~ Builds on last season’s total of 1,04,777 kilograms of waste managed across the home fixtures ~

Bengaluru, May 28, 2025: Continuing their unwavering commitment to sustainability, the Gujarat Titans, for the third consecutive year, have shown excellence in managing waste from the world’s largest cricket stadium – the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Gujarat franchise have collected and processed an impressive 93,385 kilograms of waste in the seven home matches of the TATA IPL 2025 season. This adds on to the Titans’ holistic efforts in maintaining a sustainability-first approach across and beyond the IPL.

Gujarat Titans started this initiative in 2023 aligning with their larger goal of sustainability, and ever since, thousands of kilograms of waste have been collected, processed and repurposed through their concentrated all-round efforts. In the 2024 season, the initiative resulted in a total of 1,04,777 kilograms of waste being efficiently processed through recycling, composting, upcycling, reuse, or donation across the Titans’ home fixtures.

With a capacity exceeding 100,000 spectators, the Narendra Modi Stadium presents a unique opportunity—and responsibility—for scaling sustainable practices. Gujarat Titans are harnessing this platform to execute a comprehensive, end-to-end waste management program that ensures environmental impact is minimized without compromising fan experience.

The current season’s waste collection includes 83,761 kilograms of dry waste and 9,624 kilograms of wet waste, all of which are being processed using decentralized sorting, recycling, and composting systems. Excess food and materials are directed to donation channels, contributing to both environmental and social impact.

Gujarat Titans’ partnership with NEPRA Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. (NEPRA) enables them to manage the entire waste lifecycle from on-ground collection and segregation to transportation and final processing. The collective efforts also cater to stadium-wide sensitization campaigns and ensuring hygiene and waste practices among food stall operators. Visual communication via banners, posters, and bin signage enhances public awareness, supported by social media outreach amplifying the initiative’s goals.

Bengaluru, February 17, 2025: Gujarat Titans celebrated the successful finale of the ‘Junior Titans’ Season Two in Ahmedabad, which also marked their first collaboration with Pokémon, one of the most beloved global brands. The initiative, themed ‘Let’s Sport Out,’ is designed to spark a love for outdoor sports among children under 14. The Season Two finale was held at the St. Xavier’s High School Loyola Hall, Ahmedabad. The innovative initiative travelled across five cities in Gujarat, starting from Junagadh, then Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Palanpur, and finally culminating in Ahmedabad today. Children came out in huge numbers across the five cities with a participation of over 5000 children from 106 schools.

A unique initiative by Gujarat Titans, Junior Titans encourages children to participate in outdoor activities and seeks to establish a vibrant sports culture by nurturing a lifelong passion for outdoor sports from an early age. One of the key highlights of this season was the partnership with Pokémon. As a part of the association, children were given a chance to meet Pikachu, their beloved Pokémon, and participate in thrilling activities with exciting merchandise as prizes. In Palanpur and Ahmedabad, Pokémon also distributed goodie bags and stickers. This partnership will extend into Gujarat Titans’ cricketing season, allowing selected children to experience a live match day in association with Pokémon. Bengaluru, 13th February 2025: Torrent Group (“Torrent”), a diversified conglomerate having interests in Healthcare and Energy sectors, through its holding company Torrent Investments Private Limited (TIPL), has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire majority stake of 67% in the renowned Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Gujarat Titans (Irelia Sports India Private Limited) from Irelia Company Pte Ltd (“Irelia”) – currently fully owned by funds managed or advised by CVC. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals (including from BCCI).

As part of the deal, Irelia will retain a substantial minority stake of 33% in the franchise. This strategic partnership between one of India’s leading Business Groups and a globally renowned Private Equity firm, is the first of its kind in India’s sports sector and will unlock exciting opportunities for growth and collaboration.

With four cities successfully taking part in the ongoing second season, the initiative will now move to Ahmedabad for its final stop. The event received a massive response with the participation of over 1050 children from 20 schools across the city, including 15 private and five government schools.

“Titans Rising” was designed to provide a platform for aspiring BGMI players across India to compete at the highest level.
