Hosted across two sessions, the three-hour event brought India’s youngest book lovers together for a marathon of stories, sharing, and smiles. Homes turned into reading zones, screens became story circles, and children discovered that quiet time could be the loudest kind of fun.

The virtual event featured four inspiring Chief Guests—author Mallika Ravikumar, author Vardhini Amin, author Gulshan Randhawa Advani, storyteller Dr. Rinky Ahuja from Jammu, and seasoned educator Srilakshmi R, who brought her 14 years of classroom experience to spark imagination. Through readings, games, and reflections, they showed that stories don’t just entertain, they empower.

In between 20-minute silent reading sprints and interactive activities, families took the Million Readers Movement pledge, committing to one weekly reading action that keeps the curiosity alive. Across Zoom grids, you could see it: hundreds of pages turning, little heads bowed in concentration, and eyes lighting up in discovery.

“When I was a child, books were my window to the world. They sparked my imagination, taught me empathy, and gave me dreams that still drive me today. That’s the spirit behind Readathon, to give today’s children what stories once gave me: the joy of discovering worlds beyond their own. We wanted to show that reading doesn’t have to be solitary, it can be an experience we share, celebrate, and pass on together.”

As the screens faded and the last pages closed, the energy of Readathon stayed back. The event may have wrapped, but its purpose lives on through every shared moment around a book. For neOwn, this wasn’t only a Children’s Day event. It was a gentle reminder that reading habit grows when families take a moment together, open a book, and let stories find their place in everyday life.

Bangalore, 18th November 2025: Malabar Group, one of the world’s leading jewellery retailers, organised Children’s Day activities at its 1531 Micro Learning Centres (MLCs) across India. The celebrations were held for sixty thousand children supported by the centres and were led across the network of MLCs by senior representatives and community dignitaries. The programmes began with the distribution of sweets and set the tone for a day dedicated to learning, inclusion, and care.

The MLCs support underprivileged children who were forced into labour or had to drop out of school due to social and economic challenges. Each centre provides one year of age-appropriate primary education and helps children transition back to formal schooling.

Parents, local leaders, police and health department officials, and Malabar Group teams took part in the celebrations at the centres. Children engaged in learning activities and interactive sessions designed to encourage participation and confidence building.

The centres also provide nutrition support, offering milk, fruits, and eggs as part of the daily routine to help children learn with better concentration. Trained graduates from local communities serve as teachers, following a ratio of one teacher to forty children. So far, about thirty thousand children have been brought back to formal education through these centres.

Speaking on the occasion, Malabar Group Chairman M. P. Ahammed said that the initiative connects two essential needs for children: nourishment and learning. “A child learns better when they feel secure and cared for. Nutrition strengthens their ability to study, education gives them direction, and together they help shape a future where each child can support themselves with dignity. Our Micro Learning Centres reflect this belief and form an important part of our wider CSR commitments,” he said. The centres operate under the Group’s Hunger Free World initiative, which distributes one lakh five thousand food packets daily in India and also supports communities in Zambia and Ethiopia.

The Group has invested more than three hundred and fifty-six crore rupees in social welfare programmes. These efforts have positively impacted over seventeen lakh beneficiaries. Key focus areas include women’s empowerment, healthcare support, educational scholarships for girls, and the Grandma Home initiative, which provides shelter and care for elderly women.

● Under Project Shiksha, Zeta continues to bridge the digital divide by bringing digital learning to government schools

● The program is designed to equip over 300 upper primary students within a year with access to digital learning tools and structured computer education

● As part of its ongoing commitment, Zeta plans to establish one computer lab each year, expanding digital learning access to more government schools and enabling students to become active participants in India’s growing digital economy

Bangalore, November 14, 2025: Zeta, a next-generation banking technology provider, today inaugurated its second computer lab at Cheemasandra Government School on Children’s Day, furthering its commitment to advancing digital inclusion and technology enabled education. The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Project Shiksha, an NGO dedicated to bridging educational gaps, aims to strengthen digital learning infrastructure and enhance access to digital education in government schools.

The program is designed to equip over 300 upper primary students within a year with access to digital learning tools and structured computer education, helping them build essential digital skills early in life. The lab features computer systems, high-speed internet connectivity, and upgraded classroom infrastructure. Its curriculum covers coding fundamentals, digital literacy (including internet safety and e-waste management), STEM based projects, and AI and cybersecurity awareness, helping students gain exposure to technology and apply these skills in their everyday learning.

This expansion builds on the success of Zeta’s first Project Shiksha lab, launched on 5th September, 2024 at Chinnagenahalli Government Primary School, which introduced 300 students to formal computer education for the first time. Students from that school went on to develop creative projects such as remote-controlled cars, participate in workshops, and demonstrate significant improvement in digital literacy and confidence.

Through this initiative, Zeta goes beyond providing infrastructure. The company funds dedicated teaching staff, trains local educators, and integrates digital learning into school curriculums, ensuring sustainable and measurable long-term impact. In addition, Zeta employees are encouraged to volunteer their time to conduct workshops and interactive learning sessions, enabling students to learn directly from professionals working in technology and innovation.

“Digital inclusion is a key enabler of progress, and initiatives like Project Shiksha allow us to extend the benefits of technology beyond business,” said Shubhayu Sengupta, Chief People Officer at Zeta. “By investing in digital learning infrastructure at the grassroots level, we aim to create long-term impact and enable students to develop the skills needed for a digital future.”

“At Project Shiksha, every digital lab we build is a step toward equality in learning. Our continued partnership with Zeta is helping us open digital doors for children who deserve the same opportunities as any global learner. Through this initiative, we aim to build the digital literacy narrative for the last mile, ensuring that technology becomes a bridge, not a barrier, to education,” said Neha Chawla, Founder & Director, Project Shiksha.

As part of its ongoing commitment, Zeta plans to establish one computer lab each year, expanding digital learning access to more government schools and enabling students to become active participants in India’s growing digital economy.

Bengaluru, November 15, 2024: EuroKids, the leading name in preschool education in India, marked Children’s Day with an inspiring celebration at 1400+ centres across the country. With the participation of hundreds of toddlers, the event was a joyful testament to EuroKids’ commitment to nurturing young minds through play-based learning. Children’s Day, celebrated annually on November 14th, honors the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who championed children’s welfare and education.

The Children’s Day celebrations at EuroKids centres showcased the brand’s dedication to fostering a dynamic learning environment that blends the joy of play with purposeful education. By incorporating elements from its newly launched Heureka curriculum—known for promoting visible thinking through structured routines that ignite curiosity and encourage imagination—EuroKids aims to make learning both enjoyable and impactful. Heureka marks a significant transition from teaching children “what” to think to equip them with the skills to understand “how” to think. This celebration emphasized the brand’s commitment to holistic learning by combining joyful experiences with meaningful developmental milestones.

On Children’s Day, EuroKids organized a variety of engaging activities designed to create joyful learning experiences.
National, 14th November 2024: This Children’s Day, Nickelodeon, India’s leading entertainment destination for kids—takes its ongoing #HappyKidding campaign to new heights, celebrating the vibrant imaginations of kids across India. With the support of partners like Huggies, Kellogg’s and leading schools, Nickelodeon encourages children to step into a world where dreams, joy, and wonder are limitless.

The #HappyKidding campaign has always celebrated the power of imagination, curiosity and this year’s activities bring a fresh wave of inspiration to schools across the country. Nickelodeon engaged kids in a ‘Story-Telling Session,’ where one kid would start a story, and the next would add their twist to make it a dreamy and fascinating story. This interactive journey of storytelling created moments of joy, surprise, and collaboration, as kids brought their own ideas and personalities to an ever-evolving tale.

Adding to the celebration, Nickelodeon’s ‘Imagination Wall’ invited kids to draw or paint their most creative thoughts.
