Currently, he serves as the Director (Refineries) in the company.

A Chemical Engineering graduate from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli and Postgraduate in Finance Management from Mumbai University, he has over 3 decades of experience in refinery operations and technical services.

He anchored several prestigious projects for setting up new process units in refineries in Mumbai, Kochi and Numaligarh.

Prior to becoming Director (Refineries), he headed Kochi and Mumbai Refineries of BPCLMr. Khanna is also the Chairperson of the ‘Technical Committee for Petroleum Refineries’ under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).

PESB did not find suitable candidates for CMD, BPCL

PESB has recommended the name of Shri Hari Kumar R for the post of Director (Research & Development), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). Currently, he is working as General Manager GM Technology Planning, BEL.

Name of Shri Ajit Kumar Mishra was recommended for the post of Director (Works), IRCON International Limited. Currently, he is working as Executive Director (Contract Management) in Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation Of India Limited

Shri Sachidananda Maharana was selected for the post of Director (Finance), Numaligarh Refinery Limited. Currently, he is Chief General Manager Chief General Manager (F&A), Oil India Limited.

PESB did not find any of the twelve shortlisted candidates suitable for the post of CMD, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). It further advised the Administrative Ministry (MoP&NG) to choose an appropriate course of further action for selection including the Search cum Selection Committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority. It may be underlined that the incumbent CMD Krishnakumar Gopalan is scheduled to retire on April 30, 2025.
