Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) celebrated its 79th Foundation Day in Kolkata, marking a significant milestone in the Corporation&#8217;s journey and reflecting on its decades of achievements. The grand event featured a special Rewards &amp; Recognition (R&amp;R) ceremony that honored employees for their outstanding contributions during the financial year 2025–26. A key highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of the DVC Ideacon Book, a unique compilation showcasing employee innovations and creative solutions.</p>
<p>The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. D.V. Rajan, Additional Secretary, DVC, who formally greeted the dignitaries and the gathering.</p>
<p>In his address to the employees and guests, Chairman Shri Gurdeep Singh outlined a futuristic vision for the Corporation, targeting a total power generation capacity of 7.6 GW by the year 2032. This ambitious expansion blueprint will heavily focus on scaling up DVC&#8217;s capabilities across thermal, hydro, and non-conventional floating solar energy sectors. Aligning the celebrations with social responsibility, the DVC Women&#8217;s Association extended support to the community by making meaningful donations to various NGOs and old-age homes. The memorable evening concluded on a high note with a captivating cultural performance by legendary singer Usha Uthup and her troupe.</p>

NHPC Limited has launched a National Essay Writing Competition on the MyGov platform on the theme &#8220;Role of Hydro Power in Building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.&#8221; The competition invites participants to share their perspectives on the contribution of hydropower to India&#8217;s energy security, sustainable development, and nation-building. The top 30 winners will receive digital certificates and a special invitation from the Ministry of Defence to witness the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in New Delhi on August 15, 2026. Participants are encouraged to review the competition guidelines before submitting their entries.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>THDC India has signed a pact with the Maharashtra government for harnessing six PSPs (pumped hydro power storage project) totalling 6,790 MW with an investment of over Rs 33,600 crore. The agreement aims to facilitate the developer in conducting surveys, investigations, preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and establishing projects in a time-bound manner while adhering to the prevailing rules, policies, and schemes of both the central and state governments, a company  statement said&#8230;</p>
<p>The MoU, was signed by Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, and the Sh. Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resource Department, Government of Maharashtra.</p>
<p>The six planned projects under this MoU are Malshej Ghat Pumped Storage Project (700 MW), Aruna Pumped Storage Project (1,950 MW), Kharari Pumped Storage Project (1,250 MW), Humbarli Birmani Pumped Storage Project (1,000 MW), Aruna Kolamb Pumped Storage Project (1,200 MW), and Morawadi Majarewadi Pumped Storage Project (690 MW).</p>
<p>As part of the collaboration, the Maharashtra government will facilitate the process of water allocation necessary for the projects, including both initial filling and annual consumptive requirements, upon receiving applications from THDC India.</p>
