The pilots, one of them a decorated former fighter pilot, had aborted two landings due to tailwind and had circled the airport several times before the final landing. The area had been slammed by torrential rains since Thursday.

“According to weather radar, the approach was for runway 28 but as the pilots faced difficulties, they went around twice and came from the opposite side on runway 10 and the plane crash-landed,”  an investigator of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as saying.

The officer said the aircraft was at full speed while landing and continued to the edge of the runway and fell over in the valley.

The Air India Express flight IX-1344 from Dubai to Calicut was operating under the Vande Bharat Mission to repatriate Indians stranded abroad because of coronavirus lockdowns. The Air India Express, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India, has only B-737 aircraft in its fleet.

There were 184 passengers on the plane, including 10 babies and 4 cabin crew members. Many passengers were workers returning home after losing their jobs due to the pandemic.

A worse tragedy was averted because the plane did not catch fire after the crash. In the heavy downpour, rescue personnel, including local policemen, pulled out people from the debris and jagged pieces of the plane’s fuselage scattered on a slope. Little children, wailing in fear, were found trapped under seats.

Investigating officers from the DGCA, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, the CEO of Air India express and other officials of Air India and Air India Express were flown to Kozhikode early today to inquire into what happened. An aircraft from Mumbai also took “Angels of Air India” — grief counsellors — and other employees to coordinate relief and assistance.

असल में सचिन अपनी ताकत को ओवरऐस्टीमेट कर गये और गणित को भूल गये . आखिर कांग्रेस ने सचिन को अधयक्ष पद और उपमुख्यमंत्री पद से हटा दिया . बाकी दो और मंत्री भी हटाये गये . संदेश साफ है कि कांग्रेस इसे सहन नहीं करेगी . कांग्रेस को ये संदेश देना जरुरी था वरना कई और जगह भी ये प्रथा चल निकलती .

राजस्थान में अशोक गहलोत सरकार के पास कांग्रेस के 107 और 13 निर्दलीय विधायकों का समर्थन है . इस तरह उनके पास कुल मिलाकर 120 विधायकों का समर्थन है .अगर सचिन अपने दावे के अनुसार 20 विधायकों को कांग्रेस से तोड भी लेते हैं तब भी सरकार नहीं गिरेगी.. तब कांग्रेस के पास 87 विधायक रहेंगे . सारे निर्दलीय किसी भी हालत मे बीजेपी के पास नहीं जायेंगे क्योंकि 7 तो अशोक गहलोत की मदद से ही जीतें हैं.

भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (मा.) 2.
भारतीय ट्राइबल पार्टी, 2.
राष्ट्रीय लोक दल, 1. और
राष्ट्रीय लोकतांत्रिक पार्टी, 3 .. के तीन विधायक है.

इस तरह बीजेपी का गणित किसी भी तरह नहीं बैठ रहा है. अब कांग्रेस चाहे तो दलबदल के आरोप मे सचिन के साथ कथित तौर पर गये सारे 20 विधायकों को अयोग्य भी घोषित करार दे सकती है .ऐसे मे सदन का बहुमत का आंकडा घट जायेगा और गहलोत सरकार बची रहेगी..

असल में राजस्थान की राजनीती को जानने वाले कहते है कि सचिन गूजर है और उनका राजस्थान मे वोट बैंक बहुत कम है इसलिए सचिन को कोई सीएम नही बनने देना चाहता जब तक कि दिल्ली से कांग्रेस हाईकमान साथ ना दे. ऊपर से बीजेपी नेता वसुंधरा राजे कभी नहीं चाहेंगी कि सचिन बीजेपी मे आयें क्योकिं तब वो वसुंधरा के बेटे दुष्यंत के लिए ही खतरा बन जायेंगे. ऐसे मे सचिन की राह सिंधिंया की तरह नहीं है ना ही राजस्थान का गणित मध्यप्रदेश की तरह है .

qqलेकिन दांव नही चला. पर गहलोत कांग्रेस आलाकमान को ये समझाने मे कामयाब हो गये कि सचिन कभी भी बगावत कर सकता है इसलिए ऊपर से कुछ भी दिख रहा हो लेकिन इतना तय है कि सचिन को एक हद से ज्यादा नहीं मनाया जायेगा. गहलोत पहले ही सोनिया और राहुल दोनों कैंप के करीबी है इसलिए राहुल खुलकर सचिन के समर्थन मे नही आ सकते .

असल में जब 2018 में चुनाव के बाद भी सचिन ने सीएम पद का दावा किया था तब राहुल गांधी और सोनिया गांधी के सामने ही कांग्रेस का एक अंदरूनी सर्वे रख दिया गया था जिसमें सचिन के साथ केवल 9 प्रतिशत कांग्रेसी विधायक थे जबकि गहलोत के साथ 46 फीसदी .. इस तरह तभी साफ हो गया था कि सचिन को फिलहाल जूनियर ही रहना होगा .
जानकार ये भी कहते है कि सचिन अब रुकना नहीं चाहते क्योकि उनको राहुल गांधी से कोई उम्मीद नही है .उनको लगता है कि राहुल गांधी खुद ही कमजोर है ऐसे मे उनका कांग्रेस में कोई भविषय नही है. यही जल्दबाजी और निराशा दोनो सचिन के लिए मुश्किल बन गयी है.

At around 9:30 am, BSE Sensex was down by 1,785.28 or over 6 per cent at 27,084.23 while Nifty was down almost 600 points or 6.90 per cent at 7,884.65, which is the lowest since December 27, 2016. By 10 am, Sensex was down by almost 1,900 points at 26,977.

All shares on the Sensex pact apart from NTPC and Powergrid were trading in red due to heavy selloff in the stock market. As far as Nifty is concerned, all sectoral indexes are trading in the red.

The fresh fall on Thursday is another alarming day on Dalal Street, reflecting the wider sentiments of global markets, which have suffered deep wounds while tackling the novel coronavirus outbreak.

While governments around the world have tried to boost sentiments, it has hardly helped in boosting investor sentiments as there is too much panic around how much damage the virus can cause and whether it triggers a global recession.

Meanwhile, the spread of coronavirus seems to be intensified in several countries outside China. Italy on Wednesday reported 475 deaths while cases in the US rose by over 1,000. In India, the pandemic has claimed three lives while 170 have been infected.

At present, market analysts are uncertain when the market would bottom out and have told investors to stay calm and avoid panicking as it could lead to further losses.

Some analysts now say that the next 15 days would be crucial for stock markets around the world including India.

The plane had taken off from Iran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, the report said. The crash is suspected to have been caused by mechanical issues, it added.

An investigation team was at the site of the crash in southwestern outskirts of Tehran, civil aviation spokesman Reza Jafarzadeh said.

The crash came hours after iran attack on US forces in retaliation for the killing of Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani.

“The fierce revenge by the Revolutionary Guards has begun,” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement on a Telegram channel.

Hossein Soleimani, the editor-in-chief of Mashregh, the main Revolutionary Guards news website, said that short-range ballistic missiles had been fired at the US base at Asad, in Anbar.

We are aware of the media reports out of Iran and we are gathering more information,” Boeing spokesman Gordon Johndroe said in an email.

Ukraine International representatives weren’t immediately reachable. The Ukrainian consulate in Tehran declined to comment.

Website planefinder.net, which tracks flights worldwide, listed the two-engine aircraft as three years old, saying it was delivered in July 2016.

Boeing is already mired in crisis following crashes in October 2018 and last March. Those disasters, which killed nearly 350 people, involved the U.S. manufacturer’s 737 Max jet, which has been grounded globally for 10 months. The 737-800 and 737 Max are both variants of Boeing’s 737 narrow-body planes but the 737-800 hasn’t been grounded.

Boeing is still developing a fix for the flaws discovered in a flight-control system new to the 737 Max model. The 737-800 that is reported to have crashed near Tehran on Wednesday didn’t have that system.

“There are 14 dead at the (crash) site,” Almaty city government said in a statement via its official channel on the Telegram messenger app.

It added that a further 17 patients were being treated in hospital in a “serious condition”.

The Fokker 100 aircraft was heading for the capital, Nur-Sultan, and “lost altitude during takeoff and broke through a concrete fence” before hitting a two-storey building, Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee said in a statement.

According to the Emergencies Committee, at least nine people were killed. The government and Almaty airport said emergency services were working at the site to get survivors out.

A Reuters reporter travelling to the airport said there was thick fog in the area.

Photographs from the crash site published by media showed the damaged plane with large cracks in its body next to a house half-demolished by the impact.
