Project Shilpi is designed for unemployed youth from economically weaker sections, particularly ITI (Industrial Training Institute) and diploma holders aged 18 and above, who are unable to pursue long-duration training due to financial or logistical constraints. Focused on youth from across the country, the initiative aims to create a steady pipeline of trained technicians. The project not only strengthens the industry’s service ecosystem but also contributes to the Government’s Skill India Mission and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—specifically SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

Speaking about the launch, Ms. Kavita Sah, India CSR Head, CNH, said, “At CASE, we believe in enabling communities through skills that transform lives. Project Shilpi addresses a critical gap in the construction equipment industry by preparing youth with job-ready skills in backhoe loader servicing. Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen India’s technical workforce while empowering individuals to achieve socio-economic independence.”

The project follows a three-month blended training model, beginning with a focused boot camp, followed by 26 hours of online theoretical learning and 520 hours of practical, hands-on training. Regular industry interface ensures participants gain real-world exposure, while outreach efforts through rural campaigns and community engagement help mobilize candidates from relevant backgrounds.

Upon completion, participants receive a third-party external assessment certification and gain essential skills in operating, maintaining, and servicing backhoe loaders. Furthermore, trainees are expected to gain a strong understanding of safety, environmental compliance, and customer communication.

Banjara Hills police registered a case against BI Marketing and Services Pvt. Ltd. and its directors Samuel Sangeeth, Abhishek Moses and James Raymond Moses on charges of cheating Daiki Axis India Pvt. Ltd. by supplying under capacity Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and collecting excess amount.

One of the customers of Daiki placed an order with BI Marketing for 5KLD STP. “BI Marketing deceived this customer by supplying under-capacity STP after changing the nameplate of Sewage Treatment Plant from 3,000 litres per day (3KLD) to 5,000 litres per day (5KLD) and collected the price of 5 KLD STP from instead of 3 KLD STP,” police said, quoting the complaint copy lodged by Kailash Chandra Pandey of Daiki.

Due to the supply of an under-capacity plant, the customer faced overflow after installation of STP and negative observations from local pollution control board officials and requested Daiki to upgrade/ rectify/ replace the plant.

With the administration of more than 30.81 lakh Doses (30,81,336) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 175.37 Cr (1,75,37,22,697) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

This has been achieved through 1,98,72,555 sessions. The break-up of the cumulative figure as per the provisional report till 7 am today include:

48,847 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,20,86,383.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.28%.

19,968 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 2,24,187. Active cases constitute 0.52% of the country’s total Positive Cases.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,87,766 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 75.93 Cr (75,93,15,246) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 2.27% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.68%.

India recorded 32,981 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active coronavirus cases in the country to 3,96,729, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.

With 39,109 new recoveries, the number of overall recovered COVID-19 patients stand at 91,39,901, pushing the recovery rate to 94.45 per cent today.

The overall COVID-19 cases reached 96,77,203, including 3,96,729 active cases and 91,39,901 recoveries. With 391 new deaths, the cumulative toll mounted to 1,40,573.

Meanwhile pune based serum institute has sought government approval for emergency use authorisation of the coronavirus vaccine that it is developing with the University of Oxford and British AstraZeneca, sources have said.

India’s total Active Caseload has significantly fallen to 4.03 lakh (4,03,248) today. This is the lowest after 138 days. The total active cases were 4,02,529 on 21^st  July, 2020.

Continuing with the trend of the last nine days, India has reported more daily recoveries than the daily new cases during the past 24 hours. The trend of more daily recoveries than the daily cases has led to a continuous contraction of India’s Active Caseload which presently consists of just 4.18% of the Total Positive Cases.

New cases per million population in India in the last seven days are 186. It is one of the lowest in the world.

The difference in New Recoveries outnumbering New Cases has also improved the Recovery Rate to 94.37% today.

The total recovered cases have crossed 91 lakh (91,00,792). The gap between Recovered Cases and Active Cases, that is steadily increasing is nearing 87 lakh (86,97,544) today.

76.6% of the new recovered cases are observed to be concentrated in 10 States/UTs.

Maharashtra has reported the maximum number of single day recoveries with 5,834 newly recovered cases. Kerala follows closely with 5,820 new recoveries. Delhi registered 4,916 new recoveries.

After spending so many days in Bhaykhala jail actor Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail  over drugs-related charges in the Sushant Singh Rajput case from Bombay high court .

A special court  had yesterday extended their judicial custody till October 20 but HC granted bail to RHEA although court  rejected her brother shauvik bail application .

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 8 by the Narcotics Control Bureau on charges of organizing drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput, a popular movie star who was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. She was accused of being “an active member of a drugs syndicate” and financing drugs bought for Sushant Singh Rajput, her boyfriend.

In her bail petition, Rhea Chakraborty alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput “took advantage of those closest to him to sustain his drug habit” and that she and her brother are sole targets of a witch-hunt.

She said he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and his family abandoned him at the peak of his depression. His mental health “deteriorated during the lockdown”, she claimed, adding that the deaths of actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor also had a tremendous impact on him.

Sushant Singh was “extremely happy after being offered ₹ 14 crore for a movie”, she said, alleging that the actor was disturbed over a rift with his family, especially his father.

Rhea Chakraborty also argued that the charges against her are too severe compared to the quantity of the drugs involved. She accused the drugs probe agency of spinning a false narrative that she was involved in illegal drugs trafficking and “harboured offenders”.

The CBI is investigating the circumstances of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the Enforcement Directorate is looking into financial allegations raised by the actor’s father.

The Narcotics Control Bureau stepped into the Sushant Singh Rajput investigations when WhatsApp chats retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s phone revealed alleged conversations involving the procuring of drugs.

Several top actors have been questioned by the anti-drugs bureau in a widening probe into drugs and the film industry.

On the other side The complaint has been filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha at a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur.

Sushant did suicide at his Mumbai home on Sunday. In his complaint, Ojha alleged that Sushant was removed from seven films and some of his films were not released.

“In the complaint, I have alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput was removed from around seven films and some of his films were not released. Such a situation was created which forced him to take the extreme step (sic),” the advocate told .

Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam tweeted that Sushant was recently removed from seven films signed by him.

He said, “He lost the films in just six months. Why? The film industry’s ruthlessness works on a very different level. And that ruthlessness took the life of one talented person.

Reacting to the complaint, Ekta Kapoor said she is extremely upset.

She wrote on Instagram, “Thank you for the case for not casting Sushi (Sushant)…. when actually I launched him. I’m beyond upset at how convoluted theories can be! Please let family n friends mourn in peace! Truth shall prevail. Cannot believe this!”

Notably, Ekta produced Sushant’s popular TV serial Pavitra Rishta.

A jail official was quoted that Vinay Sharma had attempted to hurt himself by banging his head against a wall on Sunday and had suffered minor injuries.

Earlier this week, Vinay Sharma’s lawyer had told a Delhi court that he was on a “hunger strike” and his mental status was not good.

The court on Monday put out a third death warrant for Vinay Sharma, along with Akshay Thakur, Pawan Gupta and Mukesh Singh, the men convicted in 2012 gang-rape of a young medical student who was assaulted and tortured so brutally that she died days later.

Two previous dates of hanging – January 22 and February 1 – came and went as the convicts filed multiple petitions to stall the execution. On February 5, the Delhi High Court ordered that all four would have a week to exhaust all their legal remedies, including mercy petitions to the President, and said they cannot be hanged separately.

A special public prosecutor told the court that three of the convicts were done with their legal options and there is no petition pending in any court.

On the third date of hanging, Nirbhaya’s mother said: “I hope that this date is final. Anybody is given an opportunity for remedy only for a limited number of times. These four convicts have been given enough opportunities now. Our struggle will end on March 3 when these convicts will be hanged.”

Six men, including one just short of 18, were arrested after the December 16, 2012 gangrape. One of the main accused, Ram Singh, was found hanging in his jail cell. The teen was released after three years in a reform home.

The much-awaited execution day for the Nirbhaya gangrape convicts has been decided by a Delhi Court today. The four convicts – Pawan, Akshay, Vinay and Mukesh will be hanged on January 22, 2020, at 7 o’clock in the morning.

The verdict was made live on video conference to connect the court with the convicts who are lodged in Tihar Jail.

Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora of the Patiala House Court had reserved the order earlier in the day on the plea by Nirbhaya’s parents seeking issuance of the death warrants of the four convicts. Before pronouncing the date, the judge spent some time speaking to each of the convicts via video conferencing after asking media persons to step out.

The court was informed that a curative petition was in the process of being filed

The parents of Nirbhaya had urged the court to expedite the execution proceedings as delay only added to their prolonged agony since the fateful night of December 16, 2012.

On Monday, the court dismissed an application filed by the father of one of the death-row convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case, who had questioned the credibility of the sole witness by claiming that he was “tutored” and sought the registration of FIR against him.

Out of the six accused in the gangrape and murder charges, the main accused Ram Singh had allegedly committed suicide in Tihar Jail during the pendency of the trial while another accused was a minor at the time of the commission of the crime and was hence sent to a reform facility for juveniles and released after serving three years.

1,821 cases filed by homebuyers against builders under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

As per the information received from National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), total 1,821 cases filed by homebuyers against builders since June, 2018, under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) 2016, were pending in NCLT on 30.09.2019. Data regarding cases filed against builders for defaults of less than a month is not available with NCLT, this was stated by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs, in a written reply to a question in Lok sabha  today.

Elaborating further, Shri Thakur said the matter of the status of homebuyers as financial creditors or modify the definition of default in these cases in order to reduce the number of insolvency cases filed against builders in the NCLTs for small defaults is under consideration of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The Government is taking all steps to strengthen the NCLT in terms of number of benches, number of courts and number of members, to reduce the burden of the NCLT.

Five new benches have been announced during 2018-2019 at Jaipur, Cuttack, Kochi, Indore and Amaravati. The Government has also appointed 28 more members in NCLT recently and vacant posts of members in NCLT are being filed up regularly. For capacity building of members, regular colloquiums are being held. e-Court project is also being implemented by NIC for all the benches of NCLT.

The victim’s parents have sought court’s direction to Tihar Jail authorities to speed up the execution of the rape convicts.

The court will hear the matter on November 25.

They moved the application since the earlier two judges hearing the matter got transferred and the matter is getting adjourned continuously, the plea said.

The special fast track court, set up to hear cases of sexual harassment cases exclusively, of Patiala House Court is now vacant and no judge has been appointed till now.

The application said that victim’s parents approached the court since the convicts have exhausted all legal remedies.

In December last year, the parents of Nirbhaya, the 23-old paramedic who was gang-raped in December 2012, approached the court to fast-track the procedure to hang all four convicts in the case.

Supreme Court on December 12, 2018, dismissed the PIL seeking a direction to the Centre to execute the death penalty awarded to four convicts — Mukesh, Pawan, Vinay and Akshay — in the sensational Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case.
