Bengaluru, December 10, 2025: The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s pioneering tennis-ball T10 cricket tournament, delivered a blockbuster Season 3 Player Auction with close to INR 10 crore spent on 144 players as eight franchises went head-to-head in an intense day of bidding in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Vijay Pawle emerged as the auction’s biggest headline, fetching INR 32.50 lakh, the league’s highest ever price tag, from defending champions Majhi Mumbai. The star all-rounder from the West Zone returns to familiar territory, having led Mumbai to the title last season. Ketan Mhatre, also from the West Zone, was retained by Chennai Singams through the Right to Match (RTM) card for INR 26.40 lakh, making him the second-highest pick of the day.

With two new teams, Ahmedabad Lions and Delhi Superheros, joining the league, Season 3 promises to be the most competitive edition yet. The tournament will be held from January 9 – February 6, 2026 at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat. Tickets will be available on BookMyShow soon.

This year’s auction showcased ISPL’s growing influence, with 408 players from 101 cities going under the hammer.

The event drew some of the biggest names in cricket and entertainment, including ISPL Core Committee members Sachin Tendulkar, Ashish Shelar, Minal Amol Kale, Suraj Samat, and Dipak Chauhan, President – Operations. Team co-owners in attendance included Akshay Kumar (Srinagar Ke Veer), Saif Ali Khan & Aksha Kamboj (Tiigers of Kolkata), Hrithik Roshan and Divy Dangi (Bengaluru Strikers), Niti Agarwal (Majhi Mumbai), Zayd Noman (Falcon Risers Hyderabad), Rajdip Gupta (Chennai Singams), and Ajay Devgn, Jahidhmohmed Vijapura & Izazahmad Khanusiya (Ahmedabad Lions), along with Salman Khan and Arpita Khan Sharma (Delhi Superheros).

The day opened on a spectacular note with the official unveiling of the ‘Street Star’, a humanoid innovation set to redefine fan engagement in ISPL Season 3.

The U-19 category saw spirited bidding. Ankit Yadav emerged as the costliest youngster, snapped up by the Tiigers of Kolkata for INR 6.50 lakh. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Rudra Patil created history as the youngest player of Season 3, picked by Srinagar Ke Veer at his base price of INR 3 lakh.

Speaking during the auctions, Sachin Tendulkar, Core Committee Member, ISPL, said: “I started playing cricket because I was passionate. So, my advice to all the ISPL players is this: be yourself. Whatever you were yesterday, can you better yourself today? This is one such platform where you can go out, express yourself, and everyone is watching you and enjoying your talent. Climb the mountain so that you can see the world, not so that the world can see you.”

Ashish Shelar, Core Committee Member, ISPL, said: “The ISPL was created to give promising talent a stage to shine, and it’s heartening to see lakhs of young players embracing the opportunity. We have built this platform with a professional, future-focused approach, and its impact is already visible. I am confident that ISPL will continue to grow from strength to strength and unlock even more potential across the country.”

Minal Amol Kale, Core Committee Member, ISPL: “The ISPL auction continues to be a career-defining moment for many talented cricketers. This league provides a much-needed platform for budding cricketers who otherwise may not get national exposure. We hope that every player selected this season makes the best use of this opportunity, works hard and moves one step closer to fulfilling their dreams through ISPL.”

Suraj Samat, Core Committee Member and League Commissioner, ISPL, said: “This edition of the auction was among the most competitive we have seen so far. Franchises came in with clear strategies, and the use of Googly Power, RTM and retention added great depth to the proceedings. The squads are well-balanced, and we are confident that fans will witness a high-quality and entertaining season in Surat.”

The league has expanded to eight teams with the addition of Delhi Superheros, owned by Salman Khan, and Ahmedabad Lions, owned by Ajay Devgn. They joined Majhi Mumbai (Amitabh Bachchan), Tiigers of Kolkata (Saif Ali Khan & Kareena Kapoor Khan), Srinagar Ke Veer (Akshay Kumar), Chennai Singams (Suriya), Bengaluru Strikers (Hrithik Roshan) and Falcon Risers Hyderabad (Ram Charan).

Season 3 Player Auction scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Mumbai

Bengaluru, December 8, 2025: The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s pioneering tennis-ball T10 tournament, has announced its list of retained players, including last edition’s stars Abhishek Dalhor of Majhi Mumbai (retained for ₹26.65 lakh) and Jagannath Sarkar of Chennai Singams (retained for ₹20.02 lakh), as franchises look to form strong squads ahead of the highly anticipated Season 3 Player Auction scheduled for Tuesday in Mumbai.

For the first time, ISPL has introduced a player retention system, allowing each franchise to secure one key performer ahead of the auction. This new structure brings an added layer of strategy to Season 3, making the upcoming bidding process more competitive and impactful.

Abhishek Dalhor was one of the standout performers of the previous edition, delivering crucial contributions in high-pressure moments. His growth has now been recognised at the IPL level with his selection as a net bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025, underlining ISPL’s role as a platform for talent progression. Jagannath Sarkar, meanwhile, emerged as a dependable top-order force for Chennai Singams, anchoring chases, accelerating when required, and repeatedly lifting his team in high-stakes games.

Other key players retained for the upcoming season include Bhavesh Pawar from Tiigers of Kolkata (retained for ₹11.05 lakh) and Mansoor KL from Falcon Risers Hyderabad (retained for ₹4.5 lakh). These players delivered consistent, impactful performances for their respective sides, and their retention underscores the franchises’ confidence in them as central figures in their Season 3 strategies.

ISPL is backed by a strong leadership group featuring Core Committee Members Sachin Tendulkar, Ashish Shelar, Minal Amol Kale and Suraj Samat, whose collective vision has been central to the league’s rapid rise, scale and popularity.

Suraj Samat, ISPL Core Committee Member and League Commissioner, said: “Introducing player retentions for the first time marks an important step in the evolution of the ISPL. These strategic decisions enhance competitive balance and build excitement for the Season 3 auction. With increased team purses, new franchises joining, and 408 players from 101 cities in contention, the stage is set for teams to assemble formidable line-ups that will elevate the sport to the next level.”

“The introduction of player retentions is an important step in the growth of ISPL. Our aim is to ensure smooth operations while giving teams and players a fair and competitive environment. With higher team purses, improved auction rules and two new franchises joining the league, Season 3 promises to be our most exciting season yet. We look forward to a well-organised auction that supports the continued progress of the ISPL,” added Dipak Chauhan, President, Operations.

The upcoming Season 3 Player Auction in Mumbai introduces ground-breaking features, including the innovative “Googly Power” mechanism allowing sudden ₹1 lakh bid jumps, expanded team purses from ₹1 crore to ₹1.5 crore, and squad sizes increased to 18 players. With 408 players from 101 cities—categorized across six zones (U-19, West, East, Central, South, North) at a ₹3 lakh base price—and two Right to Match (RTM) cards per existing franchise, teams must include at least two U-19 players and ensure zonal representation for balanced squads.

The upcoming eight-team tournament is scheduled to take place in the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat from January 9 to February 6, 2026, with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season set to drive home a brand-new Porsche 911, adding an exciting new dimension to player recognition and motivation.

Reflecting the league’s rapid rise, this season sees the addition of two new franchises — Delhi Superheros led by Salman Khan and Ahmedabad Lions owned by Ajay Devgn. They join an illustrious line-up that includes Majhi Mumbai (Amitabh Bachchan), Tiigers of Kolkata (Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan), Srinagar Ke Veer (Akshay Kumar), Chennai Singams (Suriya), Bengaluru Strikers (Hrithik Roshan), and Falcon Risers Hyderabad (Ram Charan).

Fans can enjoy all the action of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) Season 3 Auction live on the Star Sports Network and JioHotstar.

The list of retained players is as below:

Majhi Mumbai:

Retained Player: Abhishek Dalhor – ₹26.65 lakh

Purse Remaining: ₹1.23 crore

Chennai Singams:

Retained Player: Jagannath Sarkar – ₹20.02 lakh

Purse Remaining: ₹1.30 crore

ISPL captures nationwide interest

The schedule for trials was also announced, offering thousands of aspiring players a platform to showcase their talent, compete, and earn a place in the league. The event also featured the unveiling of the official group draws, setting the stage for a fierce and entertaining contest. Season 3 has already recorded more than 4.3 million player registrations.

Shelar further announced the implementation of the Zonal Institution and selection tournament for Season 4, a revolutionary initiative designed to strengthen ISPL’s talent pipeline through a structured, regionally integrated scouting and development process. This move will ensure that raw talent from every corner of the country has a fair shot at national recognition.

Shri. Sachin Tendulkar, ISPL Core Committee Member, said: “ISPL has evolved beyond being just a league; it has become a movement that is changing the way we identify and nurture cricketing talent in India. With Season 3, the league is expanding its reach, creating even more opportunities for players to showcase their skills on a national stage. This expansion strengthens the foundation of grassroots cricket and I’m confident that the impact will be felt across the country.”

Shri. Ashish Shelar, Core Committee Member, added: “I see ISPL as a transformative initiative. It is helping shape the future of cricket by giving talent a platform to rise. A new venue for the league also reflects our commitment to growing the game beyond traditional centres and taking it to regions where the passion for cricket runs deep. The Zonal Institutional Model we are introducing is a forward-looking step. It will build a strong, structured system for identifying and developing talent at the grassroots level, not just for ISPL, but for Indian cricket as a whole.”

Minal Amol Kale, Core Committee Member, said: “With every new season, ISPL is breaking barriers, telling new stories and giving deserving voices a place to shine. Season 3 is our most ambitious yet and it represents the heart of what this league is truly about. With Surat hosting Season 3, we are continuing our mission to take cricket back to its roots, empowering untapped communities and transforming local playgrounds into national stages.”

Suraj Samat, League Commissioner, shared: “In just three seasons, we’ve evolved from a bold idea into a movement that’s redefining the grassroots sports ecosystem in India. The introduction of the Porsche 911 as the MVP Award is more than just a headline; it’s a message. Much like when Ravi Shastri won an Audi for his performance in 1985, this is about inspiring players to dream big and push their limits. We want every youngster watching or playing in ISPL to believe that world-class rewards are within their reach if they bring passion, discipline, and performance to the game.”

Ajay Devgn, owner of the Ahmedabad franchise, said: “Cricket is a game that unites everyone and ISPL truly captures that raw, real spirit. Ahmedabad has always given me immense love and support. Just like cinema, cricket is a cultural phenomenon here and I know there’s so much untapped talent waiting to show their hard work and skill. Through our team in ISPL, I hope we can bring new heroes to the forefront. Sport has the power to change lives and I’m looking forward to see the action unfold in Season 3.”

The league also launched the official documentary, ‘Rise of ISPL’, which chronicles its inspiring journey from local streets to national stadiums.

ISPL boasts a star-studded roster of team owners, with new additions Salman Khan (New Delhi franchise) and Ajay Devgn (Ahmedabad franchise) joining a line-up of superstars and legends: Amitabh Bachchan (Majhi Mumbai), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Tiigers of Kolkata), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar Ke Veer), Suriya (Chennai Singams), Hrithik Roshan (Bangalore Strikers), and Ram Charan (Falcon Risers Hyderabad).

The Season 3 trials will begin on October 5th, 2025 onwards and will take place across 101 cities.

ISPL has expanded the squad size to 18 players per team, with the mandatory inclusion of two under-19 players, creating more opportunities for emerging talent across the country. Additionally, the team purse has been increased by 50%, now set at ₹1.5 crore, giving franchises greater flexibility to build stronger, more competitive squads.

Bengaluru, February 10, 2025: Table-toppers Majhi Mumbai dashed Chennai Singams’ hopes of reaching the play-offs of the Indian Street Premier League, season 2, after handing them a 24-run thrashing in their final league stage fixture at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium here on Sunday. Later, in the second match of the evening, Falcon Risers Hyderabad defeated Srinagar Ke Veer by 13 runs, to finish second on the points table.

Chennai’s defeat also confirmed KVN Bangalore Strikers as the fourth team in the play-offs, alongside Mumbai, Falcon Risers Hyderabad and Srinagar Ke Veer. Having registered four wins from their nine games in the season so far, Bangalore are assured of their place in the play-offs, irrespective of the outcome of their final league game against Tiigers of Kolkata on Monday.

In the play-offs, that start on Wednesday, Mumbai will face Hyderabad in the first qualifier before Bangalore lock horns with Srinagar in the Eliminator, the following day.

In between the matches, Nikhita Gandhi captivated the weekend crowd with her mesmerising voice and high-energy performance, making it an evening to remember.

Electing to field after winning the toss, Chennai were left to rue their decision as Mumbai piled on a mammoth total of 122 for 3 in their 10 overs. In reply, the Singams could only manage to post 98 for 6.

Mumbai were boosted by an unbeaten half-century by opener Mohammed Nadeem, who was the team’s top scorer on the day with 50 runs off 28 deliveries. His innings was studded with three boundaries and as many sixes. Nadeem received excellent support from his opening partner Rajat Mundhe, who scored 38 runs off 20 balls, hitting four sixes and a boundary along the way.

The duo put together an opening stand of 60 runs in just over five overs to give the Mumbai innings a rock-solid foundation.

Mohammad Zeeshan was the only Chennai bowler to taste some amount of success, returning figures of 2/15 in his two overs.

Chasing the formidable target, the Chennai batting line-up put up a brave fight as they attempted to take the fight to the rival camp with some aggressive batting. But the sheer weight of the rather daunting target proved to be a bit too much.

The jitters in the Chennai camp were evident early during their innings. The Singams were off to a poor start, losing their top order quite cheaply and were struggling at 24/3 in the fourth over.

Thereafter, Sumeet Dhekale led a strong fight back by the Singams, remaining unbeaten on 45 off 30 deliveries, powered by three boundaries and as many sixes However, that did not prove to be enough in the end.

Hyderabad beat Srinagar by 13 runs

Falcon Risers Hyderabad posted a healthy 77 for 7, revolved mainly around Aakash Jangid’s 24-ball 31 and some late order fireworks from Shreyash Kadam (11) and Sambhaji Patil (10 not out), after being asked to bat by Srinagar Ke Veer. Suvronil Roy starred for the bowling side, claiming impressive figures of 4/8 while Sahil Longale picked 2/13.

In reply, Srinagar lost in-form opener Sagar Ali for a rare duck, but fellow opener Akash Tarekar and Sanskar Dhyani steadied the ship taking calculative risks to reach 24/1 midway through their innings. However, Vishwajit Thakur (3/14) and Irfan Umair (3/13) pulled back things for the Hyderabad outfit, sharing six wickets between them to restrict Srinagar for 64/7.

On Monday, defending champions Tiigers of Kolkata will look to wrap up a rather ordinary season on a high in their face-off against KVN Bangalore Strikers. All matches are LIVE on Star Sports 1 (TV) and Disney+ Hotstar (OTT).
