A commemorative coin recognising CPCL’s sixty years of refining operations was released at the India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 event in Goa by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in the presence of Shri Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Shri A. S. Sahney, Chairman, IndianOil and CPCL. Shri H. Shankar, Managing Director, CPCL, and Shri S. G. Venkatesh, Director (Technical), CPCL, were also present on the occasion.

PESB recommends Shri H Shankar Recommended for CPCL Managing Director

Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Board on recommended the name of Hari Shankar for the post of Managing Director, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited.

Several senior executives were interviewed during the selection process:

Mewa Lal Dahriya – Executive Director and Refinery Head, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Subhajit Sarkar – Executive Director (Operations), Refineries, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Kausik Basu – Executive Director and Refinery Head, Paradip Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Mukesh Mohan – Executive Director (Health, Safety & Environment), Refineries HQ, New Delhi, Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
H. Shankar – Director (Technical) with Additional Charge of Managing Director, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited.
Rohit Kumar Agrawala – Director (Finance), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited.
Dharmendra Kumar Sharma – Executive Director, Corporate Strategy & Planning and Business Development, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
