Prabesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuaan ceremony at Deepika Ispat Siksha Sadan

Reinforcing its commitment towards community welfare and quality education, a Prabesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuaan ceremony was organized at Deepika Ispat Siksha Sadan (DISS), on 2^nd April 2026 to welcome the Sishu Vatika students for the new academic session. Notably the free school set up by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for the underprivileged children of the Steel City is being managed by Deepika Mahila Sanghati.

Mrs. Namrata Verma, President (DMS) presided over the function. Present on the occasion were Mrs. Pravati Misra, Mrs. Smita Giri, Dr. Pratijna Palai, Mrs. Rita Rani and Mrs. Nabanita Pal Chowdhury, the Vice Presidents of DMS, Mr. R S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mrs. Sarika Kumar, Secretary (DMS), other members of the governing body, CSR officials of RSP, along with the Principal, teachers and students of DISS were also present.

On this occasion, Mrs. Namrata Verma also inaugurated a newly developed playroom for the Sishu Vatika children, aimed at providing a joyful and engaging environment for early childhood learning.

NFL provides Water Coolers cum RO to Govt. Schools

Under its CSR initiative, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) has undertaken a project for installation of 56 Water Coolers with RO Purifiers across 32 MCD schools in Shahdara North Zone, Delhi, aimed at ensuring access to safe and clean drinking water for students, especially during the summer months, benefitting over 25,000 girl students.

As part of this initiative, inauguration ceremonies were held on 6th April 2026 at selected schools in Brahmpuri (Usmanpur Girls School), Bhajanpura, Ghonda (Gautam Vihar Girls School), and Yamuna Vihar (C4 Girls School).

The inauguration was graced by Shri Amit Kumar Sharma, IRS, CVO (NFL), along with Municipal Councillors and NFL Officials. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from girl students and school staff, reflecting the positive impact of the initiative at the grassroots level.

NTPC Dadri Empowers Rural Girls by Distributing Bicycles to 288 Students

NEW DELHI. NTPC Dadri distributed bicycles to 288 Class VIII girl students from 24 schools located in the surrounding villages, with the objective of reducing barriers to education and encouraging continued academic participation among rural girls. The initiative aims to facilitate safe and convenient access to schools, particularly for students residing in remote areas.

The bicycle distribution programme was marked by a bicycle rally, which was flagged off in the presence of the Head of Project, senior NTPC officials, members of Jagriti Samaj, village heads, school principals, teachers and parents. The occasion reflected strong community participation and support for girls’ education.

Stakeholders present on the occasion appreciated NTPC Dadri’s sustained commitment towards community development and women empowerment through its various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, which continue to create positive social impact in the region.
