NEW DELHI. In a significant step towards strengthening leadership in India’s Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), under the Government of India, has launched the second edition of DAKSH, a leadership development program tailored for senior CPSE executives. Anchored within the framework of Mission Karmayogi, this initiative is aimed at grooming high-potential leaders—General Managers, Chief General Managers, and Executive Directors—who are on the cusp of assuming board-level roles.

Shri Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman of the Capacity Building Commission, emphasized the importance of forward-looking leadership in the country’s growth journey. “India’s transformation needs bold, future-ready leadership, and that includes our public sector. DAKSH is a step towards equipping our CPSE leaders with the mindset and skills required to steer through today’s complex challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities,” he said.

The program is crafted to enhance strategic vision, behavioral insight, and functional excellence—essential capabilities for navigating the evolving economic and technological landscape. With a focus on building leadership that is agile, accountable, and aligned with national priorities, DAKSH seeks to reposition CPSEs as drivers of innovation and economic resilience.

To operationalize this vision, the CBC has signed a MoU with the SCOPE. Egon Zehnder joins as the Knowledge Partner, bringing global leadership insights, while the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore will serve as the Academic Partner, delivering world-class learning experiences.

As CPSEs continue to play a pivotal role in national development—spanning sectors such as energy, transport, steel, and infrastructure—programs like DAKSH are essential to ensure that the public sector keeps pace with global standards of leadership and governance. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to cultivating a cadre of visionary leaders ready to take India’s public enterprises into a dynamic and competitive future.
