Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Kumedi in Indore district will integrate bus, metro and rail connectivity, serving over 50,000 passengers daily under BVG India’s long-term O&M concession

5th August 2026, Wednesday: Reflecting this transformation, BVG India Limited has been awarded the Lease-cum-Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Kumedi, Indore – one of Madhya Pradesh’s integrated bus terminals.

Spread across 5.85 hectares (14.46 acres), ISBT Kumedi has the capacity to handle over 1,500 buses and approximately 50,000–55,000 passengers and visitors every day, serving as a key gateway connecting Madhya Pradesh with Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi and neighbouring states.

Designed as an airport-grade multimodal transport hub, ISBT Kumedi seamlessly integrates bus, metro and railway connectivity. Its direct connection to the Metro Station through a dedicated Foot Over Bridge (FOB) is expected to offer convenient metro-to-bus integration, improving commuter convenience and promoting greater use of public transport.

Under the long-term concession, BVG India is required to undertake the end-to-end operation, maintenance and integrated management of the entire terminal ecosystem. Moving beyond conventional facility management, the company also has the obligation to oversee engineering infrastructure, passenger services, commercial facilities, utilities, parking, traffic management, safety, security and digital operations through a comprehensive Integrated Facility Management (IFM) model.

Passenger experience is intended to remain central to the operating philosophy. The terminal is designed to maintain standards of cleanliness through mechanised housekeeping systems, while preventive and predictive maintenance is expected to support reliable operation of critical infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC, water supply, elevators, sewage treatment and utility services.

Technology is expected to play a role in developing the terminal into a smart mobility destination. Integrated digital platforms covering asset management, preventive maintenance, automated parking, digital payments, CCTV surveillance, public information systems, complaint management and real-time operational dashboards are designed to support efficient, transparent and data-driven management while enhancing commuter convenience.

Sustainability initiatives are planned across terminal operations. Solar power generation, energy-efficient systems, sewage water recycling, scientific waste management, organic waste processing, water conservation and environmentally conscious landscaping are intended to contribute towards creating a cleaner, greener and more resource-efficient transport hub. These initiatives align with India’s broader sustainability agenda and reinforce the growing focus on environmentally responsible public infrastructure.

Beyond transportation, ISBT Kumedi has been envisioned as a public destination. With nearly 30,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial space, including shops, restaurants, food courts, offices and passenger amenities, the terminal is expected to serve not only as a transit hub but also as a commercial ecosystem, potentially creating new opportunities for businesses while enhancing commuter convenience.

Recognising the increasing importance of large-scale public mobility, BVG’s operational strategy has also been designed to support future high-footfall events such as Simhastha 2028, when Indore and the region are expected to witness a significant surge in passenger movement. We believe that scalable manpower deployment, integrated crowd management, enhanced cleaning protocols and close coordination with Metro and Railway authorities will enable the terminal to manage substantially higher passenger volumes during such occasions.

Commenting on the development, Rupal Sinha, Chief Executive Officer, BVG India Limited, said, “India is witnessing a fundamental transformation in public mobility. Bus terminals are no longer merely transit points; they are becoming integrated mobility ecosystems that shape how citizens experience their cities. At BVG, our vision extends beyond operating infrastructure. We aim to create intelligent, sustainable and passenger-centric public spaces that improve urban mobility while supporting India’s journey towards smarter and more connected cities. ISBT Kumedi represents that vision, and we are proud to partner in developing a model for multimodal transport infrastructure.”

With experience in managing large and complex public infrastructure across airports, healthcare institutions, industrial facilities, transportation networks and urban assets, BVG India will leverage its multidisciplinary expertise to establish ISBT Kumedi as a model for operational excellence, sustainability and passenger experience.

The project represents more than the management of a bus terminal. It reflects India’s broader transition towards integrated, technology-enabled and sustainable public transport systems, where infrastructure is measured not only by what is built, but by how efficiently it serves citizens every day. By combining engineering excellence, digital innovation and customer-centric operations, BVG India aims to develop a multimodal mobility hub – that contributes to the future of public transport infrastructure.

Bengaluru, October 03, 2025: Pune-headquartered BVG India Limited, the country’s largest integrated facility management (IFM) services provider, has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The issue comprises a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to ₹300 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 2.85 crore equity shares by existing shareholders. Out of the fresh issue proceeds, ₹250 crore has been earmarked for repayment or pre-payment of borrowings, while the balance will be deployed towards general corporate purposes.

The company operates through three business verticals—Integrated Facility Management (IFM), Emergency Response Services (ERS), and Environment & Sustainability Services (ESS)—catering to clients across industrial, commercial, healthcare, education, government and transport infrastructure sectors. Under IFM, BVG India provides soft services such as mechanised housekeeping, janitorial services, industrial housekeeping, manpower supply, security, office support and retail fuel outlet maintenance; hard services including electro-mechanical works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, repairs and maintenance, road management, city cleaning and infrastructure upkeep; and specialised services like catering, paint-shop cleaning, back-office support, logistics management, and fleet operation, including EV bus management. The company is also a trusted partner to the Indian Railways, managing station facility operations, rolling stock and track maintenance, and on-board housekeeping.

Through ERS, BVG India pioneered police emergency response in India and introduced ambulances equipped with advanced medical devices and staffed with doctors. Notably, BVG India introduced the practice of staffing ambulances with doctors, setting new benchmarks for emergency medical care and reinforcing its leadership in public service delivery. Under ESS, it delivers waste management, horticulture, landscaping, afforestation, lake rejuvenation, and smart city projects, while also producing solar modules and installation and maintenance for solar projects nationwide.

As of 31 March 2025, BVG India had a workforce of over 85,000 employees operating across 2,218 active sites nationwide, making it one of the largest employers in the facility management space. For FY25, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹3,301.8 crore, total income of ₹3,319.5 crore, and profit after tax of ₹207.2 crore, translating into a healthy Return on Equity (ROE) of 17.44%. Its robust financial performance and diversified business model highlight its ability to scale operations while maintaining profitability.

The IPO will be managed by ICICI Securities Limited, JM Financial Limited and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors Limited, with MUFG Intime India Private Limited acting as the registrar.

The global outsourced Facility Management (FM) market, valued at USD 1,030 billion in 2024, has grown at a CAGR of 4.2% from 2019 to 2024, recovering from the pandemic-led disruption and regaining pre-2020 spending levels by late 2021. With rising infrastructure investments, rapid industrialisation, the development of smart buildings and increasing adoption of digital solutions, the market is expected to grow strongly. Government initiatives in emerging economies to contract private operators for clean, green and smart infrastructure further open up opportunities. By 2029, the outsourced FM market is projected to reach USD 1,495.1 billion, growing at a CAGR of 7.7% between 2024 and 2029.

With its leadership position, diverse service portfolio, strong execution track record and commitment to sustainability, BVG India is strategically placed to benefit from these industry tailwinds and strengthen its position as a pioneer in integrated facility management and allied services in India.
