This high-profile venture signals a major diversification for NLC India as it aggressively expands its footprint into the clean and renewable energy sectors. By combining NLC India’s power generation expertise with Indian Oil’s extensive industrial reach, the partnership aims to rapidly scale up green infrastructure in the region. The details of the agreement were formally shared in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, highlighting both companies’ commitment to accelerating India’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

उन्होंने कहा कि एनटीपीसी परमाणु ऊर्जा निगम लिमिटेड (एनपीयूएनएल) के माध्यम से देशभर में संभावित स्थलों की पहचान की जा रही है। चयन प्रक्रिया में जल उपलब्धता, भूमि की उपयुक्तता तथा अन्य तकनीकी एवं पर्यावरणीय पहलुओं का आकलन किया जा रहा है। कुछ स्थानों पर जल उपलब्धता की पुष्टि हो चुकी है और कंपनी व्यवहार्यता से जुड़े विभिन्न पहलुओं पर जमीनी स्तर पर काम कर रही है।

राजस्थान में प्रस्तावित माही बांसवाड़ा परमाणु ऊर्जा परियोजना की प्रगति पर जानकारी देते हुए श्रीनिवासन ने बताया कि 700-700 मेगावाट की चार इकाइयों वाली 2.8 गीगावाट क्षमता की इस परियोजना के पहले दो यूनिटों के लिए परमाणु ऊर्जा नियामक बोर्ड (एईआरबी) से खुदाई की अनुमति मिल चुकी है। परियोजना की खुदाई का ठेका सितंबर 2025 में दिया जा चुका है, जबकि पर्यावरणीय एवं अन्य आवश्यक मंजूरियां भी प्राप्त हो चुकी हैं। परियोजना की पहली कंक्रीट ढलाई अगस्त 2027 तक शुरू होने की उम्मीद है तथा पहली इकाई को नवंबर 2032 तक ग्रिड से जोड़ने की योजना है।

The partnership will enhance renewable energy commercialization and market access, with both companies exploring opportunities to sell green power generated by NGEL. The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials, including NGEL CEO Sarit Maheshwari and PTC India CMD Dr. Manoj Kumar Jhawar.

Looking toward a sustainable future, the Prime Minister’s endorsed vision emphasizes a strong push for clean energy, including the National Green Hydrogen Mission and an ambitious goal of 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047. Through digital reforms like smart metering and expanded renewable capacity, the government aims to maintain a reliable power supply for emerging needs like data centers. To further this dialogue, stakeholders are invited to the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 in New Delhi to collaborate on grid modernization and next-generation infrastructure.
