic Product(GSDP)to the states choosing Option-Ito meet GST compensation shortfall to help them in mobilising additional financial resources. All the States have been given their preference for Option-I. Permission for borrowing the entire additional amount of Rs.1,06,830 crore(0.50 % of GSDP) has been granted to 28 States under this provision.

The amount of additional borrowing permission granted to 28 States and the amount of funds raised through special window and released to the States and Union Territories so far is annexed.

Statewise additional borrowing of 0.50 percent of GSDP allowed and amount of funds raised through special window passed on to the States/UTs till 04.01.2021
