BHEL Partners with Norway’s Hystar to Advance Green Hydrogen Technology in India

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a strategic tie-up with Norway-based Hystar AS to enable phased indigenisation and local manufacturing of PEM electrolyser systems for green hydrogen projects in India. The collaboration will strengthen BHEL’s capabilities in the emerging green hydrogen market and enhance its project execution potential. BHEL has already partnered with thyssenkrupp nucera India for alkaline electrolyser systems earlier this year. With the latest agreement, BHEL is positioned among the Indian players capable of offering both alkaline and PEM electrolyser solutions, supporting the country’s transition towards clean energy and strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities for green hydrogen technologies

PFC and MECON Forge Strategic Alliance for Infrastructure and Energy Growth

Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a Maharatna NBFC, and MECON Limited, a Miniratna CPSE under the Ministry of Steel, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to synergize financial expertise with engineering excellence. Signed on February 13, 2026, in New Delhi in the presence of CMDs Smt. Parminder Chopra and Shri Sanjay Kumar Verma, the agreement establishes a framework for MECON to provide technical consultancy, project management, and feasibility audits for large-scale infrastructure projects funded by PFC. Beyond traditional sectors like transport and logistics, the partnership will focus heavily on sustainable transitions, including green hydrogen, waste-to-energy, and carbon management, effectively accelerating India’s journey toward a resilient and green energy economy.
