Indore metro will be equipped with various other amenities for smooth commutes. This includes fully air conditioned environment, automation-2 technology (driverless mechanism), CCTV camera surveillance, platform screen door system (an area around the metro track will be covered with glass) and LED display boards on the trains. This is the fifth edition of the survey that was introduced by PM Modi in January 2016.

The Minister interacted with select beneficiaries, swachhagrahis (Clean India Warriors), and Safai Karmis (Sanitation Workers) under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U) from different parts of the country through video conference.

Swachh Survekshan 2020 covered 4,242 cities, 62 cantonment boards and 92 Ganga towns. This survey was carried out in 28 days.

Mysuru had won the award for the cleanest city of India in the first edition of the survey, while Indore has retained the top position for three consecutive years (2017,2018, 2019). In a first, the Swachh Survekshan programme in 2019 was a completely digital survey completed in a record time.

Swachh Survekshan is meant to monitor the performance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which was launched on October 2, 2014, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It aims to make India open-defecation free by 2019.

The survey was introduced by the government with the objective of generating large-scale participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It also aims at inculcating a spirit of healthy competition among cities towards becoming India’s cleanest cities.

However, people should not think that lockdown has been lifted. Reiterating the importance of social distancing, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray said today, “No one should think that lockdown has been lifted.”

The state government would take strict action against those violating lockdown norms. “I’ve heard that some people are treating relaxations as lifting of lockdown. If they continue to behave like this we will take strict measures,” added Thackeray.

The state government has decided to seal borders of districts to avoid the spread of the virus. Industries in ‘green zone’ and ‘orange zones’ have started production. Green zones are those areas where no coronavirus cases had been diagnosed. Orange zones have reported few coronavirus cases since the outbreak.

Maharashtra had several districts which recorded zero coronavirus cases.

The measures being relaxed are geared towards the agricultural sector — farming, fisheries and plantations — which provide a lifeline for thousands of farmers across the country.

“We have given permission only for industries in the essential sector and the transport of essentials,” Thackeray said .

“As we don’t run our economy now, we will be in financial crisis after we come out of coronavirus crisis,” Thackeray added.

With over 4,000 cases, Maharashtra has witnessed the highest number number of coronavirus cases in the country. The death toll in the state has increased to over 223. Mumbai, the financial capital of India, saw over 1,000 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak.

The COVID-19 situation is “especially serious” in Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata and a few other places in West Bengal, and violation of lockdown measures risk the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Centre said.

पुलिस ने बताया कि एमआईजी, पलासिया और कनाड़िया के पुलिस थानों में अलग-अलग आरोपों में एफआईआर दर्ज हुई हैं। मीडिया समूह का अखबार हनी ट्रैप मामले से जुड़ी जानकारी पिछले कई दिनों से प्रकाशित और प्रसारित कर रहा था।

इस बीच, इंदौर प्रेस क्लब और प्रदेश के अन्य पत्रकार संगठनों ने इस कार्रवाई को लोकतंत्र के चौथे स्तंभ को डराने का सरकारी प्रयास करार दिया है। पत्रकार सोशल मीडिया पर भी इस कार्रवाई का विरोध जता रहे हैं।

पुलिस ने कहा कि हनी ट्रैप मामले के शिकायतकर्ता और इंदौर नगर निगम के निलंबित इंजीनियर के कहने पर अखबार में छपी खबर को लेकर आईटी एक्ट के तहत संबद्ध प्रावधानों के तहत प्राथमिकी दर्ज कराई है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया है कि अखबार ने उनकी निजता का हनन किया है।

इंदौर नगर निगम के इंजीनियर हरभजन सिंह की शिकायत पर पुलिस ने 19 सितंबर को हनी ट्रैप गिरोह का खुलासा किया था. गिरोह की पांच महिलाओं समेत छह सदस्यों को भोपाल और इंदौर से 18 एवं 19 सितंबर को गिरफ्तार किया गया. गिरोह पर आरोप है कि वह अपने जाल में फंसे धनी एवं रसूखदार लोगों के साथ अंतरंग पलों का वीडियो बनाने के लिए कैमरे लिपस्टिक कवर और चश्मों में छुपाकर रखते थे. फिर इन्हीं वीडियो की मदद से धनी एवं रसूखदार लोगों को ब्लैकमेल करता था.

जीतू सोनी अपने अखबार लोकस्वामी और चैनल पर पिछले कुछ दिनों से हनीट्रैप से जुड़े ऑडियो और वीडियो प्रकाशित और प्रसारित कर रहे थे. एसडीएम राकेश शर्मा, सीएसपी ज्योति उमठ के साथ प्रशासन, पुलिस, आबकारी, नगर निगम, फूड और बिजली कंपनी के अफसर पूरी रात तक जांच करते रहे, जिसमें कई दस्तावेजों के अलावा 67 लड़कियां भी पकड़ी गईं.
