Govt of India has appointed Shri Ashwani Lohani (Retd IRSME:80) as Director, Prime Minister’s Museum and Library

The Government of India has appointed Shri Ashwani Lohani, a retired Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer from the 1980 batch, as Director of the Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) at Teen Murti, New Delhi. This appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is for a tenure of three years. Lohani succeeds Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, with Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, having served in the interim. A seasoned bureaucrat, Lohani has held several key positions, including chairman and managing director of Air India (twice), chairman of the Railway Board, and CEO at GMR Group after retiring from government service. He has also led the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and significantly contributed to the revival of both ITDC and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) during his leadership from 2001 to 2010.

Shri. Manoj Jain, who is Director (R&D) of BEL since September 26, 2022, assumed Additional Charge as Director (Bangalore Complex) on August 1, 2023. He was General Manager of the Electronic Warfare & Avionics SBU at BEL’s Bangalore Complex prior to his elevation to the Board.

Shri . Manoj Jain joined BEL in August 1991 as Probationary Engineer after completing his BE (Electronics) from REC Jaipur (MNIT) with Gold medal. In an illustrious career spanning over three decades, he has made significant contributions to the field of Research & Development.

Shri . Manoj Jain has received various R&D awards, Key Contributor Awards, Raksha Mantri’s Award, and SODET Awards. He has published many technical papers, applied for several patents, and delivered talks to Defence users and DRDOs.
