The Bollywood veteran DILIP KUMAR turned 98 on Friday and wishes poured in on social media from the members of the film fraternity. Some of the actors shared cherished memories with the actor in the form of throwback pictures while others wished Dilip Kumar on social media with heartfelt notes.

Shah Rukh Khan posted a picture of himself and the iconic actor and wrote: “To the one and only, who amazed and inspired the world by just being himself. Wishing the legendary Dilip Kumar a happy birthday. I cherish and remember every time we’ve met in vivid detail and you have always loved me like your own. Love you too much. Have a good one, Dilip Sahib.”

Veteran stars Dharmendra and Raj Babbar shared priceless throwback pictures of Dilip Kumar on their respective Instagram profiles. “Happy birthday, Dalip sahab. Love you my darling brother,” wrote Dharmendra, who has worked with Dilip Kumar in films like Guddi and Jwaar Bhata, while Raj Babbar wished the legendary actor like this: “Happy Birthday. Wishes to the living legend Dilip Kumar Saheb. Through his sterling performances he wrote Indian cinema’s grammar book on Acting from which so many like me benefitted. Feel blessed to have worked with him. May the almighty always grant him good health.” Raj Babbar shared screen space with Dilip Kumar in Mazdoor.

Mohammed Yusuf Khan (born 11 December 1922) known professionally as Dilip Kumar, is an Indian actor and philanthropist, best known for his work in Hindi cinema. Referred as The Tragedy King and The First Khan he has been credited for bringing the Method acting technique to Indian cinema. Kumar holds the record for most wins for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and was also the inaugural recipient of the award.

Kumar debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata (1944), produced by Bombay Talkies. In a career spanning over five decades, Kumar worked in over 65 films. Kumar is known for roles in films such as the romantic Andaz (1949), the heartwarming Babul (1950), the impassioned Deedar (1951), the swashbuckling Aan (1952), social drama Daag (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955), the comical Azaad (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Yahudi (1958), Madhumati (1958), Kohinoor (1960), the epic historical Mughal-e-Azam (1960), the social dacoit crime drama Gunga Jumna (1961) and the comedy Ram Aur Shyam (1967)

Congress interim president will not be celebrating her 74TH birthday in view of the ongoing farmers’ agitation and COVID-19 pandemic. Congress has asked all the state heads of the party to avoid any kind of celebration, including cake cutting, on Gandhi’s birthday. While it might be a quiet birthday for Gandhi, greetings and wishes poured in from all quarters.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also extended greetings to Gandhi. Taking to Twitter, Gadkari wished for her long life and good health. “Birthday greetings to the President of the Indian National Congress party Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji. Sonia Gandhi (born 9 December 1946) iBorn in a small village near , Italy, Gandhi was raised in a Christian family. After completing her primary education at local schools, she moved for language classes to , England, where she met RAJEEV and later married him in 1968. She then moved to India and started living with her mother-in-law, the then PM INDIRA GANDHI at the latter’s . Sonia Gandhi, however, kept away from the politics even during the years of her husband’s premiership.

Following her husband’s assassination, Gandhi was invited by Congress leaders to lead the party, but she declined. She agreed to join politics in 1997 after much pleading from the party; the following year, she was nominated for party chief . Under her leadership, the Congress went on to form the government in 2004 coalition. Gandhi has since been credited for being instrumental in formulating the 10yesrs of UPA GOVT .

Happy Birthday KATRINA says Salman

Salman Khan shared a still from the song Dil Diyan Gallan from his and Katrina’s 2017 film Tiger Zinda Hai to wish the actress on her 37th birthday. “Happy birthday Katrina,” Salman captioned the post. Meanwhile, Salman’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma also posted a greeting for the birthday girl and she wrote: “Happiest birthday Katrina. Love you very much. May all your dreams and all my dreams for you come true.”

Salman Khan introduced Katrina Kaif in Bollywood and they were said to be dating for a few years. The duo have co-starred in films such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and Partner among others. Salman Khan even made guest appearances in several films which featured Katrina. The duo were last seen together in the 2019 film Bharat.

Actor Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram to wish Katrina Kaif on her 37th birthday on Thursday. The actors posted warm pictures with Katrina along with sweet messages.

On Jaya birthday, Abhishek miss Maa

Abhishek Bachchan and his sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda have wished their mother and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan on her birthday. Abhishek informed fans in his Instagram post that Jaya is in Delhi, away from the rest of the family which is in Mumbai.

He shared a picture of Jaya in the early hours of Thursday, which marks her 72nd birthday. Sharing it, he wrote that he missed her while she is in another city due to the lockdown. “As every child will tell you, their favourite word is… MA! Happy Birthday, Ma. Although you are away in Delhi due to the lockdown and we all are here in Mumbai, know that we are thinking of you and carry you in our hearts. I love you,” he wrote. Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan got married in the year 1973 after the release of Zanjeer, in which they co-starred. The couple welcomed their first child Shweta in 1974 and Abhishek in 1976. Shweta is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda and they are parents to daughter Navya Naveli and son Agastya. Abhishek Bachchan is married to actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Today, Arjun himself has shared yet another throwback memory with their mother on social media which happens to be from her last ever birthday celebration. The Panipat actor becomes nostalgic as he remembers her through the medium of this post wherein he pours out all his feelings and emotions.

Arjun and Anshula’s mother Mona who was the first wife of ace filmmaker Boney Kapoor, left for her heavenly abode on March 25, 2012 after succumbing to cancer. Months later, Arjun made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Ishaqzaade. Time and again, the Gunday actor has opened up about how close he was to his mother and that he misses her even now. On the professional front, Arjun received a lot of appreciation for his stellar performance in the period drama, Panipat.

PM Modi sends good wishes to Sonia Gandhi on turning 73

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended birthday greetings to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and wished her a healthy life.

Taking to Twitter, Modi said, “Birthday wishes to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi Ji. Praying for her long life and good health.”

Top Congress leaders also wished Gandhi who turned 73 today. The Congress interim chief, however, has decided not to celebrate her birthday in the wake of rape incidents across the country and growing concerns over women’s security, sources said.

“The longest serving Congress President, Sonia Gandhi’s exemplary strength of character has inspired generations of Congress leaders. Her strength, dignity, compassion and grace has united us and made us strong. We wish her a very happy birthday,” a tweet from the party’s official Twitter handle said.

Senior Congress leaders Kumari Selja, Manish Tewari, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Milind Deora, Mahila Congress chief Sushmita Dev, Youth Congress chief Srinivas B V, were among those who wished the party chief early in the morning.

BIG B’s BIRTHDAY TODAY

Amitabh Bachchan turns 77 today but the BIG B is in no mood to celebrate his birthday this year.

“What is there to celebrate? It’s a day like any other. I’m grateful that I am still working, that my body is able to keep pace with my spirit,” he says, humbly urging his wellwishers to pray for his good health.

Amitabh Bachchan Wants No Fanfare on His Birthday . Big B recalls his childhood birthdays when his father, the late poet Harivanshrai Bachchan, would always compose and recite a poem for him.

“It was a family tradition,” the veteran actor recalls, adding: “But this tradition took an entirely new definition when, after my near-fatal accident in 1984 (when he nearly lost his life after a shooting accident on the set of ‘Coolie’), my father recited my birthday poem. It was like a new life for me. While reading the poem my father broke down. It was the only time I’ve seen him like that.”

Big B says things have changed over time, as far as birthday rituals go. “My father’s poetry is much-missed, as is my mother’s excitement on that day. The annual ritual of cake-cutting no longer interests me. It has been replaced by a plate of dry fruits,” he says.

“I want to play the piano. I want to learn many languages. I’d have liked to work with Guru Dutt,” he says about his unfulfilled dreams.
