He received the award from Dr S. Somnath (Chairman, ISRO & Secretary, Department of Space).With over 34 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, Sh. Gupta is a certified PMP and has led execution of several mega Projects both in India and overseas.

Sh. Gupta is also on the board of several GAIL joint ventures, including Talcher Fertilizer Limited, ONGC Petro-additions Limited (OPaL), South East Asia Gas Pipeline (SEAGP).

During the event, he shared his insights on various aspects of Project Management. He specifically highlighted the significance of visionary leadership, ownership, knowledge, active involvement, decisiveness, stakeholder management, teamwork etc. as essential attributes for the efficient, swift and successful execution of mega projects.

Besides several distinguished dignitaries, Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy CMD, NBCC and Shri N. Senthil Kumar, Director (Pipelines), IOCL were also present during the occasion.

During his talk, Sh. Gupta shared the key initiatives by GAIL to create the requisite pipeline infrastructure and connect National Gas Grid (NGG) so that natural gas reaches the remotest corners of the country and the gas share in the energy mix is enhanced from the present 7% to 15% as envisioned by Govt. of India. He reiterated the steadfast commitment of GAIL for building enabling infrastructure against all odds and multi-faceted challenges and ensuring natural gas supply in a secure.
