Bengaluru, December 03, 2025: To commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), India’s leading company committed to diversity, inclusion, and equality has released a powerful digital film spotlighting the stories, contribution, and everyday strength of employees with disabilities across its operations. Featuring real voices and real workplaces from GCPL’s accessible greenfield manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu — it underscores the company’s belief that inclusion is not a checkbox, but a way of working and a core expression of its values.

The film captures how GCPL prioritises disability inclusion, showing that behind every product lies a deeper story of people, purpose, and possibility. It offers a glimpse into moments on the shop floor—hands working with precision, teams collaborating with trust, and employees confidently applying their skills. Indian Sign Language (ISL) communication, accessible workstations and mixed-ability teamwork further show how GCPL’s culture of equity enables every individual to bring their whole self to work.

Sudhir Sitapati, MD & CEO, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) said, “We’ve made a lot of strides over the last few years in increasing PwD employment within GCPL. We now need to take our initiatives outside our gates, and we are taking small steps there—for example, the consumer sensory panel with PwD and collaborations with organisations that work with PwDs. People with disabilities and other sections make up a large part of India, and they are important consumer cohorts. And, consumer goods companies need to design products for people with disabilities and other sections of society.”

Vaibhav Ram, Global Head – HR, Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL), said, “At a time when disability employment in India remains far below its potential, GCPL is working to drive meaningful systemic change. GCPL has approximately 1% representation of PwD in our permanent workforce today and continues to actively expand inclusion across roles and locations. Disability inclusion is not a choice but a necessity for any organisation. Our new digital film reinforces this commitment by spotlighting our initiatives and conveying the larger message of what true on-ground inclusion looks like.”

Vaibhav further added, “Aligned with this commitment, we recently partnered with Atypical Advantage and Integrative Solutions to launch the ‘Work That Includes’ Toolkit — an industry-first milestone that helps other organisations with a strong, practical starting point for their disability inclusion journey. Rooted in learnings from companies like ours, it is designed to accelerate a broader, industry-wide change.”

The film follows GCPL’s broader inclusion journey of expanding representation across, PwDs along with women, LGBTQIA+ communities and other underrepresented groups; designing factories that welcome diverse talent; and building support systems ranging from on-site daycare to domestic violence response frameworks in international markets like Indonesia.

GCPL’s manufacturing units like Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh, and Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu setting a national benchmark for accessible, inclusive and high-performing factory environments. Through a structured approach that includes job mapping, infrastructure upgrades, Indian Sign Language (ISL) resources, and technical training, GCPL has demonstrated how disability inclusion can strengthen workplace culture while enhancing operational excellence.

With this film, GCPL reiterates its long-term commitment to strengthening disability inclusion across hiring, workplace design, skilling, product development, and community impact. The film closes with a powerful reminder that inclusion is not a destination but an ongoing journey — one accessible factory, one empowered employee, and one open door at a time.

Bengaluru, November 28, 2025: Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL), India’s leading company committed to diversity, inclusion, and equality, together with Atypical Advantage, the country’s largest livelihood platform for people with disabilities, successfully hosted the EmployAbility in Manufacturing Summit 2025 in Mumbai. The summit brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and inclusion advocates to advance disability inclusion within India’s manufacturing sector.

The manufacturing sector employs over 30 million people, yet a significant inclusion gap persists. In the private sector, the workforce participation rate for persons with disabilities (PwD) stands at only 36%, compared to roughly 60% for those without disabilities. The summit therefore aimed to shift the narrative from “why inclusion is needed” to “how companies can practically implement it.”

A key highlight of the event was the launch of ‘Work That Includes’- India’s first Employability Toolkit which is a practical, implementation-ready guide designed to help manufacturing units achieve meaningful disability inclusion. Unveiled in the presence of Ira Singhal (IAS), a national icon of resilience and disability advocacy, along with leading industry experts, the toolkit offers step-by-step guidance on job mapping, accessibility checklists, workflow redesigns, Indian Sign Language (ISL) glossaries, and real-world case studies. Researched and written by Integrative Solutions, the toolkit draws from insights and lessons gathered across sectors such as FMCG, automobiles, semiconductors, and more, providing a comprehensive pathway to integrating PwD into factory operations.

“As per the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) report, the 2.21% official disability figure understates the true scale of underrepresentation in India. And while inclusion drives performance, manufacturing has been one of the slowest sectors to adopt disability inclusion due to legacy processes and outdated assumptions around productivity and safety.” said Vineet Saraiwala, Founder of Atypical Advantage.

He added, “Corporates like GCPL demonstrate that inclusive hiring in manufacturing is both practical and value-adding when approached intentionally. GCPL invested heavily in readiness to ensure that persons with disabilities hiring succeeded both operationally and culturally. With the right systems and mindset, inclusion is not only possible — it is deeply rewarding for companies, communities, and the country.”

Over the past five years, Atypical Advantage has enabled PwD hiring across leading companies like GCPL, Nestlé, Micron, Tata Motors, Arabil Solutions, and NIVEA, demonstrating significant gains in productivity, retention, and shop-floor discipline.

GCPL’s manufacturing units in Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh, and Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu have set a national benchmark for accessible, inclusive, and high-performing factory environments. Through a structured approach that includes job mapping, infrastructure upgrades, Indian Sign Language (ISL) resources, and technical training, GCPL has demonstrated how disability inclusion can strengthen workplace culture while enhancing operational excellence.

Vaibhav Ram, Global Head – HR, Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL), said, “At a time when disability employment in India remains far below its potential, GCPL is committed to driving meaningful change. We have already employed more than 20 persons with disabilities across our factories, with plans to expand into additional roles and locations. It is important to recognise that disability inclusion is not just a choice but a necessity. The ‘Work That Includes’ Toolkit, launched in partnership with Atypical Advantage and Integrative Solutions, underscores this reality by giving companies a strong starting point for their inclusion journey. It captures learnings from organisations like ours and equips industry players with the guidance needed to take the next step.”

Commenting further on GCPL’s PwD inclusion journey Vaibhav Ram, said, “Our factories demonstrate that productivity and empathy can co-exist — and that accessible workplaces build stronger, more resilient teams. We are embedding disability inclusion into long-term capability systems by integrating disability-awareness and Indian Sign Language (ISL) modules into our Learning Management System (LMS), making inclusive communication and leadership an integral part of our core training pathways.”

‘Work That Includes’ Toolkit reinforces that inclusive manufacturing is not CSR—it is a strategic business advantage. As India’s manufacturing sector continues to expand, disability inclusion emerges as both a societal responsibility and a significant economic opportunity.

Bengaluru, 18 June 2025 : The revered Naga Sadhus have brought global recognition to India through the ‘Naga Saint Eye Test’ — a powerful public health initiative that won silver lion in the Health & Wellness category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2025. The campaign was led by Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) in collaboration with the Eyebetes Foundation, a charitable organisation committed to raising awareness about diabetes and preventable blindness.

India is home to nearly 100 million diabetics, of whom over 60% remain undiagnosed. Diabetes is also the leading cause of preventable blindness. Conceptualized by Godrej Creative Lab, the in-house creative studio of GCPL, ‘Naga Saint Eye Test’ took a bold and culturally rooted approach to spotlight this issue of diabetes-induced blindness.

Leveraging the spiritual aura and visibility of the Naga Sadhus, the health initiative transformed them into living eye vision testing charts, with bold Hindi letters painted on their bare backs in Devanagari script. Those unable to read the letters were guided to a free eye check-up camp. The initiative was conducted at the Triveni Sangam site during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Swati Bhattacharya, Global Head of Godrej Creative Lab, the in-house creative studio of GCPL, said, “The most complex human problems can have the simplest of solutions. Our first win was when the Naga Sadhu community said ‘yes’ to us. This win will now make the Eyebetes foundation get visibility all over the world. Our idea has travelled from the world’s biggest spiritual festival to the world’s biggest creative festival.”

Dr. Nishant Kumar, Founder, Eyebetes Foundation, said, “Preventable blindness due to diabetes is a cause close to my heart. In collaboration with Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Creative Lab, we transformed awareness into action at the Maha Kumbh in a way that was both culturally resonant and emotionally powerful. Using Naga sadhus as live eye charts captured public imagination and sparked thousands of on-ground vision screenings. Winning a Silver Lion at Cannes not only validates the creativity and purpose behind this campaign but also puts a global spotlight on an Indian innovation that is saving sight and lives.”

With 600 million people reached and 400,000 individuals received eye care, the ‘Naga Saint Eye Test’ became one of the largest public health interventions at Maha Kumbh 2025.

By introducing the social initiative at one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings, GCPL and Eyebetes Foundation brought this urgent public health issue to the forefront—using tradition and faith to connect with people in a way that was both meaningful and memorable.

Focuses on pet care, body wash, liquid detergents, deodorants, air fresheners, and sexual wellness for Growth

Bengaluru, 09.05.2025: Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) is sharpening its focus on emerging high-growth categories such as pet care, body wash, liquid detergents, deodorants, air fresheners, and sexual wellness, as it positions itself to tap into a revival in consumer demand over the next 12 to 18 months. The company’s renewed optimism is fuelled by easing food inflation, potential income tax cuts, and expected pay commission hikes.

“We are bullish about revival in demand over the next 12-18 months for a variety of reasons,” said Sudhir Sitapati, MD and CEO, GCPL. Despite rising palm oil prices, Sitapati termed the inflation as a “short-term blip,” adding that the company has only passed on 15–16% of the cost increase to consumers.

Strategic Pivot to High-Growth Categories

To navigate slowing momentum in legacy categories, GCPL is accelerating its presence in future-facing segments. In April 2024, the company launched its pet care brand, ‘Godrej Ninja’, in Tamil Nadu, capitalizing on its marketing and manufacturing capabilities.

Other high-performing innovations include Fab Liquid Detergent, priced at ₹99, which has achieved an annual run rate revenue of ₹250 crore within just 12 months. In the deodorant space, GCPL is expanding accessibility with the ₹99 antiperspirant ‘Bloq’ and a more affordable version of KamaSutra deodorant.

Following its acquisition of Raymond Consumer Care’s FMCG business in 2023, GCPL also added legacy brands like Park Avenue and KamaSutra, bolstering its presence in personal grooming and sexual wellness categories.

Sustained Innovation in Core Segments

The company’s household insecticides category continues to be a growth driver, with Goodknight and Hit delivering double-digit growth in Q4. GCPL is also innovating with a patented molecule (RMF) in its electric and incense-based products, aiming to provide safer, regulated alternatives to harmful, illegal incense sticks.

₹700 Crore Capex and Global Expansion

To support its category expansion and innovation pipeline, GCPL is investing ₹700 crore over the next two years to add production lines in its North and South India plants, and to set up a new manufacturing facility in Indonesia—a key international market.

Quick Commerce Emerges as a Key Channel

GCPL is also witnessing strong traction from quick commerce platforms, which Sitapati described as a fast-growing and margin-friendly channel, particularly for mid-size packs that offer operational and financial efficiency.

Looking Ahead

GCPL has projected mid-to-high single-digit volume growth in FY26 and double-digit EBITDA growth in FY25, driven by continued demand recovery and moderating input costs.

Sitapati remains optimistic that GCPL’s focus on the “categories of tomorrow” will help the company weather short-term challenges and position it for long-term success.

Business Performance

Commenting on the business performance, Sudhir Sitapati, said: We delivered a sequentially improving performance in Q4 FY 2025, despite market conditions remaining the same. Our Consolidated organic volumes for Q4FY25 grew by 6%, led by the India business growing volumes at 4% and Indonesia growing volumes at 5%. This led to full-year organic volume growth delivery at 4% for our consolidated business, 5% for India and 6% for Indonesia. Our Consolidated organic revenue growth for Q4 and FY 2025 stood at 7% and 4% respectively.

Demand conditions in India have continued to be impacted by headwinds in urban consumption. Surge in palm oil prices by more than 50% is negatively impacting our EBITDA margin. Our reported Standalone EBITDA margin at 22.6% is lower than our normative margin. However, buoyed by a good season, we had a blockbuster performance in Household Insecticides which grew volumes in strong double digit. Our categories of Air Fresheners, Laundry Liquids, etc. have continued to deliver strong underlying volume growth. This helped deliver 4% volume growth on top of a 4% pricing growth led largely by soaps. The volume growth on the non-soaps’ portfolio was high single digit with soaps volume growth impacted by volume-price rebalancing.

In Indonesia, we continue to consistently deliver healthy performance with 5% volume growth and EBITDA margin expansion. In organic terms, Africa, USA and the Middle East sales grew by a strong 23% in INR terms and delivered 17% EBITDA margin resulting in the fifth consecutive quarter of profit and margin expansion.

We are on track in our journey to reduce wasted cost and are deploying this to drive profitable and sustainable volume growth across our portfolio through category development. We remain committed to our purpose of bringing the goodness of health and beauty to consumers in emerging markets.

Bengaluru, May 01, 2025: To commemorate International Labour Day (May 1), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), a leading emerging markets company, has launched a moving digital film titled ‘Hands That Speak’. This initiative shines a spotlight on workforce diversity and inclusivity, with a heartfelt tribute to employees with disabilities working at GCPL’s flagship greenfield manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.

The film features GCPL employees, including individuals with hearing and speech disabilities, who narrate their stories through Indian Sign Language (ISL) — with subtitles for us who are yet to learn the language. Rather than being limited by silence, their hands become powerful voices of strength, precision, and pride. Set against the backdrop of a bustling factory floor, the film redefines communication and contribution, celebrating not just what individuals do—but who they are.

According to a 2021 report by UnearthInsight, India is home to nearly 30 million persons with disabilities (PwDs), yet only 11% are meaningfully employed. With this initiative, GCPL not only celebrates its people but also calls for systemic change in industries to unlock opportunities, open doors, and build truly inclusive workplaces.

Told through Indian Sign Language (ASL) and supported by subtitles, the film lets GCPL’s employees with hearing and speech disabilities take the lead—sharing their story not with spoken words, but with their hands. These hands don’t just build, pack, or create volumes. They’re symbols of pride, identity, and an unspoken strength that says it all. Set against the ambient hum of a functioning factory, Hands That Speak redefines traditional notions of voice, communication, and contribution. It offers an intimate glimpse into a world where silence is not a barrier but a language, where employees feel the rhythm of machines, contribute with precision, and speak volumes through purposeful action.

Sandhya Ramesh, General Manager – Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), said, “GCPL’s Chengalpattu factory’s commitment to respect and fairness, inspires meaningful change – both in the workplace and beyond. ‘Hands That Speak’ is a celebration of the incredible contributions of people with disabilities in our workforce. On Labour Day, we honour not just the work, but the spirit and individuality behind it. We hope this film sparks conversations and action across industries to make employment more accessible and equitable.”

‘Hands That Speak’ is part of GCPL’s ongoing efforts to champion equity in employment, highlight the power of silent strength, and inspire organizations to build a more inclusive labour force. GCPL’s newly launched Chengalpattu plant in Tamil Nadu stands as a testament to Godrej Consumer Products’ unwavering commitment to shaping the future of manufacturing, where innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity seamlessly converge. Along with 50% women employees, the plant has 5% representation from people with disabilities (PWD) and LGBTQIA+ communities. By breaking structural and social barriers, GCPL aims to enable more individuals, especially those with locomotor, speech, or hearing impairments, to contribute fully and proudly to the workforce.

GCPL Powers Up its Household Insecticides Category with Third Groundbreaking Innovation, Brings HIT Mosquito Aerosol with Thunderbolt Technology

Bengaluru, April 03, 2025: Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), a leading player in emerging markets and the household insecticide (HI) category, continues to strengthen its leadership through groundbreaking innovations and category expansion. In early 2024, GCPL introduced India’s first and only government-approved mosquito repellent incense sticks, ‘Goodknight Agarbatti.’ Building on this momentum, the company achieved another milestone in July 2024 with the development of ‘Renofluthrin,’ India’s first indigenously developed and patented molecule, delivering the most effective liquid vaporizer formulation for superior mosquito control and in just over a year, GCPL is set to launch another latest breakthrough under its pest control brand, Godrej HIT.

HIT caters to consumers seeking instant elimination of mosquitoes, particularly in scenarios where infestations run high. GCPL has re-engineered the popular Kala HIT mosquito spray with Thunderbolt Technology — its fastest and most powerful formulation yet. With this technology, Kala HIT mosquito aerosol now features a powerful new formulation called Metofluthrin (MFT), delivering 4X faster efficacy for instant relief with less aerosol usage. The improved formula delivers greater efficacy, allowing consumers to spray less while effectively killing mosquitoes, resulting in a longer-lasting product and enhanced value.

As part of the launch, HIT is offering a special introductory discount of nearly 20% — the 400ml can is available for ₹180 and the 625ml can for ₹250. Further enhancing the experience, Kala HIT has undergone a complete packaging revamp and now comes with a refreshing new fragrance.

Commenting on this development, Shilpa Suresh, Head of Marketing – Home Care, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), said, “At GCPL, we are committed to leading the household insecticides category by driving innovation and expanding the market. Aerosols form a significant part of the ₹7,500+ crore household insecticide market. Mosquito aerosols comprise nearly half of HIT’s revenue, making them the biggest driver of category expansion. Consumers demand quick knockdown action, and the new HIT aerosol with Thunderbolt Technology delivers just that. It’s our most powerful aerosol mosquito control solution to date. Through this launch and our ongoing innovations, we remain dedicated to providing safe, effective, and accessible solutions for every Indian home.”

Deadly mosquitoes that spread diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya, and Malaria often hide in the dark corners of our homes. To keep your family safe, it’s essential to use Kala HIT mosquito spray regularly in all hidden spots—under the bed, behind the sofa, and around curtains and cupboards. With its latest aerosol innovation, HIT further strengthens its position as the go-to brand for eliminating mosquitoes effectively.
