Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), has been honored with the prestigious Green World Award 2026 in the “Climate Change” category. The award was presented at a formal ceremony held at Cardiff Castle, Wales, U.K., recognizing POWERGRID’s sustained commitment to environmental stewardship and adoption of climate-responsive operational practices. The award was received by Sh. Vipul Singh, Sr. DGM (CSR), and Sh. Manu Sinha, DGM (CSR).

POWERGRID’s recognition in the Climate Change category reflects its initiatives promoting energy-efficient transmission infrastructure, and integrating sustainability into project execution.

The Green World Awards, instituted by The Green Organisation, U.K., are among the globally recognised environmental honours, celebrating organisations that demonstrate measurable progress in sustainability, carbon reduction, and environmental management.

IREDA Wins Silver at Green Urja Awards for Excellence in Women in Green Energy & Energy Efficiency

Mumbai, February 4^th, 2026 : Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) today won Silver award under the category “Excellence Award for Women in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency” at the 6th Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards, organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi.

The award was presented by Shri Anil Razdan, Former Secretary (Power) along with other dignitaries and received on behalf of IREDA by Mrs. Mala Ghosh Choudhury, General Manager (HR); Ms. Durre Shahwar, General Manager (HR); and Mrs. Punnu Grover, Chief Compliance Officer, along with other women officers.

Congratulating on the achievement, Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director, IREDA, said, “This recognition reflects IREDA’s sustained efforts to build a supportive and inclusive workplace, where women professionals are encouraged to grow and contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy journey. With around 23% women employees, among the highest in CPSEs, IREDA firmly believes that empowering women is essential for building a strong and future-ready clean energy ecosystem.”

CMD, IREDA expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy; Hon’ble Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy; Secretary, MNRE; Board of Directors; and all stakeholders for their continued guidance and support.

NEW DELHI. Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has won the Silver Award under the category “Excellence Award for Women in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency” at the 6th Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi. The award was presented by former Power Secretary Shri Anil Razdan and received on behalf of IREDA by senior women officers, including Mrs. Mala Ghosh Choudhury and Ms. Durre Shahwar, General Managers (HR), and Mrs. Punnu Grover, Chief Compliance Officer.
