The Government of India’s Swachhata Pakhwada was officially inaugurated at the SECL Headquarters with a pledge-taking ceremony. SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan administered the Swachhata Pledge to a gathering of senior directors, department heads, officers, employees, and labor union representatives. In his address, Shri Duhan emphasized that cleanliness is a vital part of both institutional culture and social responsibility, stressing that the vision of a Swachh Bharat can only be realized through active public participation. Running until June 30, the fortnight-long campaign will feature extensive cleanliness drives, public awareness programs, and various participatory activities across all SECL units and establishments to promote hygiene practices and community involvement.

The event saw active participation from Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club members, including President Smt. Kasturi Maitra, Vice President Smt. Soumya Kar, and office bearers. NTPC representatives, including Senior Manager (HR) Smt. Pranami Handique and Executive (CSR) Smt. Smriti Das, also supported the program. Dr. Chandni Brahma from NTPC Bongaigaon Hospital led the awareness session, speaking about the importance of daily personal hygiene and safe menstrual practices.

A total of 200 hygiene kits were distributed to adolescent girls at the event, aimed at equipping them with essential resources and awareness for menstrual hygiene management and improving personal health. Smt. Kasturi Maitra emphasized that menstrual hygiene is not just a health issue but a matter of self-respect and empowerment, highlighting the need for early education to ensure girls grow up with confidence and awareness. The initiative reflects the shared commitment of NTPC Bongaigaon and Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club to community well-being under the broader mission of Swachhata Pakhwada.
