-Godrej Jersey signs an MoU to invest INR 150 Crore for setting up a dairy processing facility

Bengaluru, December 9,2025: Creamline Dairy Products Limited, a subsidiary of one of India’s largest and most diversified agribusinesses, Godrej Agrovet, selling products under the brand name Godrej Jersey, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana (GoT) on the sidelines of Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. The company will invest INR 150 Crore to set up a state-of-the-art dairy processing facility across 40 acres. With this new investment, the Godrej Industries Group’s total investment plans in the state now stands at over INR 10,000 Cr across its different businesses.

Almost 73 per cent of Indians consume less than the recommended dosage of protein every day. With dairy products – milk, curd, paneer, and milk-based drinks – being the most natural sources of protein, this investment will enable Godrej Jersey not only to strengthen the state’s dairy ecosystem but also to deliver products tailored to the evolving nutritional and protein needs of the consumers.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Sri A. Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri. Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to the Government Industries & Commerce, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department, Government of Telangana; Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Vice Chairperson – Godrej Industries Group; Anand Ramaswamy, Chief Operating Officer, Godrej Jersey and Rakesh Swami, Group President – Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group.

Commenting on the MoU, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana said, “Telangana is committed to creating an investor-friendly ecosystem that drives inclusive growth. Our partnership with Godrej Industries Group is a testament of the same. From strengthening agri-food processing capabilities to industrial expansion, these investments will generate employment, strengthen our agro and industrial base and position Telangana as a leading investment destination for business in India.”

Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Vice Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group, said,” As a group with a strong presence in the state of Telangana, today’s MoU reflects a shared commitment to accelerating industrial growth, creating employment, and developing high-impact infrastructure under a collaborative public-private approach. From advancing sustainable oil palm cultivation to growing our presence in urban housing to expanding our dairy footprint and enabling MSME growth via digital-first solutions, our partnership with the Government of Telangana is a step toward shaping an inclusive, innovative and resilient future.”

In 2023, Godrej Agrovet had announced an investment of ~INR 300 Crore to set up an Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam district of the state. With a state-of-the-art Crude Palm Oil Mill and an upstream R&D center set to open next year, the complex also has a provision of setting up a refinery in the near future.

Additionally, with quality infrastructure, schools, and lifestyle offerings, making regions in the state highly sought-after for homebuyers, Godrej Properties, part of the Godrej Industries Group, announced its foray into Hyderabad market early this year. With a strong plan of providing citizens with a premium residential offering, Godrej Properties will invest INR 10,000 Crore across four projects.

Sunil Kataria, CEO & MD, Godrej Agrovet Limited, said, “Consumer demand for value-added dairy products in India and also in the state of Telangana is witnessing a double-digit growth. Driven by urban lifestyles, rising health consciousness, and increasing preference for convenience, addressing the protein deficiency for nutritional needs of consumers is also critical. Dairy is one of the most natural sources of protein, and with our expertise of nearly three decades, Godrej Jersey is committed to leading this transformation. Our MoU with the Government of Telangana is a step towards building a facility that will manufacture best-in-class and innovative protein-rich dairy products to meet the evolving nutritional needs while also generating employment opportunities in the state.”

The project is expected to generate over 300 direct employment opportunities over a period of three years.

Rakesh Swami, Group President – Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group, said, “Telangana remains one of India’s most dynamic and investment-forward states, driven by its progressive and business-friendly outlook. Our partnership with the Government of Telangana reflects the Godrej Industries Group’s commitment to advancing inclusive growth—by empowering MSMEs, supporting women entrepreneurs, strengthening the agricultural ecosystem, and developing high-quality homes for the state’s citizens. We look forward to deepening this collaboration and contributing meaningfully to Telangana’s continued progress.”

Bengaluru, 5 June 2025: Godrej Industries Group (GIG), in collaboration with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Bhamla Foundation, has launched the #BeatPlasticPollution campaign, supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This initiative addresses critical environmental challenges, including plastic pollution and the need to protect soil, plants, and the broader environment to restore balance and sustain life on Earth.

Nadir Godrej, Chairman and Managing Director, Godrej Industries Group, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to sustainability and the importance of collective action said, ” At Godrej Industries Group, prioritizing people and the planet is embedded in our core values. Over the past decade, we’ve made significant strides toward sustainability—64% of our energy now comes from renewable sources, and we’ve reduced our plastic packaging intensity by more than 20%. We are proud to collect and recycle 100% of the pre- and post-consumer plastic packaging we produce.

Through our waste management projects, we’ve diverted over 63,000 MT of waste from landfills, freeing up land and reducing environmental impact. This campaign is a natural extension of our commitment to driving meaningful environmental change. By addressing critical challenges like plastic pollution and renewable energy, we aim to inspire collective action and create a sustainable legacy for future generations.”

Plastic waste is a pressing concern in India, with 9.46 million tonnes generated in 2023, nearly 43% of it being single-use plastic. To address this challenge, the campaign emphasizes the importance of adopting sustainable lifestyle choices to reduce plastic consumption and protect the planet’s resources.

Reinforcing this message, the Godrej Magic Ready-to-Mix Handwash Station was unveiled in the Bandra locality of Mumbai. This on-ground initiative, which will be active for over a week, encourages people to reuse bottles by refilling them at the handwash station. The Godrej Magic Handwash Station features a real-time dashboard displaying the amount of plastic one can save in a year by simply switching to refills—transforming personal sustainable choices into a visible, collective impact.

Commenting on the Godrej Magic Handwash initiative, Neeraj Senguttuvan, Head of Marketing – Personal Care, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), said, “India faces a mounting plastic waste crisis, with millions of tonnes generated annually and single-use plastics posing the biggest threat to environmental sustainability. At GCPL, we foster a sustainability-first culture, balancing business with environmental and social responsibility. Godrej Magic Handwash is a sustainable innovation that uses 50% less plastic, 75% less fuel, and 75% less paper compared to regular handwash. This campaign shows how small, conscious actions—like reusing bottles—can create meaningful, measurable change. Each refill used is one less bottle in a landfill. By visualizing this impact in real time, we’re turning awareness into action.”

The campaign also supported by Godrej L’Affaire, will culminate in a Cyclothon today, inviting participants to reaffirm their commitment to sustainability and reinforce the global call for environmental stewardship.

Bengaluru, 12th February, 2025 – Nadir Godrej, Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group, visited the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos recently, where he offered his insights on a range of topics from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and agriculture to climate change.

Mr. Godrej sounded an optimistic note on AI technology, highlighting its potential to be used as a force for good.

AI can be used in agriculture, he said, to catch disease and pest outbreaks early or analyse soil and crop conditions so farmers can better calibrate nutrient and fertiliser use.

In this way, it can help boost farmland productivity so that farmers can grow enough food to feed the world’s surging population. This is especially crucial at a time when climate change has made it harder than ever for them to grow that food.

Satellites can be used to photograph large tracts of land, he said. AI can then be deployed to study those photographs to determine early on whether there is an outbreak and what sort of outbreak it is, empowering farmers to take action before any disease or pest attack has had a chance to spread.

AI can similarly help analyse soil and crop health helping farmers gauge the timing and quantity of inputs like nutrients and fertilisers, avoiding overuse which can be damaging.

Mr. Godrej also addressed the thorny question of whether AI is going to take away human jobs. He compared the advent of artificial intelligence to other game-changing technological breakthroughs of the past, which resulted in productivity increases and ultimately created more jobs and opportunities.

While bullish on AI’s potential, Mr. Godrej sounded a note of caution saying AI needed to be used ethically. He advocated for a system of checks and balances to guard against any misuse.

~Group released a film ‘Access/Ability’ highlighting commitment to disability rights and accessibility

#AccessMatters

Bengaluru, 26 July 2024: To mark Disability Pride Month, Godrej Industries Group, a leading Indian conglomerate, released a short documentary, “Access/Ability,”. The film explores the transformative power of inclusivity through the lens of the Godrej Industries Group’s efforts to improve disability inclusion and accessibility at the Group’s workplaces.

The corporate landscape for individuals with disabilities is improving, but challenges persist. Persons with disabilities (PwDs) not only face barriers in recruitment and unconscious biases but also face challenges in workplace accessibility. However, progressive corporations are increasingly recognizing the value of accessibility and implementing strategies to address these issues – redesigning workspaces for universal accessibility, providing specialized training and mentorship programs, and fostering a culture of inclusivity.

Parmesh Shahani, Head of Godrej DEi Lab, stated, “With ‘Access/Ability,’ we aim to demonstrate that true inclusivity goes beyond physical adaptation, though this is fundamental. It’s about creating a culture where every individual, regardless of ability, feels valued and empowered to flourish and thrive. Through the DEI Lab and all our businesses, we hope to keep improving our infrastructure, policy, and culture of belonging in a way that means every individual feels welcomed at work.”

‘Access/Ability’ highlights key initiatives taken by the Godrej Industries Group to advance disability inclusion. These including accessible office spaces with personalized support and flexible work arrangements, dedication to incorporating universal design, and stories from employees who have found comfort, community, and optimism for the future through their work.

Key leaders from the Group including Manish Shah, MD of Godrej Capital, and Rohit Mohan, Chief Design Officer at Godrej Properties, further emphasize the importance of inclusive design and work functions in shaping a more equitable future.

The video aims to reshape perceptions and foster a culture of equality and innovation, not just within the workplace but in the broader world. It acknowledges and values the achievements, experiences, and struggles of persons with disabilities, aligning with the essence of Disability Pride Month.
