‘Bhanja Setu’, a Foot Cross Over Bridge across the Ring Road near Bhanja Bhawan inaugurated

‘Bhanja Setu’, a Foot Cross Over Bridge has been constructed connecting Ispat Central Market, Sector-19 and Exhibition Ground, Sector-5 across the Ring Road of RSP Steel Township near Bhanja Bhawan. In a function organised on 9th October 2024 Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) with Additional Charge of ED (Projects) inaugurated the bridge in the presence of Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A). Present on the occasion were Mr. R S Rajendran, CGM (Mechanical), Mr. P K Swain, CGM I/c (TA & CSR), Dr. Jayant Acharya, CMO In-charge (M&HS), Mr. B K Jojo, CGM (TE & Horticulture) and other Senior Officers of Town Engineering, Town Administration, CSR, Horticulture as well as other Plant units and representatives of Ispat Central Market Committee.

Bhanja Setu is aimed at improving both road safety and smooth traffic flow especially during festive occasions and when mega events are being organised at Exhibition Ground, Sector-5, Bhanja Bhawan and Ispat Sarovar Udyan.

The idea was conceptualised by the Town Engineering Department, while Design Department developed the detail blueprint. Thereafter the Shops- Structural and Fabrication Department carried out the fabrication and erection on the site. Town Services and Town Engineering Department organised the laying of the foundation with the help of FMM Department and other concerned agencies.
