Bengaluru, 29 September 2025: Ambuja Cements, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, as part of its CSR is fostering young sporting talent through its after-school sports programme at Darlaghat, Himachal Pradesh. With 40 students enrolled and grouped into U-14, U-19 and youth teams, the programme provides structured training, exposure to competitions and pathways for holistic development. A dedicated coach has been guiding the youth over the past two years, and the Yuva Club at Darlaghat is now under registration, with 24 boys already signed up.

Ambuja Cements is extending technical guidance through ELMS Sports Foundation, while also providing lodging and boarding facilities to ensure players have the right environment to train. The programme actively promotes participation in tournaments at open, district and state levels, building confidence and competitive spirit. Recently, the Yuva Club team competed in the Sayar Fair Volleyball Tournament in Arki, where 10 teams from across Solan district participated. Advancing through multiple rounds, the team reached the semifinals and emerged as a runner-up, winning a cash prize and trophy.

The after-school sports programme has been rolled out across multiple locations with expert coaches training students in kabaddi in Chandrapur and Nalagarh, football in Ropar, and volleyball and kho kho in Bathinda and Darlaghat, alongside athletics across locations. Designed to nurture raw sporting talent, the initiative provides student-athletes with coaching, mentorship, nutrition and exposure to competitive platforms. Currently, 165 students from government schools are enrolled across sites, including 25 girls, highlighting the programme’s inclusive approach.

Through this initiative, Ambuja Cements continues to invest in the potential of young athletes, fostering discipline, teamwork and resilience while opening doors to future sporting opportunities.

Ambuja Cements support as part of its CSR has empowered local agriculture volunteers like Meena to drive a remarkable shift toward modern, diversified farming. Her work across Upper Pazina, Lower Pazina, and Neori villages has introduced sustainable practices and renewed interest in farming as a viable livelihood.

One of the most impactful initiatives took shape in FY 2024–25, when net fencing was introduced to protect crops from being damaged by wild animals. With guidance from Ambuja Cements and Meena’s on-ground leadership, the demonstration’s success inspired over 50 farmers to procure fencing via the local Farmer Producer Organiation (FPO), generating Rs. 23,000 in business and improving farm productivity. This effort not only protected crops but also bolstered the FPO’s operations and encouraged a collective farming approach.

In a vibrant celebration of athleticism and cultural talent, Ambuja Cements facilitated a three-day District-Level Women’s Sports and Cultural Meet at its ITI campus in Darlaghat, drawing participation from 240 female trainees representing 10 Government and Private ITIs.

With full support from Ambuja Cements, the event offered a dynamic platform for young women to engage in competitions ranging from Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, and Volleyball to folk songs, dances, and skits. The meet encouraged physical fitness, team spirit, and cultural pride—bringing together energy and expression in equal measure.

Students from Ambuja Cements-supported ITI in Darlaghat performed exceptionally well, securing top honors across multiple categories and earning the Overall Runner-Up Trophy. Three female students were selected for state level Kho Kho Tournaments.
