In a major push for enhancing power infrastructure in Haryana, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for an 800 MW modern thermal power unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar. This significant project, sprawling across 233 acres and with an investment of approximately ₹8,470 crore, is expected to greatly increase Haryana’s energy self-sufficiency. By providing an uninterrupted power supply to the state, this new unit aims to catalyze industrial growth and improve the overall standard of living for residents.

Highlighting the government’s multifaceted approach to enhancing power availability, Shri Modi detailed initiatives aimed at expanding power generation in Haryana, which currently produces 16,000 MW. He announced the goal of increasing this capacity to 24,000 MW in the coming years, showcasing a commitment to fulfill the energy demands of both industries and households. The Prime Minister reiterated that the continuation of these advancements is essential for achieving the vision of a developed India, empowering local industries, and ensuring that citizens have reliable access to electricity for their daily needs and entrepreneurial pursuits.
