Ministry of External affaires and many celebrities including AJAY DEVGAN, SACHIN TENDULKAR , KARAN JOHAR, ANUPAM KHER and LATA MANGESHKAR objected foreigners tweet on farmers protest and said India is capable to deal with its internal matter and no out sider should comment on this .

In a Press Statement on recent comments by foreign individuals and entities on the farmers’ protests MEA said The Parliament of India, after a full debate and discussion, passed reformist legislation relating to the agricultural sector. These reforms give expanded market access and provided greater flexibility to farmers. They also pave the way for economically and ecologically sustainable farming.

A very small section of farmers in parts of India have some reservations about these reforms. Respecting the sentiments of the protestors, the Government of India has initiated a series of talks with their representatives. Union Ministers have been part of the negotiations, and eleven rounds of talks have already been held. The Government has even offered to keep the laws on hold, an offer iterated by no less than the Prime Minister of India.

Yet, it is unfortunate to see vested interest groups trying to enforce their agenda on these protests, and derail them. This was egregiously witnessed on January 26, India’s Republic Day. A cherished national commemoration, the anniversary of the inauguration of the Constitution of India, was besmirched, and violence and vandalism took place in the Indian capital.

Some of these vested interest groups have also tried to mobilise international support against India. Instigated by such fringe elements, Mahatma Gandhi statues have been desecrated in parts of the world. This is extremely disturbing for India and for civilised society everywhere.

Indian police forces have handled these protests with utmost restraint. It may be noted that hundreds of men and women serving in the police have been physically attacked, and in some cases stabbed and seriously wounded.

We would like to emphasise that these protests must be seen in the context of India’s democratic ethos and polity, and the efforts of the Government and the concerned farmer groups to resolve the impasse.

Before rushing to comment on such matters, we would urge that the facts be ascertained, and a proper understanding of the issues at hand be undertaken. The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible. ”

meanwhile American influencer Amanda Cerny, who hosts a podcast with actor Jacqueline Fernandez, has joined in the chorus of international support for protesting Indian farmers. This comes after tweets from singer RIHANA and activist Greta Thunberg on Tuesday.

Amanda took to Instagram to share a black-and-white image of elderly ladies at the protest site, and wrote in her caption that the situation transcends culture. Her post got love from Ammy Virk, Gippy Grewal, Himanshi Khurana, among other, but also attracted its fair share of trolling.

Hunger Strike Against New Farm Laws

As part of their protest against the three farm laws heads of all farmer unions started hunger strike from 8 am to 5 pm today. they also announced to intensify agitation in coming days .

Governmet agencies have been stopping farmers from reaching Delhi, our protests will continue till our demands are met. Our stand is clear, we want the three farm laws to be repealed. All farmer unions participating in this movement are together,” said Shiv Kumar Kakka, farmer leader.

meanwhile Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to people to fast wherever they are in support of protesting farmers, and asserted that farmers will win in the end.
Kejriwal is holding a one-day fast in support of the farmers’ protest .

Farmer leaders are observing a day-long hunger strike as part of their protest against the three new farm laws.

The chief minister also urged his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers, supporters, as well as the people of the country to join the farmers’ agitation.

“Fasting is sacred. Wherever you are, fast for our farmer brothers. Pray to God for the success of their struggle. In the end, farmers will definitely win,” Kejriwal tweeted.

Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said he is observing the fast at the party office with other party members.

“The Anndaata farmer of the country is on hunger strike demanding the withdrawal of the three laws of the central government for the sake of saving his daily bread. In support of the demand of farmers, today I am also on a fast with all my colleagues in the Aam Aadmi Party office,” Sisodia tweeted.

Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Som Parkash met Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday amidst farmers’ protests against the Centre’s three agriculture laws, news agency PTI reported. The ministers were accompanied by BJP leaders from Punjab. Tomar and Parkash, along with their ministerial colleague Piyush Goyal, had led the government’s negotiations with the protesting farmers.

Leaders of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan), who had organised an event to demand the release of jailed activists last week, have decided to distance themselves from the one-day hunger strike call given by 32 farmer unions from Punjab on Monday. Sukhdev Singh, Punjab general secretary of BKU Ekta Ugrahan, said that Ugrahan leaders will not observe fast. “We will not participate (in one-day hunger strike),” Farmer unions, most of them from Punjab, have started their hunger strike against the Centre’s new farm laws. Also, they have given a call to stage dharnas at district headquarters across the country.
