IREDA Wins Silver at Green Urja Awards for Excellence in Women in Green Energy & Energy Efficiency

Mumbai, February 4^th, 2026 : Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) today won Silver award under the category “Excellence Award for Women in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency” at the 6th Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards, organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi.

The award was presented by Shri Anil Razdan, Former Secretary (Power) along with other dignitaries and received on behalf of IREDA by Mrs. Mala Ghosh Choudhury, General Manager (HR); Ms. Durre Shahwar, General Manager (HR); and Mrs. Punnu Grover, Chief Compliance Officer, along with other women officers.

Congratulating on the achievement, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director, IREDA, said, “This recognition reflects IREDA’s sustained efforts to build a supportive and inclusive workplace, where women professionals are encouraged to grow and contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy journey. With around 23% women employees, among the highest in CPSEs, IREDA firmly believes that empowering women is essential for building a strong and future-ready clean energy ecosystem.”

CMD, IREDA expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy; Hon’ble Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy; Secretary, MNRE; Board of Directors; and all stakeholders for their continued guidance and support.

The award was presented by former Power Secretary Shri Anil Razdan and received on behalf of IREDA by senior women officers, including Mrs. Mala Ghosh Choudhury and Ms. Durre Shahwar, General Managers (HR), and Mrs. Punnu Grover, Chief Compliance Officer. IREDA Marks New Year 2026 with Employee Get-Together and Growth Outlook

NEW DELHI. Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) organised a New Year 2026 get-together for its employees at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, fostering a spirit of unity and renewed commitment. The event was graced by Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE; Shri J.V.N. Subramanyam, Joint Secretary, MNRE; Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA; Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), IREDA; and other senior officials. Addressing employees, Shri Sarangi emphasised team building, nurturing young professionals, and strengthening financial support to MSMEs and flagship initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar scheme, assuring continued MNRE support. Shri Pradip Kumar Das highlighted workforce growth, improved gender diversity, strong corporate governance, and IREDA’s robust financial performance, including record profits and key milestones achieved in recent years.

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) reported strong business performance for the nine months ended December 31, 2025, with healthy growth across key parameters. Loan sanctions rose 29% to ₹40,100 crore, while disbursements increased 44% to ₹24,903 crore. The outstanding loan book grew 28% to ₹87,975 crore. CMD Shri Pradip Kumar Das said the performance reflects growing confidence in IREDA’s financing capabilities and its pivotal role in driving India’s green energy transition.

The new office incorporates cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to eliminate the use of paper and promote efficient digital workflows throughout the organization. A significant milestone in IREDA’s commitment to sustainable practices.

The office which is designed to operate in a completely paperless manner, has been inaugurated by IREDA ,CMD, Shri Pradip Kumar Das recently.
