New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has been conferred the Platinum Winner title at the Global Safety Innovation Award 2026, recognizing its excellence in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices. The award was presented by the Energy and Environment Foundation during the Global Safety Awards 2026.

The award was presented at the Global Safety Awards 2026 held on July 2, 2026. The recognition places ONGC among leading global energy companies prioritizing safety innovation and sustainable practices.

T&RM Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant emerges as Best in SAIL for Learning & Development Initiatives

The Traffic and Raw Material (T&RM) Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), has been adjudged the Best Department in the area of Learning & Development (L&D) Interventions across all SAIL units for the financial year 2024-25. Mr. Priya Ranjan, Director In-Charge, Bokaro Steel Plant, presented the award to the RSP team at a function held at the Management Training Institute (MTI), Ranchi, on 25th June 2026. Mr. Sanjay Dhar, ED(MTI) was also present on the occasion. Mr. P. K. Sahoo, CGM (L&D), and Mr. Manoj Kumar, General Manager (T&RM), received the award on behalf of RSP.

The department received this recognition in appreciation of its sustained commitment to organizational excellence through leadership coaching interventions, business appreciation programmes, cost optimization initiatives, customized MoUs, cyber security awareness, energy conservation, supervisory capability development, implementation of environmental management systems, fire control management, the Learn to Lead in All Situations programme, and continuous improvement in material handling practices.

The department also conducted customized safety training programmes for shunting operators and locomotive operators, enhancing their operational competence and reinforcing safe working practices.

The award reflects RSP’s unwavering commitment to developing competencies in industrial safety and operational excellence. Through a wide range of comprehensive learning and development initiatives, the T&RM Department has fostered a strong culture of safety, excellence, and preparedness across the plant. These sustained efforts have not only enhanced the knowledge and capabilities of employees but have also promoted safety awareness and best practices within the wider community.

NTPC Barh Signs Mutual Aid Agreement with IOCL Barauni

NTPC Barh and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Barauni, signed a Mutual Aid Agreement on 24 June 2026 to strengthen inter-organizational cooperation in the areas of industrial safety, emergency preparedness and resource sharing. The agreement was signed by Shri C. Satya Rama Krishna, Executive Director, NTPC Barh and Shri Satya Prakash, Executive Director & Refinery Head, IOCL Barauni, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

The agreement aims to establish a framework for mutual support during emergencies, enabling quick mobilization of firefighting and rescue resources while strengthening coordination and communication between the two organizations. It also provides for conducting joint mock drills, training programmes and safety exercises to enhance emergency response capabilities and promote best practices in industrial safety.
