The police said the accused took the woman to a doctor after raping her, but when her condition deteriorated, they sent her home. meanwhile BSP supremo Mayawati attacked the Uttar Pradesh government, saying there is no rule of left in the state. “After Hathras and Balrampur incident, it is confirmed that there is no rule of law in UP,” Mayawati said.

Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi will visit Hathras in UP today to meet the family of the 19-year-old who was gang-raped and killed. The 19-year-old died on Tuesday, prompting outrage, protests and calls for justice. Even as the nation expressed outrage over the Nirbhaya-like case, the UP Police cremated her body in the dead of the night, while her family remained inside their house. The UP Police have, however, claimed that the cremation took place as per ‘the family’s wishes’. As the nation saw visuals of her last rites sans family, public outrage poured in. Balrampur Superintendent of Police Dev Ranjan Verma said the incident happened in the Gaisari area of the district. “The woman’s family members said she worked at a private firm,” he told The Indian Express. “On Tuesday, she did not return till late night. When they tried to contact her on phone, they could not reach her.”

Verma added that later in the night, the woman returned on a rickshaw, with glucose drips attached to her arm. “ She was rushed to a hospital, but died on the way,” he said.

“In the complaint, the family members have alleged that two youth raped the girl and then took her to a doctor,” Verma said. “When her condition deteriorated, instead of taking her to a hospital, they sent her home. We have arrested both the accused.” He added that a first information report was registered and further investigation was underway.

The woman’s mother said the 22-year-old was abducted while on her way to work in the morning, according to NDTV. When she failed to return in time, the family had approached the police

“The men had injected her with some substance due to which she lost consciousness,” the mother added. “Then they raped her… They broke her back, they broke her limbs. When my child returned, she could barely stand or speak.”

The mother said that after returning, her daughter complained of burning pain in her stomach. “The doctor at the local hospital said her condition was serious and advised that she be taken to Lucknow,” she added. “But she died when we were near Balrampur town.”

जिस अंदाज में यूपी पुलिस ने मंगलवार देर रात हाथरस की बलात्कार पीडिता का बिना परिवार वालों को साथ लिये ही अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया उससे इतना तो साफ हो गया है कि हाथरस के इस घृणित कार्य में केवल अपराधी ही नहीं अब सरकार और पुलिस भी शामिल हो गयी है. पुलिस तो अब ये तक कहने लगी है कि उस लड़की के साथ रेप हुआ या नहीं ये अभी जांच का विषय है . उत्तरप्रदेश पर सच में गंभीर सवाल खडे हो रहे है और उतने ही सवाल ये भी कि अगर ये किसी गैर बीजेपी राज्य में हुआ होता  तो क्या मीडिया उतना ही चुप रहता .

सवाल तो ये भी उठ रहा है कि अगर सरकार कानून व्यवस्था नहीं संभाल पा रही तो राज्यपाल आनंदी बेन पटेल क्यों चुप है . वो तो खुद एक महिला है कम से कम रिपोर्ट तो मांग लेती . महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल भगत सिंह कोशियारी से सीखिये वो तो कंगना रानाऊत से लेकर पायल घोष तक से मिल लेते है.बीएमसी अफसरों को हडका देते हैं. असल में मीडिया से लेकर सरकार तक सब इसलिए चुप है क्योंकि ये भाजपा शासित योगी सरकार है .

अलीगढ के आईजी पीयूष मोर्डिया ने तो कह दिया कि अभी बलात्कार की पुष्टि तक नहीं हुयी है लेकिन उनके पास इस बात का जवाब तक नहीं है कि पुलिस ने किस हैसियत से सफदरजंग अस्पताल से उस लड़की का शव लिया और बिना परिवार वालों के ही उसका अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया .

पुलिस का कहना है कि हाथरस गैंगरेप पीड़िता ने उपचार के दौरान विवेचक के सामने कई बार अपने बयान बदले थे। इसका विवेचक की रिपोर्ट में उल्लेख किया गया है। पीड़िता के अलग-अलग तिथियों में लिए गए बयान में अलग-अलग बातें सामने आई हैं। इतना ही नहीं, मेडिकल रिपोर्ट में रेप की पुष्टि नहीं हो पाई है।

उपचार के दौरान युवती के तीन बार बयान हुए। पुलिस अधिकारियों के मुताबिक, पहली बार में युवती ने रेप से जुड़ा कोई बयान नहीं दिया था। उसके बाद 19 सितंबर को बयान हुए, जिसमें कहा कि मेरे साथ छेड़छाड़ हुई है। बयान के आधार पर पुलिस ने धारा बदलकर आगे की कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी थी। उसके बाद 22 सितंबर को बयान दर्ज हुए। जिसमें पीड़िता ने कहा था कि उसके साथ रेप हुआ है। नए बयान के आधार पर पुलिस ने आगे की कार्रवाई शुरू कर आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया था। मेडिकल रिपोर्ट पर गौर करें तो उसमें युवती के साथ रेप की पुष्टि नहीं हुई है।

घटना के अनुसार, 14 सितंबर की सुबह गांव चंदपा की युवती अपनी मां के साथ खेत पर गई थी। वह खेत में घास काट रही थी। इसी बीच संदीप नाम का एक युवक वहां आ धमका और छेड़छाड़ करने लगा। युवती ने विरोध किया तो हमला बोल दिया। युवती के चिल्लाने पर युवती की मां आरोपी की तरफ दौड़ पड़ी। इतने में आरोपी मौका पाकर फरार हो गया था। घायल युवती को आनन-फानन में अस्पताल ले जाया गया।

युवती के भाई ने करीब 10:30 बजे थाने पहुंचकर बताया कि उसकी बहन का गला दबाकर मारने का प्रयास किया गया। मामले में एफआईआर दर्ज हुई। युवती की गंभीर हालत को देखते हुए उसको एएमयू के जेएन मेडिकल कॉलेज में भर्ती कराया गया। यहां चिकित्सकों ने देखा कि युवती की कमर की एक हड्डी टूटी है। इतना ही नहीं, दोनों पैर भी सही से काम नहीं कर रहे थे।

The execution took place less than two hours after the Supreme Court dismissed the final petition of the convicts.

“The convicts had not expressed any last wish or will to authorities,” an official said.

They were woken at 3:30 am, around the time they learnt they had reached the end of the road in courts.

The four men refused to have their breakfast, their last meal before being taken to the gallows and were up much of the night, prison officials. They were asked to take a bath but none of them did.

The entire jail was on lockdown since last night, and officials said, few other prisoners in Asia’s largest prison facility could sleep a wink ahead of the first execution since 2015.

Jail doctors did a medical check-up of the four men. There were only five people who witnessed the hanging. The jail superintendent, deputy superintendent, the resident medical officer, the district magistrate and another jail staff member.

The execution was carried out by hangman Pawan Jallad who had done several “dummy executions”.

Three convicts – Pawan, Vinay and Mukesh -did labour work at Tihar Jail. The money for the work they did did during their time in prison will be sent to their families, jail officials said. Akshay Thakur, however, has no earnings as he did not engage in any labour work at Tihar. All their belongings too will be sent to their families.

Before he was taken to the gallows, Vinay pleaded with jail officials and sought forgiveness, jail sources said. Vinay had earlier in February attempted to hurt himself by banging his head against a wall in his cell.

Their bodies were kept hanging for 30 minutes as per the protocol in Delhi Prison Rule, following which a doctor declared them dead.

Their bodies were move to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for autopsy. A five-member panel will do the post-mortem before they are disposed as per their religion.

The four convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case, who were hanged on Friday morning, had not expressed any last wish, according to officials. “The convicts had not expressed any last wish or will to authorities,” an official said. Death row convicts are asked about their last wish before hanging.

Investigating officers of the 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case on Friday called the hanging of the four convicts a ”real tribute” to the 23-year-old physiotherapy intern who was savagely brutalised in an empty moving bus in a South Delhi neighbourhood. Pramod Singh Kushwaha, then the additional DCP (South) and who headed the investigation team, said each and every member of the team pitched in to prepare a watertight case against the convicts.

After the postmortem, the bodies of the convicts will be handed over to their respective families. The families of the convicts will have to give an undertaking in writing that they will not make a public demonstration of any kind in relation to the cremation or burial of the bodies.

The incident took place near the Harbour Line rail track in Sable Nagar locality late Monday night when the woman, a resident of Worli area, was looking to go to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Kurla area to board a train to Katni in Madhya Pradesh, the official said.

Before the incident, she arrived at Kurla in a train from Byculla. On reaching the Kurla bridge, she asked a passerby for directions to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and followed him on the Harbour Line route, the official said.

While walking, the woman mid-way went to relieve herself in the bushes and the passerby, who was walking ahead of her to show her the way, disappeared, he said.

At that time, two men, who were consuming drugs in the bushes, allegedly attacked the woman and raped her, he said.

Two other men, who were passing by on a two-wheeler, stopped at the spot and also allegedly raped the woman and had unnatural sex with her, the official said.

The accused also robbed the woman of Rs 3,000 and snatched her “mangalsutra” worth around Rs 25,000 before letting her go, he said.

After the brutalised victim walked some distance, she met a woman who helped her alert Nehru Nagar police.

One of the accused who was following the woman after the incident was identified by the woman (who helped the woman) as resident of the locality where she lived, he said.

Based on the inputs, the police swung into action and arrested all the four accused within hours of the crime, Nehru Nagar police station’s senior inspector Vilas Shinde said.

The accused have been identified as Shrikant Bhogle, Sonu Tiwari, Nilesh Baraskar and Siddharth Wagh.

Three of the accused were caught from Kurla, while Wagh was caught from suburban Vikhroli, he said.

The accused have been booked under rape, unnatural sex, assault and other relevant provisions, the official said.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said that accused Mohammad Arif,  Naveen,  Siva and Chennakeshavulu were killed in a police encounter in Chatanapalli, Shadnagar between 3 am and 6 am today.

Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi said that just as the police did justice in the Telangana case, similarly Nirbhaya’s culprits should also be punished. She said that the culprits of his daughter Nirbhaya have been sentenced to death by the Supreme Court but they have not yet been hanged. We have not got justice yet .

The victim’s parents have sought court’s direction to Tihar Jail authorities to speed up the execution of the rape convicts.

The court will hear the matter on November 25.

They moved the application since the earlier two judges hearing the matter got transferred and the matter is getting adjourned continuously, the plea said.

The special fast track court, set up to hear cases of sexual harassment cases exclusively, of Patiala House Court is now vacant and no judge has been appointed till now.

The application said that victim’s parents approached the court since the convicts have exhausted all legal remedies.

In December last year, the parents of Nirbhaya, the 23-old paramedic who was gang-raped in December 2012, approached the court to fast-track the procedure to hang all four convicts in the case.

Supreme Court on December 12, 2018, dismissed the PIL seeking a direction to the Centre to execute the death penalty awarded to four convicts — Mukesh, Pawan, Vinay and Akshay — in the sensational Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case.
