Choreographer Saroj Khan passes away

Ace Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, who was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra, Mumbai on June 20 passed away. Saroj Khan died of cardiac arrest early on Friday.

The legendary choreographer had severe diabetes and related illness. She had tested negative for coronavirus. She was 71. Saroj Khan is survived by her husband B. Sohanlal, son Hamid Khan and daughters Hina Khan and Sukyna Khan.

Saroj Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra in Mumbai on June 17 after complaining of breathing issues. Her daughter Sukyna Khan informed that her mother has tested negative for Covid-19 and, said that the breathlessness was caused due to cold. Furthermore, she added that Saroj Khan is likely to be discharged from the hospital in the next two to three days.

In a career spanning more than four decades, Saroj Khan choreographed more than 2000 songs.

Saroj Khan, who began working as a background dancer at the age of three, got her first break as an independent choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam in 1974. The three-time National Award winner has been credited with choreographing over 2000 songs, including iconic numbers such as Hawa Hawai from Mr India (1987), Ek Do Teen from Tezaab (1988), Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from Beta (1992) and Dola Re Dola from Devdas (2002).

She last choreographed Madhuri Dixit in the song Tabaah Ho Gaye from Karan Johar’s production Kalank in 2019.

Deepika Danced On Abu-Sandeep’s Ramp

NEW DELHI: Deepika Padukone joined designer duo Abu Jaani- Sandeep Khosla in celebrating 33 years of their couture at a blockbuster fashion exhibition in Mumbai on Thursday. Deepika sprinkled star-dust on the runway as she made a dreamy appearance as the show-stopper, dressed in pristine white from head-to-toe. Deepika’s caped lehenga reminded us of her Mumbai reception outfit from last year, designed by Abu-Sandeep, of course.

Deepika Padukone cast a spell on the guests in the audience, who couldn’t take their eyes off her, as she manoeuvred her way along the runway. But Deepika surely knows how to have fun – she returned to the ramp, together with the designers, and broke into an impromptu gig to the beats of Disco Deewane.

Guess who left their front row seats to join her steps? Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Jaya Bachchan, who were spotted grooving along with Deepika while Abhishek was the loudest cheerleader. Only Deepika Padukone can do this, don’t you think?

Nach Baliye 9 winner will star in a dance number in Dabangg 3

Dance TV reality show Nach Baliye 9 has kickstarted and the participant couples are winning hearts already. Season 9 is being produced by the one and only Salman Khan. The actor has decided to reward the winner in his own different manner. Apparently, the female contestant of the winning jodi will get to be a part of his upcoming cop drama Dabangg 3. Salman will give a chance to the lady winner of the show to star in a dance number in his film.

According to a source close to the development, Salman and his team are keeping a close watch on the show, as the winner will join him in the special song. “He has already discussed the plans with his team,” the source revealed. The makers have planned to shoot the major parts before September end. Khan is also launching his friend, Mahesh Manjrekar’s younger daughter, Saiee, in the film. She will be seen playing the love interest of Robinhood Pandey in his 20’s. In fact, the two have also shot for a romantic song together.

Talking about the film, Dabangg 3 is being directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Arbaaz Khan. Dabangg was directed by Anurag Kashyap and Dabangg 2 was helmed by Arbaaz Khan. Fans were eagerly waiting for Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha‘s team up for the third installment of the Dabangg franchise. The cop drama went on floors in April, this year
