इस महोत्सव का उद्घाटन दिल्ली विधानसभा के माननीय अध्यक्ष श्री विजेन्द्र गुप्ता ने किया।

नई दिल्ली नगर पालिका परिषद (NDMC) के अध्यक्ष श्री केशव चंद्र भी मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे। उन्होंने कहा कि NDMC कला, संस्कृति और साहित्य को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और भविष्य में दिल्ली साहित्य महोत्सव के साथ साझेदारी को और मजबूत करना चाहता है।

इस अवसर पर यूनेस्को साउथ इंडिया के निदेशक और प्रतिनिधि श्री टिम कर्टिस ने भी विशेष संबोधन दिया।

अपने उद्घाटन भाषण में श्री विजेन्द्र गुप्ता ने कहा,

“साहित्य कोई विशेषाधिकार नहीं, बल्कि सभी का अधिकार है। यह केवल पढ़े-लिखे लोगों के लिए नहीं, बल्कि हर व्यक्ति के लिए है। साहित्य समाज का दर्पण होता है और ऐसे महोत्सव सुनिश्चित करते हैं कि हर वर्ग की आवाज़ सुनी जाए और उसका सम्मान हो। दिल्ली, जो विचारों, कला और अभिव्यक्ति की प्राचीन धरोहर रही है, आज भी भारत की सांस्कृतिक राजधानी के रूप में खड़ी है। ऐसे आयोजन इसी परंपरा को जीवंत रखते हैं।”

महोत्सव की शुरुआत एक विचारोत्तेजक पैनल चर्चा से हुई –

“दिल्ली: कला, संस्कृति और विरासत का केंद्र – सोशल मीडिया की भूमिका”।

दिल्ली साहित्य महोत्सव एक ऐसा मंच है जो लेखकों, विचारकों, कलाकारों, राजनयिकों और जनप्रतिनिधियों को एक साथ लाकर विचार, कल्पना और कहानी के उत्सव को जीवंत करता है। 2013 से आरंभ हुआ यह महोत्सव दिल्ली की विविधतापूर्ण और समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक परंपरा का उत्सव बन चुका है।

DLF has launched a new 34 acre project Valley Gardens at Panchkula.

“We are developing 424 independent floors in this project. The construction work will start after the monsoon season and the project will get completed in the next three years,” said, DLF’s Group Executive Director and Chief Business Officer Aakash Ohri.

The floors will be of around 3,500 square feet area each. There will be four floors on 500 square yards plot.

Asked about project cost and sales realisation, Ohri said: “We own this land historically. We expect a sales realisation of about Rs 1,300 crore from this project.”

The company has initially launched 200 independent floors. It will launch the remaining in two tranches.

The project, nestled in the foothills of the Shivaliks, supplements the existing 175-acre site of The Valley, a residential development in Panchkula and home to over 1,400 families.

“In the past two years, we have witnessed a good response to low-rise independent floors by buyers in the Delhi-NCR region,” Ohri said.

He noted that independent floors have always been in demand in North India, but there was not enough supply.

Ohri said the supply has now improved.

DLF has launched independent floors in Gurugram.

Meanwhile, DLF Ltd is targeting a 10 per cent growth in its sales bookings to about Rs 8,000 crore this fiscal.

Its sales bookings jumped to Rs 7,273 crore in 2021-22 fiscal from Rs 3,084 crore in the previous year.

Already, in the first quarter of this fiscal, DLF’s sales bookings doubled to Rs 2,040 crore from Rs 1,014 crore in the year-ago period.

DLF is the largest real estate company in terms of market capitalisation. It has so far developed more than 153 real estate projects comprising over 330 million square feet of area.

The group has 215 million square feet of development potential across residential and commercial segment.

DLF group has a rent-yielding commercial portfolio of over 40 million square feet.

It holds bulks of rental assets in DLF Cyber City Developers Ltd (DCCDL), which is a joint venture between the company and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC.

DLF reported a 39 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 469.57 crore in the quarter ended June on better sales.

Its net profit stood at Rs 337.10 crore last year.

Total income rose to Rs 1,516.28 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal from Rs 1,242.27 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

VISHWAS, a not-for-profit organization, Sector 46, Gurugram in support with DLF Foundation organized an Inclusive walk to promote awareness on vital issues of Inclusion and Equality for people with disabilities. The One km Inclusive walk was flagged off from Dell office (another supporter in this endeavor), sector 43, Gurugram and moved towards sector 53. The walk saw the participation of more than 300 participants. The participants included children with disabilities along with representatives from various other organizations and prominent corporates.

The Inclusive walk was organized to mark the World Disability Day with a message that disability is not inability and specially-abled has the potential to contribute equally, provided they get choices and opportunities in a dignified and barrier-free environment. The walk was followed by cultural programs and snacks.

Vinay Sahni, CEO, DLF Foundation emphasized, “The world is fast recognising the value of inclusion as a core value. This walk promises to be a wake-up call for people to raise awareness and sensitize others towards persons with disability”.

‘Our programmes are rooted in the fundamental belief of inclusiveness and equality. We believe that everyone has the right to access basic healthcare, education and work options irrespective of disability, gender, class or caste. We would like the industry to open more job opportunities to the specially-abled workforce so that there is inclusive growth’, said Neelam Jolly, Founder, Vishwas NGO.

In line with the United Nations initiative, we have been organizing the World Disability Day celebrations since 2005’, she added.

One of the young participants in the walk said, “We all are gathered here to spread the message that no disability can steal the ability, zeal and the courage to live. We are celebrating our strength, not weakness – World disability day”.

International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992, by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
