Sanctoria, Asansol (WB), October 9, 2026: Emphasising the importance of linguistic diversity and unity, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Dr Satish Jha said that regional languages are the beads that preserve the rich cultural heritage of the company, while Hindi is the thread that binds them together.
Addressing the concluding-cum-prize distribution ceremony of Rajbhasha Mah 2026 on Friday, Dr Jha highlighted the complementary role of Hindi and regional languages in fostering cultural harmony and strengthening bonds among employees. He encouraged the gathering to promote the use of Hindi in official work while continuing to respect and cherish the richness of regional languages.

The month-long Rajbhasha Mah campaign, which concluded on September 30, was organised to encourage the use of Hindi in official communication through various activities and competitions.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (HR) emphasised the importance of promoting Hindi in day-to-day official work. Shri Girish Gopinathan Nair, Director (Technical/Projects & Planning) and Shri Chitaranjan Kumar, Director (Technical/Operations), were also present on the occasion.

An interactive quiz session added to the enthusiasm of the event, with students from various schools and participants in competitions organised during Rajbhasha Mah taking part.

The CMD and the directors distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions organised by the Rajbhasha Department during the month-long celebrations for employees and students of peripheral schools.

In the Rajbhasha C-category, Kunustoria Area secured first position, followed by Kajora Area in second place and Bankola Area in third. In the Rajbhasha A-category, Rajmahal Area clinched the first prize, while Mugma Area and SP Mines secured second and third positions, respectively.

Among the departments at the headquarters, the Company Secretariat secured first position, followed by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Department in second place, while the CMD’s Secretariat secured third position.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed emphasis on the progressive use of Hindi in official work while recognising the importance of preserving the linguistic and cultural diversity that enriches the organisation.

The main function was held at the DIC office, where Mr. Alok Verma, DIC, RSP along with other officers and employees took the pledge.  Similar pledge taking ceremonies were also organised in the Offices of the Executive Directors, CGMs and Hods  along with other officers and employees, reaffirmed their commitment to promoting Hindi in official correspondence and documentation.
