Revanth Reddy welcomed a proposal by NTPC to invest Rs 80,000 crore in wind and solar energy projects in Telangana, reaffirming the state’s commitment to becoming a leader in green energy production. He assured full support for NTPC’s initiatives, including facilitating clearances and infrastructure support on priority. During his meeting with NTPC chairman and managing director Gurdeep Singh, both sides agreed to form a joint working group to expedite project planning and implementation. The NTPC delegation highlighted Telangana’s potential to generate around 6,700 MW of power through floating solar projects alone, emphasizing the crucial role such initiatives could play in meeting the state’s growing energy demands and supporting India’s national renewable energy targets.

The discussions also underscored Telangana’s strategic advantages for renewable energy investments, such as abundant sunlight, favourable wind conditions, and reservoirs suitable for floating solar installations. Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office and senior NTPC executives participated in the meeting. The proposed projects are expected to boost Telangana’s renewable energy capacity, create thousands of jobs, and contribute significantly to the state’s long-term sustainable development goals, according to official sources.
