NEW DELHI. During the inauguration of the 2nd batch of the DAKSH leadership program, Dr. P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, emphasized the vital role that Public Sector Units (PSUs) play in shaping India’s industrial and infrastructure landscape. He highlighted that PSUs are the architects of the nation’s development, contributing significantly to economic growth and nation-building efforts. Mishra ji underscored their importance in providing stability in an increasingly volatile global environment, noting that PSUs have the unique capacity to drive development, energy transition, and technological innovation while maintaining resilience and continuity in essential sectors.

He further articulated that PSUs must evolve to remain competitive and relevant in the face of emerging global challenges. According to him, the future of public enterprises depends on their ability to innovate, adopt new technologies, and foster a culture of excellence and efficiency. Mishra ji encouraged the leaders in the public sector to leverage opportunities offered by programs like DAKSH to broaden their horizons, sharpen their judgment, and cultivate a forward-looking mindset that aligns with India’s vision of a self-reliant and technologically advanced economy.

Dr. Mishra’s remarks also reflected his belief that the public sector is uniquely positioned to lead India’s energy transition and sustainable development. As the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, he conveyed confidence that with capable and visionary leadership, PSUs can continue to be the driving force behind India’s growth story. His vision underscores the importance of nurturing high-caliber leaders through capacity-building initiatives like DAKSH, ensuring that PSUs remain agile, innovative, and capable of addressing the complex challenges of the future while contributing to national progress.
