In his address, Mr. Verma stressed upon the need of implementation of the Official Language (Rajbhasha) in daily official functions, documentation, and communication. He urged all departments to adopt bilingual/trilingual communications in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.  The Executive Directors gave suggestions regarding enhancing use of Rajbhasha in more official communications.

The session comprised a brief presentation by Ms. Lolati Toppo, AGM (PR-Rajbhasha) on the activities of Rajbhasha Department. Ms. Archana Satpathy, GM (PR) & CoC and Member Secretary (OLIC) elaborated on the various check points pertaining to implementation of Rajbhasha.

In his address, Mr. Bhowmick highlighted the importance of Project Nischay and the need of its implementation in the plant to ensure safety of all. “It is our responsibility to ensure everyone’s safety in the plant. Project Nischay has come a long way but we need to cover more ground to ensure safety of each individual, even in the mines” he added. The DIC also said that the plant should work towards a goal where even the last person in the hierarchy line should also be able to analyze the risk and avert it.

Mr. Suryawanshi applauded the efforts of the Safety Engineering department and other allied departments for their efforts in bringing a positive safety culture in the plant. Expressing satisfaction over the survey results, he assured all possible support from the top management to make RSP the safest steel plant in India.

Mr. Behuria exhorted the collective to manage hazards effectively and emphasized on creating more awareness on safety among the employees. He assured all budgetary support towards safety of the plant and its employees.

Earlier, a brief presentation was made on the overview of the ‘Leadership Feedback’ by Mr. Raja Debnath, Consultant of M/s E&Y giving a comprehensive report on the cultural transformation of safety in RSP and the impact of Project Nischay in the last two years.

It is noteworthy that M/s E&Y had conducted a detailed survey to map the impact of Project Nischay on various parameters like leadership, process, use of digital tools, etc. He also presented a roadmap ahead for RSP as to make the workplace better and safer, with the ultimate objective of zero harm.

At the outset, Mrs. Asha Karta, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) delivered the welcome address while Mr. Abakasa Behera, GM (Safety Engineering) presented a formal vote of thanks. Ms. Prangya Nath, Assistant Manager (Safety) anchored the event.
