These advanced missiles will enhance the combat capability of T-90 main battle tanks, boosting India’s deterrence and operational edge. The procurement is in line with the government’s focus on Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defence manufacturing, leveraging domestic expertise and promoting indigenous defence production under the ‘Buy (Indian)’ category.

MoD & BDL sign Rs 2,095.70 crore contract for INVAR Anti-tank missiles

Ministry of Defence has inked a contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for the procurement of INVAR Anti-tank Missiles at a total cost of Rs 2,095.70 crore, under the ‘Buy (Indian)’ category. The contract was signed by senior officials of the Ministry of Defence and representatives of BDL in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh at South Block, New Delhi on November 13, 2025.

D V Srinivas Rao assumes charge as Director (Technical) of Bharat Dynamics Limited

Shri D V Srinivas Rao has assumed charge as Director (Technical) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a leading public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India on 20th Sep 2024.

Shri Srinivas Rao brings with him over three decades of extensive experience in the defence sector, having held key leadership roles at BDL. Prior to this prestigious appointment, he served as General Manager (Design & Engineering), where he led the in-house Research and Development (R&D) Division of BDL. During his career, Shri Srinivas Rao has played a pivotal role in spearheading numerous defence projects, many of which are now deployed and extensivelyused by the Indian Armed Forces.

He has closely collaborated with several Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) labs, contributing to the successful execution of numerous projects for BDL. He was also instrumental in establishing the state-of-the-art Electronics Division at BDL, which now produces critical sub-systems for various weapon systems used by India’s defence forces.
