The 50:50 JV between ONGC and EverEnviro aligns with the Government of India’s initiatives, including the Global Bio-Fuels Alliance and the ambitious goal of achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2070. By harnessing diverse feedstocks such as agri waste, agro-industrial waste, energy crops, and municipal solid waste (MSW), the partnership aims to mitigate approximately 7.5 lakh tons of CO2 equivalent annually.

EverEnviro aims to establish over 100 CBG plants across India based on diverse feedstock, including municipal solid waste (MSW), agro waste, and agro-industrial waste. The organisation is already executing 20+ CBG projects across Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab with a significant capital investment of nearly Rs 2,000 Crores which will result into a robust output of 320 metric tons per day of CBG.

Technology transfer aimed at optimising the pre-treatment phase in CBG plants

21st February, Mumbai: EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt Ltd, India’s leading compressed bio gas developer through its associate partner Thermax Bioenergy Solutions Pvt Ltd (TBSPL) has inked an MoU with European Sustainable Solutions ApS (EUSUSO-Denmark). This aims to integrate EUSUSO’s patented Gemidan Ecogi technology in EverEnviro’s upcoming MSW based CBG plants across India to boost CBG production. The MoU was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Danish Foreign Minister Mr Lars Lokke Rasmussen.

European Sustainable Solutions ApS is a technology leader in waste management, bioenergy and green fuel production in Europe. The Danish urban municipal waste management handling technology is one of the most advanced in Europe. Gemidan Ecogi technology has shown promising results in Europe by effectively optimising the pre-treatment phase in CBG plants. With an efficiency rate of 99.996%, this technology ensures careful segregation of organic and inorganic waste components and thereafter converts the organic constituents into bio-pulp that can be directly sent for biogas production.

This challenge can be navigated by embracing advanced technologies for generating clean fuels, decreasing methane emissions, promoting circularity, creating new employment opportunities, and rejuvenating soil health with fermented organic manure produced as byproducts of CBG production. The new technological overhaul will give a fillip to the Indian government’s GOBARdhan initiative by accelerating the establishment of MSW based Compressed Bio Gas plants in the country. EverEnviro is already in process of establishing 8 MSW based CBG plants across New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

This letter is signed under CGD Synchronisation scheme and the compressed bio gas produced at EverEnviro’s plants will be directly fed into IGL’s city gas distribution network.

In September 2023, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) sealed a joint venture with EverEnviro to form a 50:50 partnership for setting up additional CBG plants nationwide. EverEnviro is already executing about 20 CBG projects across the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab with a significant capital investment of nearly Rs 2,000 Crores which will result into a robust output of 320 metric tons expected per day of CBG.
