NEW DELHI. India has created a new Guinness World Record after securing 2,50,946 valid pledges for responsible artificial intelligence use within 24 hours during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Announcing the achievement at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said the country earned the Guinness World Records title for the “Most pledges received for an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours.” The record was officially verified by a Guinness World Records adjudicator during the summit held between February 16 and 17.

The nationwide AI Responsibility Pledge campaign was launched under the IndiaAI Mission in collaboration with Intel India to encourage citizens to commit to ethical, inclusive and responsible AI practices. Participants engaged with scenario-based questions on data privacy, transparency, accountability and tackling misinformation, and received digital badges along with AI learning resources upon completion. Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inspiring outreach to students and educational institutions, Vaishnaw said the overwhelming participation, far surpassing the initial target of 5,000 pledges, reflects growing awareness and positions India as a leader in promoting responsible AI for social good.
IBM, UNICC, NIELIT, IIT Madras, BharatGen & WISER Partner AP in Education-Centric AI Push

Mumbai | February 21st, 2026: On a day-long visit to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu placed education firmly at the centre of the State’s artificial intelligence ambitions.

During his visit on February 20, the Chief Minister oversaw the signing of seven key MoUs and Letters of Intent, most of them directly focused on higher education, advanced skilling and school transformation. The emphasis was clear. Andhra Pradesh is choosing to build its AI future through its students.

1 Lakh Learners to Be Skilled with IBM

The Government of Andhra Pradesh signed a Letter of Intent with IBM India Private Limited to skill one lakh learners over the next three to five years in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing.

The collaboration will explore access to IBM’s global digital learning platforms, enabling learners from Andhra Pradesh to gain industry aligned, future ready skills and strengthening the State’s emerging tech workforce pipeline.

UNICC to Establish Quantum and AI Centre at Amaravati

A Letter of Intent was also signed with the United Nations International Computing Centre to establish a Centre of Excellence for AI and Quantum at Amaravati Quantum Valley in 2026.

With over 55 years of experience serving more than 100 UN entities and international organisations, UNICC brings global best practices in secure and sovereign AI. The Centre is expected to position Amaravati as a Digital Embassy for Secure AI aligned with UN grade standards.

First NIELIT Deemed University Campus in South India

In a significant higher education milestone, the State signed a MoU with the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology to establish the first NIELIT Deemed to be University campus in South India, dedicated to Quantum and AI education.

Backed by central government funding support through MeitY and State provided land, space and quantum hardware access, the campus is set to emerge as a national hub for emerging technology talent development.

AI Academies in 50 Plus Colleges and State AI Sandbox

A MoU with Cabilo AI will strengthen AI and digital innovation capabilities across more than 50 higher education institutions in Andhra Pradesh.

The initiative covers graduation and post-graduation students, faculty development, AI integrated curricula, applied use cases and innovation labs to enhance employability outcomes.

Additionally, through the Real Time Governance Society, the government is establishing a State level AI Sandbox in partnership with Calibo Inc. The sandbox will provide a secure and controlled environment to design and validate AI solutions for governance and public service delivery.

WISER Talent Hub Under Amaravati Quantum Valley

The State also signed an MoU with WISER, Washington Institute for STEM, Entrepreneurship and Research, to establish a Centre of Excellence and Talent Hub under the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative.

The programme has already trained over 62,000 learners and is targeting 3.5 lakh learners in 2026 and 6 lakh learners in 2027, aiming for 3.5 million cumulative learners. A three tier talent funnel will advance the top 10 percent into applied tracks and the top 1 percent into industry ready capstone programmes, with 1,000 elite quantum performers groomed annually for global exposure.

Swadeshi AI Stack and State wide AI Tech Hub

In partnership with BharatGen, NexGen and IBM, Andhra Pradesh signed a Letter of Intent to launch a State wide AI Tech Hub built on a five layer Swadeshi AI Stack.

The platform will integrate 22 Indian languages, more than 500 sovereign GPUs and indigenous large language models to support governance, welfare, agriculture, MSMEs and education. It is designed to enable department ready AI applications and secure AI sandboxes on a unified State platform.

AI Tutor for Every School Student

Extending the AI push to school education, the government signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in partnership with Bodhan AI to roll out an AI Tutor across Government, Aided and Private schools in Andhra Pradesh.

The AI Tutor will be grounded 100 percent in SCERT textbooks, targeting at least 98 percent curriculum accuracy with zero tolerance for unsafe or harmful content. Implementation will follow a three phase model consisting of design, pilot in over 100 schools and statewide scale up, with defined uptime benchmarks of 95 to 97 percent.

The platform will function as State owned Digital Public Infrastructure, ensuring full data sovereignty, parental consent and compliance with the DPDP Act 2023, while supporting teachers and not replacing them.

For Andhra Pradesh. Artificial intelligence is not merely an economic lever. It is an educational mission that begins in classrooms, scales through universities and prepares an entire generation for the quantum and AI era.

NEW DELHI. REC Limited showcased the first live demonstration of India’s Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading pilot under the India Energy Stack at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam, during a strategic session titled “India Energy Stack (IES) and the AI-Ready Power Sector: Trust, Interoperability, and Scale,” marking a key milestone in India’s shift toward a decentralized and consumer-centric digital power ecosystem. In a first-of-its-kind transaction, Arun Singh, a farmer from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, used a secure blockchain-enabled platform to sell six units of surplus solar power to Lakshmi, a garment shop owner in Delhi, earning Rs. 30, thereby demonstrating the real-world potential of the India Energy Stack as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) that transforms citizens into active ‘energy agents’ rather than passive consumers. The pilot enables prosumers—including households, businesses, and farmers generating renewable energy—to directly trade surplus electricity through trusted digital protocols, paving the way for a participative and decentralized power market.

The demonstration was held in the presence of Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma, Chair, India Energy Stack; Shri Jitendra Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director, REC Limited; Shri Ashish Kumar Goel, Chairman, UPPCL; Shri Alok Kumar, Director General, AIDA; Shri Reji Pillai, President, ISGF; Shri Shashank Misra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power; Prince Dhawan, Executive Director, REC; and Smt. Swetha Ravi Kumar, Executive Director, FSR Global.

NEW DELHI. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, emphasizing that “intelligence, rationality, and decision-making” are the cornerstones for making technology useful to the masses. As the first global AI gathering hosted in the Global South, the summit brought together over 20 Heads of State, 60 Ministers, and 500 global AI leaders to discuss how artificial intelligence can be harnessed for the public good. The Prime Minister, accompanied by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, explored the India AI Impact Expo, which spans 70,000 square meters and features more than 600 startups. He noted that the event offers a glimpse into India’s extraordinary potential to shape AI solutions not just for the nation, but for the entire world.

Experts at the summit, including USISPF President Mukesh Aghi, highlighted India’s strategic lead in making AI affordable, scalable, and accessible. With one of the world’s largest structured databases and a robust digital public infrastructure, India is positioning itself as a model for the Global South by bridging the gap between high-tech innovation and grassroots impact. The summit, anchored in the “IndiaAI Mission,” features three flagship Global Impact Challenges—AI for ALL, AI by HER, and YUVAi—aimed at identifying inclusive, development-oriented solutions. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to deliver the formal inaugural address of the summit on February 19, setting a long-term roadmap for responsible and human-centric AI governance.

New Delhi, February 2026 – REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, is set to play a pivotal role at the upcoming India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. As a leader in power sector financing and digital transformation, REC will host three high-level thematic sessions in collaboration with global partners and showcase cutting-edge technology at its dedicated pavilion.

Driving Global Discourse: Three Strategic Sessions

REC is convening three distinct sessions to address the intersection of artificial intelligence, energy transition, and infrastructure financing:

● Global Mission on AI for Energy (February 16 – 16:30 to 17:25 hrs, L2 Audi I): Partnering with the International Solar Alliance (ISA), this session focuses on building “AI-ready” and “citizen-ready” power systems. It aims to align leadership on high-impact use cases that make clean electricity more affordable and inclusive.

● The AI-Energy-Finance Trifecta (February 17 – 10:30 to 11:25 hrs, Room no 10): In collaboration with the World Bank, REC will examine the rapid expansion of energy-intensive data centers. The discussion will focus on the policy and financing foundations needed to unlock AI-driven energy optimization and resilient, green data-center development in India.

● India Energy Stack (IES) and the AI-Ready Power Sector (February 18 – 11:30 to 12:25, West wing room 4 A): Partnering with FSR Global, this session explores the India Energy Stack as a common, interoperable digital layer for the power sector. The discussion will center on how this digital public infrastructure can lower integration costs and enable a shift from “energy access” to “energy agency” for consumers.

Empowering Consumers: Launch of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Energy Trading A major highlight of the summit will be the launch of a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading program during the India Energy Stack session. This initiative is designed to transform consumers from passive recipients of electricity into active market participants. By leveraging secure, interoperable digital protocols, P2P trading will allow neighbors to buy and sell surplus solar energy directly among themselves, fostering a decentralized energy ecosystem and providing new monetization opportunities for households and small businesses.

A Hub of Innovation: The REC Pavilion

REC Limited will demonstrate its commitment to a digital-first energy landscape at its 140 sq m pavilion located at First Floor, Hall 4 (4F.19). Visitors can explore various AI-driven solutions designed to enhance grid efficiency, improve utility performance, and support India’s transition toward a smarter, greener energy future.

Through these initiatives, REC Limited continues to lead the charge in integrating advanced technology with robust infrastructure to power a sustainable and digitally empowered India.

NEW DELHI. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT), has launched the ‘Kaushal Rath’—a mobile Artificial Intelligence awareness initiative under the National AI Literacy programme, Yuva AI for All. Flagged off from India Gate by Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT Jitin Prasada, the fully equipped mobile unit functions as a digital classroom with internet-enabled computers, audio-visual tools and structured AI training modules. It will travel to schools, colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and community spaces, particularly in semi-urban and underserved regions, to provide hands-on exposure to AI and Generative AI tools through trained facilitators and India-specific use cases. The initiative aims to democratise foundational AI education and ensure inclusive digital capacity building across the country.

The Yuva AI for All course is a four-hour, self-paced programme comprising six modules that cover AI fundamentals, ethics and real-world applications, requiring no prior coding knowledge. Participants receive certification upon completion. According to MeitY, the initiative aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, where skilling is one of seven core pillars, and combines instructor-led training, micro- and nano-credentials, and nationwide outreach. Launched in collaboration with partners such as Future Skills Prime, iGOT Karmayogi, Coursera and TCS iON, the programme also serves as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16–20 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Positioned as the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, the event will focus on translating AI discussions into development-oriented outcomes under the themes of People, Planet and Progress.
