The development of the airport is in line with the vision of the Prime Minister towards boosting connectivity and creating a future-ready aviation sector. A special focus of this grand vision has been on the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) that is witnessing the development of multiple new international airports including the recently inaugurated Kushinagar airport and the under construction international airport at Ayodhya.

This airport will be the second international airport to come up in Delhi NCR. It will help decongest the IGI Airport. It is strategically located and will serve the people of cities including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Agra, Faridabad and neighbouring areas.

The airport will be the logistics gateway of northern India. Due to its scale and capacity, the airport will be a gamechanger for UP. It will unleash the potential of UP to the world, and help establish the state on the global logistics map. For the first time, an airport in India has been conceptualised with an integrated multi modal cargo hub, with a focus on reducing the total cost and time for logistics. The dedicated cargo terminal will have a capacity of 20 lakh metric tonne, which will be expanded to 80 lakh metric tonne. Through facilitating seamless movement of industrial products, the airport will play a crucial role in helping the region attract huge investments, boost rapid industrial growth, and enable reach of local products to national and international markets. This will bring new opportunities for numerous enterprises, and also create tremendous employment opportunities.

The airport will develop a Ground Transportation Centre that will feature a multimodal transit hub, housing metro and high-speed rail stations, taxi, bus services and private parking. This will enable seamless connectivity of the airport with road, rail, and metro. Noida and Delhi will be connected to the airport through hassle free metro service. All major nearby roads and highways like the Yamuna Expressway, Western Peripheral Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and others will be connected to the airport. The airport will also be linked to the planned Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail, enabling the journey between Delhi and airport in only 21 minutes.

The airport will also house a state-of-art MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhauling) Service. The design of the airport is focussed on low operating costs and seamless and fast transfer processes for passengers. The airport is introducing a swing aircraft stand concept, providing flexibility for airlines to operate an aircraft for both domestic and international flights from the same contact stand, without having to re-position the aircraft. This will ensure quick and efficient aircraft turnarounds at the airport, while ensuring a smooth and seamless passenger transfer process.

It will be India’s first net zero emissions airport. It has earmarked dedicated land to be developed as forest park using trees from the project site. NIA will preserve all native species and be nature positive throughout the development of the airport.

The development of the first phase of the airport is being done with a cost of over Rs 10,050 crore. Spread over more than 1300 hectares of land, the completed first phase of the airport will have a capacity to serve around 1.2 crore passengers a year and work on it is scheduled to be completed by 2024. It will be executed by the international bidder Zurich Airport International AG as concessionaire. The groundwork for the first phase regarding land acquisition and rehabilitation of the affected families has been completed.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said today is a milestone in India’s democratic history, filled with the idea of ​​Indianness. He added that the start of the construction of Parliament House of India is one of the most important stages of our democratic traditions. He gave a call to the people of India, to build this new building of the Parliament together. He said it can’t be more beautiful or more pure than the new building of our Parliament witnessing  when India celebrates 75 years of its independence.

The Prime Minister recalled the moment when he entered the Parliament House for the first time in 2014 as an MP. He said that when he entered the Parliament House for the first time, he bowed his head and saluted this temple of democracy, before stepping into it. He remarked that many new things are being done in the new Parliament House that will increase the efficiency of the MPs and modernize their work culture. He said if the old Parliament House gave direction to post-independence India, the new building would become a witness to the making of a ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat.’ If work was done to fulfill the needs of the country in the old Parliament House, then the aspirations of 21st century India will be fulfilled in the new building.

The Prime Minister remarked that democracy elsewhere is about election procedures, governance and administration. But democracy in India is about life values, it is the way of life and the soul of a nation. He added India’s democracy is a system developed through centuries of experience. There is also a life mantra, an element of life as well as a system of order in the democracy in India. He said it is India’s democratic strength that is giving new energy to the development of the country and giving new faith to its countrymen. He said democracy in India is constantly being renewed every year and it is seen that voter turnout is increasing with every election.

The Prime Minister remarked that democracy in India has always been a means of resolving differences along with governance. Different views, different perspectives empower a vibrant democracy. He said our democracy has moved forward with the goal that there is always room for differences so long as it is not entirely disconnected from the process. He stressed that policies and politics may vary but we are for the service of the public and there should be no differences in this ultimate goal. He added whether debates occur within the Parliament or outside, the determination towards national service and dedication towards national interest should be reflected in them constantly.

The Prime Minister urged the people to to remember that it is the responsibility of the people to awaken the optimism towards democracy which is the basis of the existence of the Parliament House. He reminded that every member who enters Parliament is accountable towards the public as well as the Constitution. He said there are no rituals as such to consecrate this temple of democracy. It is the representatives of the people who come to this temple that will consecrate it. He said their dedication, their service, conduct, thought and behavior will become the life of this temple. Their efforts towards the unity and integrity of India will become the energy that gives life to this temple. He added when each public representative will offer his knowledge, intelligence, education and experience fully here, then this new Parliament House will gain sanctity.

The Prime Minister urged the people to take the pledge to keep India First, to worship only the progress of India and the development of India, every decision should increase the strength of the country and that the country’s interest is paramount. He asked everyone to take the pledge that there will be no greater interest for them than national interest. Their concern for the country will be more than their own personal concerns. Nothing will be more important to them than the unity, integrity of the country. Dignity and fulfillment of the constitution of the country will be the biggest goal of their life.

However, when love exists only for joy, it is the love of the free. The love which seeks to own & control its lover, becomes bereft of joy as it is drowned in the sorrow of insecurity. True love is free, it feels joy in its act of giving, & feels no pain, but instead enjoys the dance of bliss.

We need to understand what causes intolerance. We need to analyse so as to better introspect if we can improve ourselves, or correct our narrow mindedness.

Let’s shoot – intolerance arises from the ABC factor.

* AMBITION – When we aim too high, we often become greedy, impatient – and suddenly intolerance shows. We are jealous of others success, and our ambition is to be better than the rest. How often we fail to enjoy the journey, and just keep dreaming of the destination ! Ambition is not wrong, but when it becomes relative to others, and not for oneself only, intolerance rises. So beware of ambition where it is measured in relative success and not absolute success.

* BELIEFS – Some of us hold such strong beliefs – religious, political, or social – that we become intolerant to other lines of thoughts. It is not bad to believe in something, but it is intolerant to believe that only your thought is right in the world. Hold on to your thoughts but not with the fanaticism of a terrorist but with gentle acceptance of other thoughts floating around. People think the way they think due to multiple experiences, and environments – we need to allow everything to “live and let live”.

* COMMUNICATION – Often people communicate in a rather curt, abrupt, and rude manner. It appears they are intolerant. Sometimes that may not even be the intention. We all need to work on more gentleness, caring, and submissiveness in our communication. Communication is not a war of words and people, instead it is the art of practicing intimacy with others.

These are the ABC of the causes.

If we concentrate on the core, ABC can also mean :
Accept Beliefs Completely

When we learn to accept all beliefs, and all types of people and personalities, intolerance will be buried 1000 feet underground. Young children will ask their parents “where and what is intolerance ?”. Their parents will be at a loss to answer. Because they will find no such example to show in the world. Our world will then be like heaven. Heaven will have descended. We will seek its pleasures here itself. Because all of us will tolerate, and accept all. There will be no need to fight someone, because we will accept others. The world will experience the most calming, and soothing peace like never before. Even if this is a dream, let’s get up from this dream happy, and hopeful, and more knowledgeable. Because tolerance is not a dream alone, it is a most sublime attitude. Something through which we can buy our inner peace.

“Patients often leave getting their Botox to the last minute,” said Dr. Murad Alam, professor of dermatology at North-western University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Northwestern Medicine physician. “If people get their botulinum toxin right before a social engagement or important work event, they may worry it won’t start working in time. Speeding up the effects could be important to people.”

For people who can’t wait the three or four days for the wrinkle smoothing effects of botulinum toxin (Botox) injections to kick in, a new Northwestern Medicine study shows facial exercise after the injections speeds the change in appearance by about one day. In addition, it’s helpful to be able to tell patients facial exercise is truly evidence based, Alam said.

Conventional wisdom in the medical community used to be exercising the treated muscles would make Botox work sooner. Then, some doctors suggested it didn’t seem to make much of a difference, and it fell out of favour, Alam said. “But we wondered who was right,” Alam said. “Since there had not been any well-designed randomized studies comparing exercise and no exercise side-by-side, we decided to do one.”

In the study, 22 adult women with forehead wrinkles were treated with botulinum toxin. Half were then asked to exercise their facial muscles over four hours after the injections; the other half were not. The exercises included raised motions of the forehead and scowls (i.e., knitting the brows) in three sets of 40 repetitions separated by 10 minutes. Six months later, after the treatments’ effects had worn off, participants were retreated. This time, the experiment was reversed, with those who had exercised last time now avoiding facial exercise, and the others performing exercises.

Both dermatologists and participants rated forehead wrinkles to be better in two to three days after treatment when injections were followed by facial exercise, compared to three to four days without exercise. (J Amer Academy Dermatol 25 October 2018).
